FIX!!!! printer spooler problems on Windows 10

- When your printer resists to print, it could be a problem that is preventing the print spooler from running correctly - Here's how to fix the problem.
On Windows 10, it can be frustrating when trying to print and the document stucks in queue, and if you try to cancel the job, it’ll stay deleting forever.
Although there could be a lot of reasons why you can’t print, including connection problems or issues with the printer itself, typically, it’s a problem with the “print spooler” on Windows 10. This is a service that spools print jobs and handles interactions with the printer, and sometimes it’ll stop working, even after restarting your device and printer.
Open Start on Windows 10.
Search for services.msc and click the top result to open the Services console.
Right-click the Print Spooler service and select the Properties option.
Click the General tab.
Click the Stop button.
Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type the following path and press Enter:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\printers
Click the Continue button (if applicable)
Select everything in the printers folder (Ctrl + A keyboard shortcut) and hit the Delete button to remove all its content.
In the General tab, click the Start button to restart the spooler.
Click the OK button.
Once you complete the steps, you can try to print a document one more time, and the printer should work as expected.
How to fix print spooler using Command Prompt
Use these steps to quickly fix print spooler problems using Command Prompt:
Open Start.
Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as Administrator option.
Type the following commands to stop the print spooler, delete the printers folder content, and restart the printer spooler, and press Enter (on each line):
net stop spooler
del /Q /F /S "%systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers\*.*"
net start spooler
After you complete the steps, you should be able to print a document one more time, and your printer should work now.
While this guide focuses on Windows 10, the ability to reset the “Print Spooler” has been around for a long time, which means that you can use the steps on Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and older versions.

This is only a temporary fix. The problem happens every time I turn the computer and printer on again. How do I fix it so that I don't have to go into services every time and restart the print spooler?
Did all steps you outlined. When I go to printer spooler properties I can watch it switch from "running" to "stopped" every 30 seconds to a minute over and over again.
What can I do to fix this?

- Print spooler service isn't running. Not fixed.
- Print spooler service isn't starting automatically - not fixed.

That fixed it for me, much easier and effective than HP's default answer to uninstall and reinstall the printer.
Thank you I have done as you said and it works then it doesn't at times. It seems rebooting and doing it over sometimes will work then printer craps out again.

So recently, I too have developed non-responsive HP 2622 printer issues on a home wireless network with my Windows 10 HP desktop. I have to assume it was due to some update (as I always take them all) because I have no clue what any of them do. After clearing out the print queue, all of the UA-cam videos seem to point to the Print Spooler, and all these videos seem to show different ways to access this area. Following these steps does, in fact, seem to resolve the issue. However, my question is why should we have to go through this annoying procedure? Why? Why hasn't this well known issue been fixed in a MS update or why hasn't this fix been incorporated into a MS Printer Troubleshooter? Thanks very much.
I followed all directions up to Stopping the printer spooler. It appears that I have failure notifications after clicking on the START button. What should I do next? Could it be that my printer (HP Deskjet 4630 series) is not compatible with my Windows 10?

the problem is that the priint spooler is nor there I cant find it is there a way to download it?
it started after a no paper error . Samsung ml2020 ( Hp provides driver for samsung) . i supplied paper no go printing. Checked spooler nothing stuck. I uninstal driver/software many times. Even did your step many times. See at the time it was very important i not restart my computer. Typically if the printer gets dysynchronous this helps. But i tried uninstalling and reinstalling before a reboot. Now the symptoms when printing. the document sees to whiz through fast through spooler ( nothing happens) typically the printer will pause power up make sounds. The documents do not error , they go nowhere!!!! nothing to cancel. Im stumped. This printer works via usb and wifi mode with other printers. I may set it up via wifi but i like the usb as it is a small convenient laser printer. please help!. i think problem may be with USB0002 as it typically sets it up there as usb port.
What if, i deleted the files in run ssytem. But it appears "cant delete because the file is open in google chrome". I already close all t abs here. Help me here pleasee
Here is one for you I have many 2019.servers all but one say print spooler and just one says spooler...why the difference in the service name.
Can you show us how to fix the same problem when the printer spooler is missing in the services.msc?

The windows\system32\spool\printers folder is empty. Still can't keep spool alive.
thanks. I was able to fix the issue. the key was to stop spooler then delete pending print files. I was not able to delete couple of pending print files as they were open.
after deleting pending print jobs I then started spooler and was able to print.

Hi. My problem has not been solved as cant delete the file that found when pressed Ctrl+A. It shows cant delete as it is open in google chrome but dont see anything on chrome.

totally i am having 5 pc all are connected with LAN , in one pc USB printer is connected and share last Copple of month i am facing problem with printing some how i share and and make it work but within a few days windows get update and block all node printer all r with win10 but one is with win8 which is not giving problem , any can help me to solve this problem

This works until I turn the computer off. This is a one day FIX. The next day when I turn the computer on I have to do this all over again to get it to print. Does anyone have a Real Full Time Fix?.. Not just a daily fix?
