    Couple things I would recommend but of course, you don’t have to follow. This has been done pretty well btw. Good job on the alloys. They look fresh.
    1. BH Atom Mac. 5% diluted on the brake discs will do wonders to stop them turning brown or rather turning seriously brown. Autocare on her channel has done a video on this so you know when best to give them a good coat with Atom Mac. Nothing is worse than spending all that time and effort doing your alloys nicely only to then finish the car off, go for a drive and then the brake dust has shorn off the disc and gone straight onto the fresh alloys.
    2. I wouldn’t do a pre-rinse before with the pressure washer. I would put a layer of Surfex HD on and let it sit for up to 5 minutes. I would do this to hit the surfaces with the precise dilution rate I’ve made. By pre-rinsing, you’ll lower the dilution rate that naturally hits the surface (you’ll still have this problem when you rinse it off and then go in again with subsequent hits of Surfex).
    I normally like to put some Surfex HD into my snow foam canon (I’ve worked out the precise dial settings to get 4% PIR) and then coat the whole wheel and arch way. I do this for convenience but then also to ensure all parts of the wheel and alloys get coated with Surfex HD. I don’t use an IK foamer for this reason as I’ve seen too many times people miss areas with them and trigger sprayers. Either use a snow foam canon or pump up sprayer you can be liberal with.
    3. Korrosol is meant for body work but its a fall out remover and after you’ve done this with Surfex HD, you can go over with the alloy by spraying some on. This will remove any particles of iron that have embedded itself into the alloy and remove it. Leave for up to 5 minutes. It’s the same price as auto wheels but unlike auto wheels from Bilt Hamber, can be used on the bodywork.

      Auto wheel is pretty much the same as korrosol. It has slightly higher viscosity and more cleaning agents. When diluted it’s totally fine on paint work. Been doing this for years with zero issues.

      Excellent advice mate, was thinking of pretty much this exact method. You ever had a chance to use autoglym magma? I swear by it, its an iron fallout remover as well safe to use on paint straight from the can!

      @@marte-karenselte Definitely mate and no matter how nice the alloys, I absolutely hate bending down to do the barrels and alloys. I’ll do anything to minimise work and effort maintaining them unless it involves forking out dosh for Korrosol/auto wheels and spraying it on the wheels neat or even diluted lol. You’d be amazed how potent Surfex HD is and how much you can stretch Korrosol and Auto wheels even in 1 litre quantities just by being smart and using Surfex HD at least before you go in with those two.

    Bilt Hamber Touch Less is awesome as a Wheel Pre Clean, too! It wont get all the way but it will without contact make the wheel look 80-90% there, reducing work for the contact wash with someting else (I mostly use soapy water)

      Heard this before. Need to get myself some of the new version of Touch Less that has come out last summer and use that on the wheels to see if its true. Proper prewash for sure if it is.

      @@kwl189 you won’t get a 100% but it’s a big difference making the follow up much easier

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 Рік тому +1

      @@peterplumsklo5365 agreed. Like any prewash, it won’t take 100% off without damaging the paintwork but what it will do is take of 90/95% with the absolute bare minimum left on the surface for your mitt to touch. To the point where the 2 bucket method becomes redundant I think.

      Also picked up some Touchless…
      Man this stuff rocks! My alloys were basically spotless on a new car I recently got. Amazing stuff! I’m so glad I got a couple 5 litre gallons of it now. Wow. Never seen a prewash destroy dirt on alloys like that. Just need Touchless on the alloys as a prewash, soak for 5 minutes, rinse down then go in with Surfex HD to mop up the rest. Touchless might well have reduced doing alloys to canon fodder! Just need Korrosol for Iron fallout remover.

    Surfex excellent product but not dedicated to clean wheels. "Autowheel "also by Bilt Hamber is dedicated to cleaning wheels or use fallout remover after cleaning with surfex.

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 Рік тому +1

      It’s not a dedicated wheel cleaner but more than good enough to be branded as one. All but the most neglected alloys can be cleaned by Surfex HD. Autowheels is a kind of fallout remover however contains cleaning detergents within it as well. Korrosol is the same price as auto wheels and is better imo. You’d still clean with Surfex HD first and then rinse off before spray Korrosol on and leave to dwell for up to 5 minutes before rinsing clear.

      KC GS will foam up more if you like that sort of thing but Surfex HD is more powerful. So depends what you want. Surfex HD is cheaper than KC GS when buying 5 litres.

    Many other products will get this done the first time. Personally I don’t feel like cleaning 12 wheels to detail one car…
