Your clock has stopped on the wall 😆 top upload again 👍👍😎😎
It’s never worked bud 👍
@@sruk that shows how observant I am then 🤣 I've been watching you for nearly 2 years and I've only just noticed 🤣🤣
Do a video on fixing the clock Rob 😂
Omg me too watching years and just noticed the clock 😂😂😂
I noticed that in the last video haha.
have checked the starter motor rob on the mini cooper
Watched new wheeler dealers (without Ed) and thought my god, the quality on UA-cam is better than the so-called TV. You guys need to be on the Box soon
I agree. Can't stand the new WD. Much prefer watching Rob and Chris.
@@priteshchampaneri5101 The quality the two boys put into the UA-cam, trumps most new programmes on the TV. There is a reason why nobody watched TV anymore 😂
I agree watching Rob and Chris is much better, but wouldn't want to see them on TV with a director and crew telling them what to do and say. Telling Rob to cut the waffle. It would kill the reason we watch these guys - 100% genuine characters and real life content!
@@markf4720 very true
The last 6 months I've been addicted to you tube , the standard this Channel churns out and others is far better than anything on tv .
Bring back the old BMC A/B series engines good luck great content Rob.
I'd love to work with use would learn so much and no short cuts
hate working on my own aswell it's nice to have someone to chat to through out the day
keep videos going and content is s cracker love it
Thanks again Rob... great content. Can't wait until you get back to her.
I'm a big fan of these super cute and thrilling little cars. Nice to see it getting some tlc. They are very home diyer friendly to work on.
I spend 6 years working at mini in oxford. 3 in paint and 3 assembly. Fluid fill breaks and air con was my main job. They are bad cars but not the worst I’ve seen! Love the channel ❤️
Looks like some mini engine dismantling coming soon 👍 thanks for keeping the videos coming. I am going through your back catalogue right now
Hello Rob, yeah it’s a leak down mate, glad Chris is on the mend, all the best both
Nice to see rob keep it up as it gives me and no doubt all the other subscribers so much of interest to look forward to hopefully see the magician Chris back next week
Well done lads , put another notch on the belt. 👍👍👍
My monies on a cracked piston, I’ve just rebuilt a John Cooper Works that had a really good blown piston, and got 2 Cooper S convertibles sat on the drive, one with a snapped chain, one with a slipped chain! Great engines these PSA lumps 😁
Must be strange in the workshop without Chris, when you're working with someone for so long you form a working partnership and spur each other on, you two make a cracking team, I really enjoy the videos and I've not forgotten about the Mercedes, hows that doing. Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing Chris back next week and the workshop will be back and buzzing.
Best wishes to Chris, looking forward to his return as I'm sure you are Rob.
Best wishes to Chris, Looking forward to his return as I’m sure you are

Great news , looking forward to having the big fella back 😀👍🏻
Good video Rob. Looking forward to finding out what the issue is!
Hi
When you come to take off and refit front bumper can you show various plugs clips and fittings that are used and their location. Trying to rebuild front bumper assy after some previous repairs and found a right mix of them all. Suspect they have not been fitted in the correct places on rebuild.
Keep the various vids coming. Diversity is the spice of life they say. Enjoying your mix of interests. Stay safe.
Great vid Rob 👍 my Citreon C5 failed, but only on the CV boots, I said just bang some on then and it passed yesterday. Mot and wellies fitted.£102.00. Happy days.
Good to have an update on the Mini.
Going to be more labour intensive that some of the body repairs you have done so looking forward to the next installment and seeing Chris back too.
Rotate the cams round until you see the writing facing up then get a mirror under neath the sump the flywheel end and look in the hole to see if you can see the location for the timing pin 👍
I’ll be putting the timing tool on it to take the chain off 👍
Looking forward to getting fully involved with the mini, and top news about Chris👍
Hi Chris just another thought on the number 3 cylinder issue, just to be double sure put some oil into the cylinder using an oil can, do another compression test and if the compression increases it will show it it’s a piston problem, if not it’s definitely a valve.
Great news about Chris - great video of investigations on the Mini. Don’t put your self down Rob it must be tremendously hard doing it all on your own! Thanks for keeping us all entertained and informed. 👍
Really love the mechanical fault finding - so educational
Always something new on here! Its a nice little motor so can't wait for it to get fixed 👍🏼💪🏽
Hi Rob,great news that Chris is on the mend, the mini looks a bit of a tuff one,but if anyone can resolve it will be you, stay safe as always,👍
Lets get this mini working. Its too good to be in the garage. BTW, I'm enjoying your videos on the Land Rover and do plan to own one in the near future. Greetings from the States and please, do continue with your video adventure!!
Rob, apart from dribbling some oil into the low compression cylinder, the only other quick investigation you could do would be a leak-down on the problem cylinder just to see where the air comes out - induction system/exhaust system or crank breather for problems with inlet valve, exhaust valve or rings/piston.
saved me saying it thank you , it is still not too late
Spot on ..👍
Great to be back with you on this mini adventure Rob ☺️👍🏻
Glad Chris is on the mend too, as always thank you for the great content.
Good logical and methodical work. Hope to see a follow-up, Rob. Looking forward to Chris in on it too.
Good little video on the mini will make more good content to watch good to hear Chris is on the mend cheers 😎👍
All the best to Chris, I said it before but that car will sell no problem, it’s a stunning colour and model. Take care 🏴😷
Great vid Rob as always nope Chris is on the mend best car site on you tube best wishes from another Kent town
Looking forward to seeing Chris wandering about in the background again😀 pass on our best wishes.....
First part of finding out what the issue is 😎 glad Chris will feel able to return soon enough 👍
You finally bought the mini back, nice to see it again
Hi Paul hope your doing ok 👍
@@sruk It's screaming out for a K20 Swap.
Rob, Mrs had a cooper s a few years back from main dealers. Had a new timing chain, high pressure fuel pump and a head strip and rebuild. Had all the valves cleaned due to carbon build up caused by direct injection. 6 months later we got rid. Might be carbon on valves so not seating.
Hope you find the problem and great video
Probably not with just one valve having a problem and leaking like an open window. Good as a general cause, but probably not this one. I'd also expect the valve/cam clearance to go up lots if that was the case.
Probably right mate. Tbh we never looked into common problems until after we bought ours which was a massive mistake. Even had to have valve stem seals done at 58k
@Gareth Prytherch Was it burning oil? Blue exhaust smoke? Did you manage to do it without taking the head off?
Nice one Rob, thanks for the video and looking forward to seeing more take care and stay safe!
Great vid rob
Welcome to another mini head gasket
The piston was wet from coolant and compression going through cooling systems
Hey bud I had an r50 and i noticed the black plastics on your cooper s have gone grey. We used a heat gun on them to pull the black colour and oils back to it and it looked amazing also after heat gun a rub in with olive oil makes them look great.
I always leave it till last 👍
Sweet bud can't wait to see it finished. I will be after a mini countryman about this time next year. Good luck with it bud and send my well wishes to chris. 👍
Good to hear that Chris is feeling better and coming back, 2 heads are better than one .
Nice mini. Look forward to next video. Good to have Chris back next week.
Now this is a top video, love the in depth mechanical ones. Looking forward to the follow up video. Nice one Rob 👍
Good news about Chris. Great video Rob. Worked with a lad for two years, for two weeks after he left I realised I’d bought three brews he was never going to drink 🤪🤪
Absolutely love the r56 minis . Had one of these as my first car so they’re quite sentimental. Nice to see you’re working on this. Might get another one again 🤔. Good luck on the working this one out.
looking forward to next chapter on the cooper S & like yourself & many others , chris coming back 👍
Good luck with your appointment and hope your appointment goes ok
Theres more compression in my watch than cylinder 3!!
Nice one Rob. Looking forward to chris's return. You may stick the clock on charge too!
This is going to be Great content to solve this one Rob.
Best wishes to Chris look forward to seeing him when he feels well enough.
Always good.Get well Chris.
Someone has probably mentioned it but You can try a cylinder leakage tool to see where the leak down is (inlet, exhaust) etc. Keep up the good work fella and stay safe 👍
Would love to watch a hour episode mate, absolute love watching your content sinse the start of lockdown in 2020
Apart from classic Mini, the R56 MINI is the best looking throughout the range to date since its reintroduction.
Good Episode Rob really informative
Nice one rob hope Chris is well. Great vid as always keep up the good work son 🤛🙂👍
I like these little Cooper S models, looking forward to seeing what the outcome is.
Rob, you'll find out whats wrong and I have no doubt that you will fix it as well and me for one will keep watching - It's great to hear Chris is getting better !!
Thanks Rob.
Hi Rob. So it's Henry 8th time again by the looks of it..." Off with her head, off with her head" 🤣🤣🤣
Hope it turns out to be something simple,
Cheers, Bob
Hope you are feeling abit better Chris looking forward to seeing you back

Brilliant work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and have a great week
Another top video glad you’re back on top form and I wish Chris all the best 👍🏻
Great to see the Mini making an appearance. Another great session, thanks for all your efforts, all the best to you and Chris, stay safe Gents, Cheers 👍🏼🙂
I just picked a mini up and think I have to do the head so I will be keeping I eye 👁 on this one so I know what is involved love it
Good news about Chris, I haven’t an abracadabra button so I just clicked like instead! Great video again 👍👍👍👍👍
Without doubt it'll get fixed to live again and when it does it will be a nice motor. Buzzing that Chris will be back next week and can't wait to see what other project you've got coming!
Appreciate the work to give us something to look forward to 3x a week!
Rob, you're the only guy I know who can work in a garage with clean white trainers and come out spotlessly clean. Whats your secret?? Lol. Get that head off , all will be revealed .👍😎
Not sure if you made any more progress on this Rob, but check the valves are coked up. Common issue on these engines. People have them walnut shell blasted. Look it up and all will make sense. Best way to fix it is going to be head off, clean or new valves and new valve stem seals. Its usually the seals that go and then leak oil down onto the valves crudding them up and eventually they no longer seat properly. More than likely what you will find on no.3. hope this helps. Great videos, keep up the good work.
Great vid, looking forward to the outcome.
Great video Rob, this looks like it's going to turn out to be a really good series and very useful to many R56 owners!
Very interesting video cheers Rob👍
Best wish to chris, looking forward to his return as I’m sure you are rob and how are you feeling now
You can only do what you can do Rob at the time, love all the content bud, keeps me engrossed for sure👍 👍
Friday night watch with brew sorted. Hope Chris is feeling bit better 👊🏻
It’s got to be a valve on number 3. If it was head gasket it would affect either no 2 or 4 cylinder as well. Good luck.
Take it easy Rob , what you had is not easy to shake ,was still chesty after 6 months.
