I think if season 2 comes out, Jackie is rooming in an apartment with Danny in NY, Alex goes to his horse riding school for 2 months and Cole comes to NY to be with Jackie. Then everyone's paths get crossed for another dramatically romantic 10 episodes. I know that's not what you asked but I think that's what's going to go down. Cheers

Come on Netflix. She was likable character and they trashed her at the end. I’m sure they will get harsh reviews because of unlikabity of the main characters.

Jackie knew she had feelings for cole the whole time so getting with alex, no matter how much she liked him, was messed up you can't do that with brothers! You shouldn't do that with anyone , but definitely shouldnt put yourself in such a precarious situation when you're dealing with your family.

Leaving Cole in the barn alone. Alex pulled away from kissing Jackie when she came onto him in respect that she was drunk because he wanted her to want him without any influence. Alex even knew that she may still have feelings for Cole and pulled away from her after her mom’s award ceremony. He gave her the opportunity to come clean about how she really felt and she insisted that her choice was Alex and gave him the banana. So yes, Alex had his issue. They all did but morally and respectfully there’s no question that Alex truly cared for Jackie even more than Cole and definitely would have accepted her as a friend if she was undecided in what she wanted. We can’t say the same for Cole
All three leads were kind of annoying. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Erin’s character development, story and her connection with Danny more (minus the Olivia part).
I love erin especially when she stood up to her mom and cole. I would love for her relationship to bloosm more with danny in the next season as there was some flirting/sexual chemistry towards the end between them both.

I think if there is a second season, it will be a huge mess. In the book, Jackie and Alex end things before anything happens between Cole and Jackie. But they changed the ending a lot, I'm very curious to know what will happen. And I also believe that everyone will be very hurt by Jackie for just leaving without saying goodbye.
They don't usually follow the book,Damon and Elena ended up in VD unlike in the book. I think they kind of see what the audience want and go with it,I hope they do renew it as well.

Well now Kylie is the clear prize! She’s an automatic stand out for any guy looking for a girl with class, morals and maturity. She pretty much stood her ground with every one in the show. She puts Cole, Jackie and Alex in their place with ease. She’s gorgeous and see right through Jackie and isn’t fazed by the Cole effect. She checks Alex every chance she gets. She’s different from every girl on the show. The show should be about her and not Jackie. Much more interesting character now. Hope she gets more screen time in season 2

And Jackie was seen hurt everytime Cole went with Erin, n she realized that he had feelings for her when she was with Alex n he couldn’t hurt his brother. In the end finding the fixed teapot she just couldn’t stop herself n with his wedding speech to will he realized what he had said “when u find your person, nothing else matters” 🫶😍 team Cole and Jackie ..

I agree that Jackie has way more chemistry with Cole than she ever did with Alex. I do disagree about the show being too long, I wish it was longer. I wanned to see more in the beginning on how they fell in love with her (especially Cole). They can’t fall for her just because she’s the new girl, I wanned to see more special moments on why they got so interested in helping her in the first place. I wanned to see her grieving more over her family, more waking up from nightmares, more turmoil, more missing them. For her to be doing better than Cole over his loss (football career) was weird. I also wanned to see Jackie hand the extra credit homework to Cole and kind of talk through school and university plans. It would explain more on why he changed his mind from the road trip to now wanting to go to summer school. So I would’ve loved an extra episode for more scenes. But I loooooove this show so much. There’s a lot of cliffhangers. I also think that the main cast did an amazing acting job so I’m so excited to see more. Netflix should plan for 4 seasons cause I don’t even think 2 is enough!!

And I absolutely agree with the part that Alex was so desperate from the start, as if he just wanted to beat Cole in this game. He wasn’t even concerned for her dinner after the snake scene, Cole was the one who took food to her. Even the bleach time, he was angry with Cole, not concerned about Jackie and snitched on him. He was just looking ways to put Cole down rather than care/be looking out for Jackie. While Cole was the opposite..he always looked out for Jackie, from the start 😍🫶. And even the confession of Alex was because of his insecurity thinking that Jackie/cole would be spending summer at home while he is away at the camp.

The show was better than I expected too. What makes this show interesting is that it has depth because it includes other characters' stories. I'm now looking forward to seeing more about Uncle Richard and Tara if there is a sequel.
I really wanted to like this show. The main plot had promise but the characters were very two dimensional and didn’t suffice. It was cliche and once again stared the main love interest being a total dick for no reason. It was too cliche. Cole was picking on her the second she stepped into their house which made no sense. It was so clear who she wanted more but what’s even more bizarre is the ending? They set it up acting like the show will get a season 2 but I don’t know if that will happen at all.

this is my second comment . Cole was always very up front and honest to Jackie about his feelings. He seemed very disturbed that in his mind during their grounding/black out at home, she flirted w him and then 'cozied up to his little brother.'' He asks her why she is even with Alex... Cole must think that she knew how he felt because when he picked her up when she was lost, at the end, he says 'You of all people would know I would never hurt my little brother.' as if Cole thought Jackie knew that he liked her but did not act on it for Alex's sake. but asking her why she is with Alex seems like he was trying to interfere.. so there are contradictions at play. Also, I think it was Grace who said she wished Jackie would tell Alex what happened between her and Cole .. I had no idea what she was referring to.. Like when the episode ended with Cole and Jackie in the pouring rain while he tells her he would never hurt his little brother.... and then while the sexual tension rises, they end the episode..........??? In the end I loved Cole and tolerated Jackie. but being female myself, maybe that has something to do w it. Alex, I thought they went backwards w his character and made him look younger and more childlike as the story went on. It wasnt even a fair fight for him. My thoughts are that she felt she had to leave so that the tension between the brothers could heal. Alex was prob going to blow a gasket and everyone was going to blame Cole. Cole was prob going to feel really guilty. I am sure his family would blame him and not Jackie. In the end, Jackie was the boss of everyone. lol

When Jack kissed Cole, she was still dating Alex, so it was as if past history had repeated itself again. And now that Cole and Alex were okay, I think Jack didn't want to ruin it, and she felt really bad about cheating on Alex, I think that's why she left.

I actually don't hold the first time against Cole. He didn't even know Alex was dating Paige, which Alex has known all along. If anything, I think he intentionally lied to Jackie to make it seem like something Cole did intentionally, so that she would feel sorry for him and view Cole in an even worse light. That said, the second time was definitely wrong on both Cole and Jackie's part.

It kind of felt like Alex was the guy that Jackie felt like she should be with/ the girl that lived in New York would have been with. Cole obviously represents the bad boy, but he also is broken in a lot of ways like the Jackie who is now in Colorado, which I think drew Jackie to him. “Nothing broken can’t be fixed.” Kind of felt like it came circle. She obviously had to leave after that because of what it would do to Alex, and the implications of her being there with both guys. Really liked the show, looking forward to the next season.

It's a series, not a movie. It was a very good show. I felt that Jacki left because things would have gotten complicated if she stayed and would have force to tell Alex the truth which would have cause a ridge with Cole. It's obvious That Cole and Jackie are in love with each other but tried to look the other way. That kiss meant how much they were into each other from the get go. I can't wait to see season 2. Hope it comes out this year
I seen someone say this but I wanted to chime in to agree that she shouldn’t have gotten with any of them until she resolved her feelings with the both of them. She denied Cole because of all the negativity surrounding him and went with Alex because hes “safe”, when in reality they didn’t really mesh, they felt more like best friends.

honestly i never like this trope that girl playing with two brothers then falling for the older brother(the bad guy) but this time i feel like alex came in between cole and jackie. it was pretty obvious the chemistry between them since the first episode and i barely even noticed alex. bc alex was angry on his brother and he was evidently jealous whenever he saw jackie w cole, i think alex just falls very easily in love and he was more in a competition with cole almost the entire season. jackie tried to resist cole bc she saw the bad traits in him but when cole finally came to his senses at the end and she saw how much he rly liked her,she gave in. i dont think jackie actaully was into alex,he was more like a goodf= friend to her
Alot of people don't seem to realize that alex and jackies relationship was doomed from the start. Being an overly nice guy, too controlling, pushy, overly giving when someone doesn't give in the same capacity does not qualify you for boyfriend material. The idea of a nice guy in romantic relationships is alot more toxic than people realize, just because you're nice (he was considerate and stood up for her) doesn't mean you're owed anything, it's about time people dont normalize behaviours like that. Sure what happened to him with paige was awful, but that doesn't mean that every girl is like that because he projects his shit on her until it eventually does happen. imo he's only infatuated by jackie to prove himself against cole, not because he actually does like her and he seems to confuse the two. Them having 0 deep conversations is highly telling of that, with jackie either not giving in to openly talking about stuff that bother her or him just never asking about her deeply like cole, and this is further re-affirmed with jackie not being able to openly communicate w him and her telling him that. Attraction is also key, you need to have that in a relationship and usually you can tell from the start, which for jackie, her chemistry with cole is better than with alex. Not exactly excusing cole cause he was an absolute jerk the whole season, to everyone not just jackie, but analysing jackie and cole in a romantic context: I'll give it to him his conversations flow better with jackie than alex's and they seem to bounce off of one another, does not mean that I rncourgae their relationship because he's pretty emotionally immature and just plain rude. Learning and growing is key in a relationship, and I don't necessarily think alex is adding anything new in Jackie's life.

I think Alex gave Jackie stability and normalcy. Something she needed after losing pretty much her whole life in NYC. But Cole knows what loss is, and he connects to Jackie because of that. He was going through it, that was obvious. Jackie saw that. He had been distracting himself so that he didn't have to deal with his reality. That's why he sort of hated that he wanted Jackie bc she didn't fit into that problematic routine that he had built into his life (I kinda think that he would've ended up hurting Jackie if they had gotten together before he changed for the better) but he couldn't have her bc she was not only with Alex but not interested in being with Cole the way he was. In the end it felt like it was his love for Jackie that inspired him to be a better person, but since the kiss, i don't know what kind of person he's gonna be after the summer. I don't even know if Jackie is gonna come back from NYC as the same kind of person or as someone worse bc she clearly feels guilty for what happened but i dont think she regrets kissing Cole. She just regrets cheating on her bf and not being honest with Alex. also Alex is not good for her bc he is either putting Jackie on a pedestal & sees her as this perfect person or he treats her like Kylie. She doesn't prioritize him the way Kylie does. Pretty sure he only told Jackie he loves her bc he knew/was afraid that if he left Jackie and Cole there without him for the summer then something would happen between them bc he has seen the way they look at each other
I seem to be one of the few that doesn’t like Jackie and Cole together. Just another good girl, bad boy trope where “he changes for her.” It would be one thing for him to just be edgy and get bad grades and get into trouble, but his way with girls is just toxic. Like Erin said, he never once thought about what she wanted, which just goes to show he doesn’t see girls as their own equal, independently thinking/feeling persons. But that’s all different with Jackie cause she’s a not-like-other-girls girl right? Ooo, she’s New York. She doesn’t immediately fall for his charm. She calls him out on his crap. Can we stop romanticizing guys that only treat a girl decently (which Cole doesn’t even do half the time) just because they like her. Guys that obviously have issues they need to figure out. Guys that only change their toxicity because they found “the one.” But also what annoyed me the most is how Jackie made such a big deal about Cole playing a part in Paige cheating on Alex, and yet as soon as she’s over that anger towards Cole just turns around and does the exact same thing. Like THAT was just so out of character. And Alex may not be the most interesting character, but he definitely deserves better.
I know it’s sort of reading into a bit much but maybe Erin could end up having some sort of relationship with Danny not necessarily romantic but it may not be ruled out. Since things ended in season 1 with her saying he could call or text her sometime about New York and stuff. The small piece of their relationship really came from the play.

Dear "brainpilot" I love your 2 reviews on the new Netflix series "My life with the Walter boys", and I agree with everything youvsaid in both this episode abd the other you made, except for the fact that they should only be 30 min. each. If anything I want them to be even longer, because I love the series so much. I love the storylines, the dynamics between the characters, the suspense etc. All of it. My husband and I binge watched it in 2 days, 😂. Couldn't stop watching it. I definitely hope it comes bavk with several more seasons and I hope that Jackie and Cole are not just going to have a fling bit a serious (fun) and beautiful rekationship. 😊💫 Thank you for the reviews

I wish the season was longer just because of the way it ended (Guilt over kissing Cole and the damage it'll cause to Cole and Alex amended relationship - probably wy she left, but the truth has to come out at some point). We can see that Jackie went with Alex because he seemed safe and not broken; even though, she was attracted to Cole. Alex seemed so insecure and it probably stemmed from Cole Kissing Paige, and him being jealous of Cole. Hopefully, the show gets renewed for season 2.
First, I love this review. I agree. And yes the soundtrack was spot on. I could see that Jackie had a better connection with Cole and chemistry. I found Alex too intense, lacking confidence to the point of desperation and blaming Cole for all his problems, including the whole Paige misunderstanding, that Alex knew wasn't Cole's fault. At the cider stand it was disgusting the way Alex kept criticizing Cole in front of Jackie. So mean. But Cole didn't criticize him back. I'm sorry Alex fans, I tried to like him. And the way I feel has nothing to do with their looks. It was a real turn off. Alex saw what was happening between Cole and Jackie before he ended up with her. Cole had plenty of opportunity to tell Jackie how he felt and kiss her. But he took it slow. We're all human and just try to navigate thru life the best we can, not always making the right choices. I'm mostly upset with Jackie for making a mess of everything and even listening to and spreading gossip. I felt that was beneath her. Jackie kissed Cole who tried not to kiss her back. I can't blame him for finally giving in to "his person". In the final episode when Alex says to Cole "what did you do", maybe he should look at what he did.
Totally agree with everything you wrote. Cole and Jackie had developed an understanding and empathy for each other in the end, that Alex just did not have. Cole always put himself down with Jackie, and minimised the nice things he did for her and how he tried to cheer her up after her interview. But Alex was annoyingly always looking for approval for anything nice he did. Alex was so self centred and I loathed the way he kept looking "daggers" at Cole and blaming him for things like the broken bridle. I personally felt Jackie's note was meant for the whole family - not just Alex. And that Jackie went up to his room to friendzone him after his wedding declaration of "love" , but found him drunk. Honestly, after watching the two dance at the wedding, who on earth thought there was any real connection between them except Alex.
Jackie should have been with Cole the entire time. I loved this show and frankly disagree with you that the episodes were too long. The story kept up with the entire family and there is no way the story could be told in 30 minutes. As far as music goes, the actual songs were great, but the background piano music has got to go. It dragged the mood of the scenes with the doom doom doom banging on the piano. That is not the way to increase the emotional drama. The characters and acting did that on its own. If there isn’t a second season, then Netflix is doing a gross failure for their audience. Team Cole for Jackie and there MUST BE A SECOND SEASON.
As "The target audience" I defiantly agree that it did loose itself but was an overall good show and exited to see how jackie copes in NYC in season two. Great video ❤❤

Like in every show like this, mean character have the same problem. Two guys, two personality, two diffrent world's. Alex was safe option. No risk. Except Jeremy is was better in terms of maturity I think.. he’s more emotionally aware. Cole is as well but he doesn’t like to show it. the fact that Cole sees how much the teapot matters to her and puts it back together says so much about his his character. Also Jackie is more able to emotionally open up to Cole than with Alex so IMO Cole is better for her.
I loved seeing Erin's character grow throughout the show. But one thing that really annoyed me was that Jackie explained to Katherin how much she loved being with them and how she found her new family. But then the next day she just leaves and goes back to NY without telling them goodbye or anything. I very much agree with others in that what she did with Cole and then leaving all that mess for Alex to figure out and deal with is just wrong especially cause of the whole Paige thing. At the beginning of the show I was very much Team Alex but after finish watching the show I don't really know what to think anymore to be honest. Season 2 is going to be crazy though.

But at no way can anyone should blame Alex as if he forced himself om Jackie. Jackie chose him over Cole. He even left her alone with Cole at the barn, but she ran to be with Alex . Leaving Cole in the barn alone. Alex pulled away from kissing Jackie when she came onto him in respect that she was drunk because he wanted her to want him without any influence. Alex even knew that she may still have feelings for Cole and pulled away from her after her mom’s award ceremony. He gave her the opportunity to come clean about how she really felt and she insisted that her choice was Alex and gave him the banana. So yes, Alex had his issue. They all did but morally and respectfully there’s no question that Alex truly cared for Jackie even more than Cole and definitely would have accepted her as a friend if she was undecided in what she wanted. We can’t say the same for Cole
All three leads were kind of annoying. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Erin’s character development, story and her connection with Danny more (minus the Olivia part).

I think if there is a second season, it will be a huge mess. In the book, Jackie and Alex end things before anything happens between Cole and Jackie. But they changed the ending a lot, I'm very curious to know what will happen. And I also believe that everyone will be very hurt by Jackie for just leaving without saying goodbye.
They don't usually follow the book,Damon and Elena ended up in VD unlike in the book. I think they kind of see what the audience want and go with it,I hope they do renew it as well.

Well now Kylie is the clear prize! She’s an automatic stand out for any guy looking for a girl with class, morals and maturity. She pretty much stood her ground with every one in the show. She puts Cole, Jackie and Alex in their place with ease. She’s gorgeous and see right through Jackie and isn’t fazed by the Cole effect. She checks Alex every chance she gets. She’s different from every girl on the show. The show should be about her and not Jackie. Much more interesting character now. Hope she gets more screen time in season 2

Cole fell and cared for Jackie since the time she came in..even though she knew he was a bit mischievous yet she opened up more to him than she ever did with Alex. Cole was concerned for those teapot pieces even before he knew what it meant to her. In Jackie’s presence/care/watching her strength Cole grew up to be a better person. And Jackie was seen hurt everytime Cole went with Erin, n she realized that he had feelings for her when she was with Alex n he couldn’t hurt his brother. In the end finding the fixed teapot she just couldn’t stop herself n with his wedding speech to will he realized what he had said “when u find your person, nothing else matters” 🫶😍 team Cole and Jackie ..

I do disagree about the show being too long, I wish it was longer. I wanned to see more in the beginning on how they fell in love with her (especially Cole). They can’t fall for her just because she’s the new girl, I wanned to see more special moments on why they got so interested in helping her in the first place. I wanned to see her grieving more over her family, more waking up from nightmares, more turmoil, more missing them. For her to be doing better than Cole over his loss (football career) was weird. I also wanned to see Jackie hand the extra credit homework to Cole and kind of talk through school and university plans. It would explain more on why he changed his mind from the road trip to now wanting to go to summer school. So I would’ve loved an extra episode for more scenes. But I loooooove this show so much. There’s a lot of cliffhangers. I also think that the main cast did an amazing acting job so I’m so excited to see more. Netflix should plan for 4 seasons cause I don’t even think 2 is enough!!

He wasn’t even concerned for her dinner after the snake scene, Cole was the one who took food to her. Even the bleach time, he was angry with Cole, not concerned about Jackie and snitched on him. He was just looking ways to put Cole down rather than care/be looking out for Jackie. While Cole was the opposite..he always looked out for Jackie, from the start 😍🫶. And even the confession of Alex was because of his insecurity thinking that Jackie/cole would be spending summer at home while he is away at the camp.

I really wanted to like this show. The main plot had promise but the characters were very two dimensional and didn’t suffice. It was cliche and once again stared the main love interest being a total dick for no reason. It was too cliche. Cole was picking on her the second she stepped into their house which made no sense. It was so clear who she wanted more but what’s even more bizarre is the ending? They set it up acting like the show will get a season 2 but I don’t know if that will happen at all.

this is my second comment . Cole was always very up front and honest to Jackie about his feelings. He seemed very disturbed that in his mind during their grounding/black out at home, she flirted w him and then 'cozied up to his little brother.'' He asks her why she is even with Alex... Cole must think that she knew how he felt because when he picked her up when she was lost, at the end, he says 'You of all people would know I would never hurt my little brother.' as if Cole thought Jackie knew that he liked her but did not act on it for Alex's sake. but asking her why she is with Alex seems like he was trying to interfere.. so there are contradictions at play.
Also, I think it was Grace who said she wished Jackie would tell Alex what happened between her and Cole .. I had no idea what she was referring to..
Like when the episode ended with Cole and Jackie in the pouring rain while he tells her he would never hurt his little brother.... and then while the sexual tension rises, they end the episode..........???
In the end I loved Cole and tolerated Jackie. but being female myself, maybe that has something to do w it. Alex, I thought they went backwards w his character and made him look younger and more childlike as the story went on. It wasnt even a fair fight for him.
My thoughts are that she felt she had to leave so that the tension between the brothers could heal. Alex was prob going to blow a gasket and everyone was going to blame Cole. Cole was prob going to feel really guilty. I am sure his family would blame him and not Jackie.

I actually don't hold the first time against Cole. He didn't even know Alex was dating Paige, which Alex has known all along. If anything, I think he intentionally lied to Jackie to make it seem like something Cole did intentionally, so that she would feel sorry for him and view Cole in an even worse light. That said, the second time was definitely wrong on both Cole and Jackie's part.

It kind of felt like Alex was the guy that Jackie felt like she should be with/ the girl that lived in New York would have been with. Cole obviously represents the bad boy, but he also is broken in a lot of ways like the Jackie who is now in Colorado, which I think drew Jackie to him. “Nothing broken can’t be fixed.” Kind of felt like it came circle. She obviously had to leave after that because of what it would do to Alex, and the implications of her being there with both guys. Really liked the show, looking forward to the next season.

It's a series, not a movie. It was a very good show. I felt that Jacki left because things would have gotten complicated if she stayed and would have force to tell Alex the truth which would have cause a ridge with Cole. It's obvious That Cole and Jackie are in love with each other but tried to look the other way. That kiss meant how much they were into each other from the get go. I can't wait to see season 2. I have say Alex and Jackie was great couple for me. Then again Cole had great special moments as well with Jackie. If i choose maybe Cole end Alex has someone fall back on someone he doesn't know is best friend.
Unpopular opinion: I want the main character to end up with the nice guy, not the bad boy, and I like Alex way more than cole. I want a series where for example Jackie would end up with Alex and not in fact cheat on him
Cole changed for Jackie, and he told sry to Erin , and he helped Jackie in many ways, and Alex was not a gentleman at last episode, he gone to kiss his best friend, so Jackie chose a right person Cole!! TEAM COLE!
honestly i never like this trope that girl playing with two brothers then falling for the older brother(the bad guy) but this time i feel like alex came in between cole and jackie. it was pretty obvious the chemistry between them since the first episode and i barely even noticed alex. bc alex was angry on his brother and he was evidently jealous whenever he saw jackie w cole, i think alex just falls very easily in love and he was more in a competition with cole almost the entire season. jackie tried to resist cole bc she saw the bad traits in him but when cole finally came to his senses at the end and she saw how much he rly liked her,she gave in. i dont think jackie actaully was into alex,he was more like a goodf= friend to her

Alot of people don't seem to realize that alex and jackies relationship was doomed from the start. Being an overly nice guy, too controlling, pushy, overly giving when someone doesn't give in the same capacity does not qualify you for boyfriend material. The idea of a nice guy in romantic relationships is alot more toxic than people realize, just because you're nice (he was considerate and stood up for her) doesn't mean you're owed anything, it's about time people dont normalize behaviours like that. Sure what happened to him with paige was awful, but that doesn't mean that every girl is like that because he projects his shit on her until it eventually does happen. imo he's only infatuated by jackie to prove himself against cole, not because he actually does like her and he seems to confuse the two. Them having 0 deep conversations is highly telling of that, with jackie either not giving in to openly talking about stuff that bother her or him just never asking about her deeply like cole, and this is further re-affirmed with jackie not being able to openly communicate w him and her telling him that. Attraction is also key, you need to have that in a relationship and usually you can tell from the start, which for jackie, her chemistry with cole is better than with alex. Not exactly excusing cole cause he was an absolute jerk the whole season, to everyone not just jackie, but analysing jackie and cole in a romantic context: I'll give it to him his conversations flow better with jackie than alex's and they seem to bounce off of one another, does not mean that I rncourgae their relationship because he's pretty emotionally immature and just plain rude. Learning and growing is key in a relationship, and I don't necessarily think alex is adding anything new in Jackie's life.
I'm team cole but poor alex honestly he didn't deserve for Jackie to kiss cole.

I thought Jackie was cutie and adorable and thoughtful until she did what she did to Alex but Cole is anything but trustworthy and I believe the show is gonna make Jackie find that out the hard way just like belly in TSITP. How you gonna tell your baby brother that you would never intentionally hurt him over a girl, you guys mend your issues( which actually happened in the show) Alex forgives his brother and happily stops competing with his brother and before the night end you telling his girlfriend that you can’t stop wanting her!! 😂😂 where’s the change Cole?? Why are you still pursuing Jackie. Thought you would never intentionally hurt you brother like that again.

In the begging I was team Alex but in the end changed to Cole after seeing all the things he started doing for her

I think Alex gave Jackie stability and normalcy. Something she needed after losing pretty much her whole life in NYC. But Cole knows what loss is, and he connects to Jackie because of that. He was going through it, that was obvious. Jackie saw that. He had been distracting himself so that he didn't have to deal with his reality. That's why he sort of hated that he wanted Jackie bc she didn't fit into that problematic routine that he had built into his life (I kinda think that he would've ended up hurting Jackie if they had gotten together before he changed for the better) but he couldn't have her bc she was not only with Alex but not interested in being with Cole the way he was. In the end it felt like it was his love for Jackie that inspired him to be a better person, but since the kiss, i don't know what kind of person he's gonna be after the summer. I don't even know if Jackie is gonna come back from NYC as the same kind of person or as someone worse bc she clearly feels guilty for what happened but i dont think she regrets kissing Cole. She just regrets cheating on her bf and not being honest with Alex. also Alex is not good for her bc he is either putting Jackie on a pedestal & sees her as this perfect person or he treats her like Kylie. She doesn't prioritize him the way Kylie does. Pretty sure he only told Jackie he loves her bc he knew/was afraid that if he left Jackie and Cole there without him for the summer then something would happen between them bc he has seen the way they look at each other
I seem to be one of the few that doesn’t like Jackie and Cole together. Just another good girl, bad boy trope where “he changes for her.” It would be one thing for him to just be edgy and get bad grades and get into trouble, but his way with girls is just toxic. Like Erin said, he never once thought about what she wanted, which just goes to show he doesn’t see girls as their own equal, independently thinking/feeling persons. But that’s all different with Jackie cause she’s a not-like-other-girls girl right? Ooo, she’s New York. She doesn’t immediately fall for his charm. She calls him out on his crap. Can we stop romanticizing guys that only treat a girl decently (which Cole doesn’t even do half the time) just because they like her. Guys that obviously have issues they need to figure out. Guys that only change their toxicity because they found “the one.” But also what annoyed me the most is how Jackie made such a big deal about Cole playing a part in Paige cheating on Alex, and yet as soon as she’s over that anger towards Cole just turns around and does the exact same thing. Like THAT was just so out of character. And Alex may not be the most interesting character, but he definitely deserves better.
I know it’s sort of reading into a bit much but maybe Erin could end up having some sort of relationship with Danny not necessarily romantic but it may not be ruled out. Since things ended in season 1 with her saying he could call or text her sometime about New York and stuff. The small piece of their relationship really came from the play.
I acculy loved that show and I think that Cole and Jackie had a better connection and should be together

If anything I want them to be even longer, because I love the series so much.
I love the storylines, the dynamics between the characters, the suspense etc. All of it. My husband and I binge watched it in 2 days, 😂. Couldn't stop watching it.
I definitely hope it comes bavk with several more seasons and I hope that Jackie and Cole are not just going to have a fling bit a serious (fun) and beautiful rekationship. 😊💫

Omg! I agree with everything in review..... so spot on. I think Jackie and Cole were better suited and had more chemistry. I think they really connected and she was good for him. Alex was so OTT with the PDA (cringe) 😖
I wish the season was longer just because of the way it ended (Guilt over kissing Cole and the damage it'll cause to Cole and Alex amended relationship - probably wy she left, but the truth has to come out at some point). We can see that Jackie went with Alex because he seemed safe and not broken; even though, she was attracted to Cole. Alex seemed so insecure and it probably stemmed from Cole Kissing Paige, and him being jealous of Cole. Hopefully, the show gets renewed for season 2.

First, I love this review. I agree. And yes the soundtrack was spot on. I could see that Jackie had a better connection with Cole and chemistry. I found Alex too intense, lacking confidence to the point of desperation and blaming Cole for all his problems, including the whole Paige misunderstanding, that Alex knew wasn't Cole's fault. At the cider stand it was disgusting the way Alex kept criticizing Cole in front of Jackie. So mean. But Cole didn't criticize him back. I'm sorry Alex fans, I tried to like him. And the way I feel has nothing to do with their looks. It was a real turn off. Alex saw what was happening between Cole and Jackie before he ended up with her. Cole had plenty of opportunity to tell Jackie how he felt and kiss her. But he took it slow. We're all human and just try to navigate thru life the best we can, not always making the right choices. I'm mostly upset with Jackie for making a mess of everything and even listening to and spreading gossip. I felt that was beneath her. Jackie kissed Cole who tried not to kiss her back. I can't blame him for finally giving in to "his person". In the final episode when Alex says to Cole "what did you do", maybe he should look at what he did.

Cole and Jackie had developed an understanding and empathy for each other in the end, that Alex just did not have. Cole always put himself down with Jackie, and minimised the nice things he did for her and how he tried to cheer her up after her interview. But Alex was annoyingly always looking for approval for anything nice he did.
Alex was so self centred and I loathed the way he kept looking "daggers" at Cole and blaming him for things like the broken bridle. I personally felt Jackie's note was meant for the whole family - not just Alex. And that Jackie went up to his room to friendzone him after his wedding declaration of "love" , but found him drunk. Honestly, after watching the two dance at the wedding, who on earth thought there was any real connection between them except Alex.
Jackie should have been with Cole the entire time.
I loved this show and frankly disagree with you that the episodes were too long. The story kept up with the entire family and there is no way the story could be told in 30 minutes. As far as music goes, the actual songs were great, but the background piano music has got to go. It dragged the mood of the scenes with the doom doom doom banging on the piano. That is not the way to increase the emotional drama. The characters and acting did that on its own.
If there isn’t a second season, then Netflix is doing a gross failure for their audience.

Like in every show like this, mean character have the same problem. Two guys, two personality, two diffrent world's.
Alex was safe option. No risk. He is like golden retriever support puppy., but Cole was " i like nobody else" no relationship, no fear. I looked at him and see "im the popular kid, look at me. I'm fuking shinning star" hahh.
After episode 5, somthing changed. Alex was just too much, but cole tried to be someone more than "popolar blond guy"

the fact that Cole sees how much the teapot matters to her and puts it back together says so much about his his character. Also Jackie is more able to emotionally open up to Cole than with Alex so IMO Cole is better for her.

I loved seeing Erin's character grow throughout the show. But one thing that really annoyed me was that Jackie explained to Katherin how much she loved being with them and how she found her new family. But then the next day she just leaves and goes back to NY without telling them goodbye or anything. I very much agree with others in that what she did with Cole and then leaving all that mess for Alex to figure out and deal with is just wrong especially cause of the whole Paige thing. At the beginning of the show I was very much Team Alex but after finish watching the show I don't really know what to think anymore to be honest. Season 2 is going to be crazy though.
