- The StratoLauncher® IV Ultimate launches rockets with StratoFins, homemade fins, Fluorescent Tube Cover (FTC) rockets, gliders, and water rocket race cars (commercial or homemade) due to the nozzle it works with almost anything. Also, the StratoLauncher® IV Ultimate can be connected together creating a multi-launcher system that uses a single water and single air source for convenience and efficiency for classes and a large group of participants such as STEM events.
The StratoLauncher IV Ultimate Kit is available on our Website:

We recommend a 2 gal. (8 liter) tank sprayer (see link below):
Any tank sprayer will work, but this style has some nice features like a wide footprint so it doesn’t fall over, a pressure relief valve, builds up good pressure, but it doesn’t take much to force the water into the bottle, only about 10 pumps. A 2 gal. tank will yield 30+ launches if you are using the right amount of water, meaning only 1 cup and only fill to the score mark on the center stainless steel tube. Adding more water does not increase the height, but rather the extra water swirls around inside the bottle before exiting thus causing the rocket to be out of balance and it veers off rather than flying straight.

This video is perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. My favorite part is the action camera point-of-view shot as the rocket takes off. What's good about this video is it shows every possible way to use the system. Respect
This rocket system is spectacular - the video says it all. You can see the quality of the materials. I'm especially impressed with the multi-launch capabilities.!!
Amazing system, been using StratoFins for awhile now nothing beats them!
Just ordered one ! Can’t wait.
Nice video! Absolutely loving the rocket, has worked flawlessly!
Nice video. Water rockets are awesome. Keep innovating.
Looks pretty good! Nice and compact. :)
is there a video of how to assembly the StratoLauncher IV Deluxe I'm having a hard time especially with the break cable part
Assembly videos are planned, but unfortunately we haven’t had time to put all that together yet. Hopefully later this year. I assume you found the instructions via the QR code on the box or the URL on the paper insert. They are here if you need them although these are being revised and improved:

I responded to your email about the brake cable, but please send me more details via email and we will help you resolve it.
Quick question, I just bought a Relationshipware StratoLauncher IV Deluxe and I was wondering how to attach the parachute, what it that top that flys of the bottle?
I apologize for the delayed response. Thank you for your purchase of the StratoLauncher IV Deluxe. If I understand your questions correctly, the nose cone on top is made from a second 2 liter bottle about 3.5 - 4 inches of height from the top of the bottle including the cap. Our instruction manual for the parachute we sell provides details on making this nose cone and how to attach and deploy the parachute on a 2 liter bottle. Link below: www.stratofins.com/pdf/Parachute_Instructions.pdf I hope to finish up a new video soon that goes over making a nose cone and how to get it to deploy by placing 3 nickels under the screw-on cap of the nose cone. This added weight helps the nose cone to fall off at apogee provided no wind is blowing against it at that point. Lower wind speed 8 mph or less are always better for water rocketry especially if using a parachute otherwise drift become a big problem resulting in the lose of one's rocket or drifting off in nearby trees.
Here are 2 videos that will answer your questions

We ship Internationally so you should be able to buy on our website: www.stratofins.com/or EBay www.ebay.com/itm/111594075970and possibly on Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B071LRLBX9
I don't see in your videos how you connect a water source. Yes, there is a shot of turning a valve, but nothing about how it is connected or what it is connected to. Everything else is super detailed and easy to follow. Can you provide some details or a video with a timestamp where I can see how the water is added to the water rocket? Thank you!
Thank you for your comment. See various water source (tank sprayer and garden hose) connections below:

Connect to a garden hose: ua-cam.com/video/uEbMKYz07ZQ/v-deo.htmlsi=ZaSplpNZ4bxRLlKi&t=205 (requires a garden hose adapter)
The above connections only apply to the Ultimate model. The Standard and Deluxe models require filling the bottle with a funnel, although we do sell an Ultimate Upgrade Kit on our website that enables attaching a tank sprayer to these launchers.
@@StratoFinsthank you!!!
What's the water container you guys are using? A link or what to search for would be super useful!
I apologize for the delayed response. The recommended tank sprayer has been added to the description above with a link. This info was published under the StratoLauncher IV Ultimate assembly video.
I updated the link. It should work now. Here it is as well: www.lowes.com/pd/Roundup-2-Gallon-Plastic-Handheld-Sprayer/3031826 What you are looking for is a 2 gal. (8 liter) tank sprayer in case you need to search for it.
How did you attatch those pink streamers
The bottle cap on the nose cone is screwed over the end of the pink streamer, which is laid over the threads a bit. This secures it in place and the remaining streamer runs through the center of the nose cone. The streamer helps to locate the clear nose cone once it has fallen off the rocket at apogee and lands on a the field. That is the only purpose it serves.
My fins broke on the first day!
Sorry to hear that your StratoFins broke. We apologize for any issues you may have experienced with our StratoFins. We go to great lengths to produce superior products free from problems. Yours is a rare occurrence of breakage that we have heard of since selling over 13,000 StratoFins to satisfied customers over the past 5 years. Perhaps you received a set that had a manufacturing defect or was stressed in the injecting molding press cycle. We do sell replacement fins and attachment rings on our site www.stratofins.com for your
future reference. Also, it could have just been a fluke landing hitting a fin just right. The few times that customers have broken our StratoFins, I am always curious what happened. We tested our design vigorously to make sure they were durable and not disposable, even throwing them down on concrete fully assembled and they would not break. The StratoFins were designed to balance out a 2 liter bottle so that it would glide down and not nose dive, but that means no permanently attached nose cone.
We have employed the same set of StratoFins for thousands of launches just for fun, making videos, testing, and setting new apogee records without any breakage. A few things to keep in mind in the future to prevent any
breakage of the StratoFins:
1. It is not recommended to land on concrete or asphalt. Often they survive even these hard surfaces, but grassy areas are much better suited for longevity of both your soda bottle and the StratoFins.
2. Normally when the StratoFins are used with a fall away nose cone per the included instructions, it should not nose dive, but glide back on its side for a gentle landing. You can see this at the 1:58 minute mark of this
video entitled StratoFins History - Inception of the Screw-on Water Rocket Fins.ua-cam.com/video/_yECW_wpNqY/v-deo.htmlm58s
This can also be seen at the 1:08 min. mark of this StratoLauncher IV Ultimate video above. We do not recommend adding additional weight to the rocket itself if used without a parachute.ua-cam.com/video/uEbMKYz07ZQ/v-deo.htmlm8s
3. Optimum water fill is only about 1 cup of water for the StratoLauncher IV. If using the funnel, fill the funnel rapidly to the top with water and stop pouring when it reaches the brim. This will yield about 1 cup of water inside the bottle after the funnel has emptied. If using the, Ultimate water fill system with the tank sprayer, cease adding water when the score mark on the stainless steel tube is reached. You are welcome to experiment with a little more or less water, but 1 cup is really optimum. If you are filling the bottle up to 1/3 or 1/2 full than you will not get straight flights since this extra water swirls around and throws the rocket out of balance on liftoff. Also, if very low pressure is used with a rather full bottle, than it is apt not to lift off very high and water may remain in the bottle. This additional water weight on landing may cause the fins to break.
The StratoFins are made from durable polypropylene plastic that is stiff enough to maintain position without fluttering while under high G forces on liftoff and yet flexible enough to absorb shock on impact without
breaking provided the guidelines above are followed. Permanent nose cones, added weight to the rocket, angled trajectories and hard landing surfaces may yield breakage. Weight can always be added to a fall away nose cone, which will help in directing straight flights especially when launching in winds higher than 5 mph. Also, adding weight (metal washers) to the nose cone can aid in getting it to fall away especially when used with a parachute provided wind is not blowing against it at apogee. I hope these guidelines will help your water rockery and thank you for trying one of our many water rocketry products.
