So is it a good radio, or just an ok radio sent to you for a paid review?

No payments involved, I was interested in the radio and brand thinking it would be sort of a junker (Think Cobra 19) Well..... it is actually a decent entry level radio. I actually test these devices unlike most other "influencers" . If I find something I like I will put out a video on that device/product. If it is a POS then I either will not film it, or I will film it and let the viewers know. Also.... If I totally think the product is junk, I will donate to Goodwill or the DI. Stay tuned for more on this radio and the President Bill FCC.
      EDIT.... Like this ua-cam.com/video/9qY_RdiT2KE/v-deo.html

Thank you for your honest review. So many do fluff pieces and then if I spend my hard earned money on it and it is a POS I usually stop following them.

FM CTSS coding got missed by other reviewers. Buy several of these among friends and have CTSS talk around where they can be left on and the only noise they make is friends wanting to talk. Of course FRS/GMRS can do the same thing with more forgiving antennas. Last thing I need is a another radio to hear the Channel 19 super bowl. Who gave them permission to leave channel 6???

IMO CTCSS is not for CB Radio. Like you state, FRS / GMRS / UHF / VHF type operation is best suited for that. CB is and always been open format, and tone encoding is a slap in the face to CB Radio. Again IMO.
I'am also not a fan of FM on the CB band as it stands. But hey I'm old:)
Lastly, Stay on 6 or if you can't hang with the "Big Boys" then use 28:) .......
      Cheers

@@breakerbroke23 I agree with you 80%. 2 months short of 4 years. I installed a President Ronald just wanting to listen to Farmers and Truck traffic. RG8 cable upgrade and a A99 antenna. I was happy scanning 40 channels. Then skip happened.
Today/// No farmers on CB anymore. (They play on GMRS now) Most truckers don't leave CBs on anymore. The Last DOT car with a CB got mad when I announced he was stopping trucks bypassing the scale running through town. (I now announce he is resting in town for legal reasons)
Now I listen to 26.805 MHz FM for entertainment. when there is traffic it is clear and is from all of north America and Europe. On occasion I can talk 2 or 3 minute to them. I am swearing no upgrades trying to chase them. Radios are a money pit.
PS. Local soccer moms have gotten tired of FRS not working over any hills, in rivers and rock quarries when Johnny plays. They have discovered marine walkie talkies that work much better. Us being 60 miles from a navigational river. I really don't blame them for breaking the law. I will never admit I suggested it.
