As a mental health therapist, I am so darn proud of the way that you guys raise your lovely kiddos, and I also love how you brought up therapy as a positive change in your own life. What is so special about being a counselor, is that most people are not in therapy because they are "sick, crazy, or wrong," but because they need an outside perspective on their lives, and the strength I learn from your journeys is immense. You guys rock!

Now that you are done with braces ask the ortho. about a molded Invisalign-type retainer. It's the only kind that works long-term.

You were so happy to get your braces off after a yr in ur mouth. Always remember to wear those retainers because it’s so important to keep your teeth straight & looking beautiful for an awesome kid like you.
You can keep them clean with toothpaste or mouth wash for 2 mins. Keep it in a good spot in ur bathroom or safe spot.
I had them 4 times in my life. I just got them off 2 yrs ago. Still go to appts for checkups of my retainers & I always wear them at night!

Braces....really takes me back. When I got my braces tightened my mom would always take me out to eat because my teeth would ache so bad for the next few days❤ 60yrs ago but still seems like yesterday.

We will probably move her to Invisalign for the next phase but she has done WONDERFULLY with braces and we are thankful for her great experience with them!!!

Retainers are a little funky feeling at first and take time to adjust speech and eating with so I get how she was feeling but her smile is gorgeous. She’s growing so nicely and I hope all great things for her.

As someone who has had braces and retainers, she’s supposed to remove the retainers any time she eats, then brush teeth and put them back in afterwards.
Don’t eat with ur retainers in, it could cause them to break or cause damage to her teeth and gums
