Hey guys!! So I installed the sock filter:) We will see how this goes. Let me know what you guys think and if you have a 3D Printer you can download the .STL files here (www.thingiverse.com/thing:352...) or if you want to buy one from me you can PM me on Facebook and we can work something out (facebook.com/homefarmideas). @@homefarmideas you should add some poly fibers in order to catch the smaller stuff. To the very bottom of your 5 gallon bucket before the water flows out.
You should try to print your filter holder in PETG because PLA is degraded in contact of water and can release toxic compounds that could be harmfull to your fish or even be stored in the plants you are going to eat.
All I have on hand is a sweep 90 which is a little to long. I will pick up a normal 90 and see if that works but I am also trying to think of a part I can print to help split the flow just right.
I mention those things throughout my videos.. if you are have a nutrient deficiencies you can post them on my Facebook group (www.Facebook.com/groups/homefaemideas) to help get identified or you can send them to me personally on my Instagram (instagram.com/homefarmideas)

Looks good should be able to catch a lot of those solids!!!
To see how good it really does I need to clean out my fish tank plant growing bed. I may get it on video to see how it does.

kinda reminds me of Apollo 13 where they had to fit a square filter to a round hole (or was it the other way around) :)
Looks good Matt. I am interested in seeing a round one in action. Where do you get ther mesh bags and retaining rings?
I am thinking about making a new one soon:) I got the 4" Filter Socks on ebay I think.

Great job!
Thanks bro:) I will most likely be printing a new one to fit a bucket.
@@homefarmideas that would be nice.
I like it
put a elbow on it like a 1/8 inch above filter to better the flow to all 4 holes

@@homefarmideas turn the 90 down add enough pipe to be close to your designs center
you need to print a rand one to fit the bucket
I agree! A lot less work to get it to attach to the bucket:)
