Maybe came off a bit melodramatic there for sure. I Just didn't feel good about it with this, one of their bests songs and particularly that part without Kim's voice as the sister. Love all their solo stuff and he has every right to play their old stuff - just prefer seeing them all do this one.

I loved Discharge, Adrenalin OD, Dead Kennedys, etc., but it was great to know that the emotional "palette" - the vocabulary of emotions - could be this broad, this vast... that you could go to this kind of place (in your feelings) and still be rock'n'roll!

And you can see what Steve contributed thru Lee and Thurston's solo albums. He makes Sonic Youth sound the way it did with his steady pulse. Some of their solo material sounds just like Sonic Youth because of Steve.
I don't wanna be winy... but I kinda liked it back then when Thurston refused to play SY covers on his own shows. I think that was respectuful both for the band and his solo career. Anyway, it is kinda strange and sweet to see this stripped down version. I agree with people below who says its rather sad to hear him sing the Kim's parts and also you can feel the abscense of Lee's guitar. Instead of Schizophrenia, this feels more like melancholic dementia.
