  • After spending a lifetime in the music business, this is my first music video... It's a song I wrote from my heart for my first born son, Wyatt. I wanted him to grow up with the concept of heroes and the Singing Cowboys were and are the best place to find those heroes.

I met Rex Allen Jr. at a Marty Robbins Tribute, in Wilcox Az. that my wife, daughter, sons and I have entertained,
...he actually watched my youngest son during my slot. He was very kind, funny and his intermission show was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

This is what a country song is supposed to sound like. Way better than what they are playing today. I Love It!

My dad was a cowboy and played guitar and sang. My mom grew up in Safford, AZ. My grandmother went to school at Sunset, where her dad had a ranch. She went to school with Rex Sr. My mom saw him in a parade in Safford as a teenager and got an autographed photo of Rex Sr., which I now have since she passed. Nothing like the good old cowboy songs I dearly love.

It was exactly the same in England; Gene Autry, Tex Ritter, Hopalong Cassidy, Rex Allen, Lash Larue and Roy Rogers were our heroes in the 50's. Not forgetting George 'Gabby' Hayes of course! We also dressed as cowboys and had cap guns and bought comic books about Kit Carson, Buck Jones and Davy Crockett. Most English kids loved Americans, by the way.

I met your Dad when I was just a boy in Spokane, WA. (I'm your age.) He was at a small rodeo type event and he rode around on horseback to a fence where all the kids were waiting and I was able to shake his hand. Memories. What a beautiful song you've written. Thank You.

Thank you for this video. I grew up during the 1970's, but my dad would always find the old singing cowboy movies on TV and I would watch them with him. We would watch Gene Autry and Roy Rogers and those were the best memories of my life. I still have an autographed picture of Roy Rogers on Trigger that my dad got when he was a teenager in the 1930's. My dad was a working cowboy that trained cutting horses so cowboys, singing or not, have and always will be my heroes.

Rex, I first heard his song about 10 years ago and its become one of my all time favorites. I'm 58 and grew up with"real" country and western music...not the garbage we hear on the airwaves now. This is a beautifully written song; I can relate to the Saturdays and coupons...and heros. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I've share with my son too.

Mr. Allen, Your father was my ideal western music singer. His music was the kind of western music that I favored above all others. I am so grateful that you also became a western music artist. This song of yours: "Where Are The Heroes" speaks worlds to me about heroes for generations who grew up in earlier times. Thank you for such a beautiful song.

I heard Rex Jr. sing this song the first time at a Western film convention in Williamsburg, I think. He was just filling time before the next attraction came on. Sitting and strumming his guitar, he talked about his father's health. Apparently Rex Sr. had heart problems because of the fried foods he had eaten all his life. This wasnt too long before he got run over by his caretaker. Rex Jr. was telling about how many people would come up to him and ask why they didnt bring the old westerns back, as if Rex Jr. could do anything himself. Then he sang this song...I could picture my mind the kids coming to the theater on their bicycles...standing in line waiting for the movie...All of a sudden I felt tears coming to my eyes,,,The song had a real effect on me. I was living in Concord, New Hampshire at the time and we had cowboy movies every Saturday...Maybe not as many as the kids did down South, but they were popular.

Beautiful song, Rex. It's sad that there's a shortage of good guys for our kids and grandkids to admire - heroes who reinforce what parents teach their kids. So many celebrities today irresponsibly lead kids by their example to do the wrong things. I appreciate the sentiment in this song. Thanks for writing and producing it. Hope to see in November.

Rex Allen Jr. You might be interested to know that I've been compiling Arizona videos on UA-cam to create a playlist that functions as a video tour of the state. One of beauty and diversity, it is also accompanied by 3 videos containing your song, " I Love You, Arizona" interspersed throughout the hundreds of videos that make up the playlist. The playlist shows Arizona's natural beauty, it's not about cities or towns, although some are shown, like Willcox. It might be pleasing. It also includes Arizona's Mustangs. Thank you for your Arizona song.

I grew up in England and Ireland - it may have been a never, never land - but the cowboy's moral code and indeed failings appealed to me - not every character John Wayne, Randolf Scott, or Jimmy Stewart played where all good - but they had a sense of right and wrong and that appealed to me - also liked the baddies -Lee Marvin-Lee Van Cleef, Deforest Kelly, Jack Palance -
