Hi guys I've only just discovered your amazing bicycle touring travel videos... I'm having to stay up late every night watching them... Truly inspirational and I'm in awe with what you achieved.... Can I ask what make is the primus bottle mount you use slung under your down tube.... I can't seem to find anything like it.... Again thank you so much for spending time with your video documentary.... I'd certainly buy you a few beers if I could
Great video. The people are beautiful for sure, especially the children. Far cry friendlier than the kids here in the US. I’ve spent a lot of time in Indonesia and the Philippines where my wife comes from. At first, visiting the village she grew up in, I felt so sorry for the people living in little homes worse than Jed Clampet’s cabin in the Beverly Hillbillies TV show years ago. I soon stopped feeling sorry for them because why feel sorry for people that are so happy. They are better of than us in the US. Why? Because they are happy and content with what they have. Many in the US have really nice big homes, but unhappy and discontent. Always wanting more and more. If it wasn’t for the horrible heat, rain and humidity, I’d be living there now.
First, wonderful videos you have put together. You show the feeling of touring so well. I get all moved and want to return to the road. Second, I thought all river transport on the Nam Ou had stopped since they completed all 7 dams. It's great to see that you can still take the boat from Nong Khiaw to to Muang Khua. EDIT: Oh, few seconds later, I see you have to pass a dam by tuktuk. Well, that's still a fine way to progress.
Yes and it depends on the water levels... we had the longer tuktuk ride of about 30 bumpy minutes, but sometimes you can get all the way to just before the dam... And then it's only about 5. It's still a shame though, the Lao people were really worried that they would be out of work soon...
I hope my motherland treat u well my friends specially I hope u enjoy my beautiful home town Luangprabang !!! If I still live there I would host u guy ! I’m live in US now
Amazing scenery. I was going to cycle S. Korea > Japan > China > SE Asia this year but missed out because of the pandemic. Footage like this makes me very jealous! Did you camp much with the tent at all?

Hi there, love the videos! I'm looking at doing a similar route, and contemplating buying the thudbuster st seatpost. Is it well worth the price do you think?
Well it's pretty expensive, we both got it second hand but we do think it's worth the price if you don't have any other form of suspension... It definitely makes a big difference!
Thanks for another great video 😊👍 A question : Would you change the rim brake for disc brake, or have they worked fine all the time? Best of luck on your amazing journey 😉🤞
Thank you Frank 😊 The rims worked fine in every situation but Maudi had her back wheel rim grind down to the point it broke. In this video you can see how we tackle that: ua-cam.com/video/ivqhJihlyP0/v-deo.html We are interested in disc breaks and for a future bike build we would love to try that. For now we will stick to our trusty steeds with rim brakes!
@@WheelstoWander my village is at Senapati dist. Manipur State. But I live at Kohima, Nagaland, Northeast India. I am sure you wouldn't skip northeast India.
It was pretty good Scott! No big shoulders but somehow there wasn't a lot of traffic on our route. Of course there are crazy people driving but in general people were quite relaxed.
In countries like so, do you buy most of your food at produce stands? I know I see you go in the video, but do you always have enough to go from market to market, how much distance in between and how do you find them?
Most bigger towns have a market and along the we we mostly find quite some random food stalls by the side of the road too. We always buy something extra just to have enough when we miss out!
Incredible landscapes and beautiful people! Thank you for sharing more context on “the new Silk Road.” It sounds like modern day colonialism with the guise of helping the locals, when really, there is not much value being created. 😢
Thank you Erin! I think there is some value there but the majority is taken somewhere else. I don't know what deals are made but I hope the Lao government bargained hard for there piece of the pie...

You'll see similar thing in my village 🤗
😮 Where do you live??
@@WheelstoWander my village is at Senapati dist. Manipur State. But I live at Kohima, Nagaland, Northeast India. I am sure you wouldn't skip northeast India.
😷👍Hello. How long you are in Travel?😊✌(Polen).
looks like the new silk road needs some more time to realise
Don't worry, they are busy with it...
How are the roads and are there shoulders and did you feel generally safe from a car bike perspective?
It was pretty good Scott! No big shoulders but somehow there wasn't a lot of traffic on our route. Of course there are crazy people driving but in general people were quite relaxed.
In countries like so, do you buy most of your food at produce stands? I know I see you go in the video, but do you always have enough to go from market to market, how much distance in between and how do you find them?
Most bigger towns have a market and along the we we mostly find quite some random food stalls by the side of the road too. We always buy something extra just to have enough when we miss out!
When come to Indonesia ? 😊😊😊
Hopefully we will one day... 🤞🏼
