Ep. 16 - Issue in the Giant Pumpkin Patch {uh oh!}

I now have estimated weights on both the 2501 Bernstrom and 1005 Clementz giant pumpkins. Plants and pumpkins are getting bigger, but not quite as fast as I would like. I discovered an issue with the 1005 Clementz giant pumpkin, which I show a close-up in the video and explain what I have done to hopefully get it to survive the rest of the season. The farm plant (1931 Turner) might actually be turning it around, but has a lot of growing to do. The temperatures in the forecast look very favorable for maximum giant pumpkin growth!!!

I sure hope so. Thanks for the positive thoughts. I hope once it does pick up to its peak, it keeps that growth going for a long time. I have heard of 2,000 pound pumpkins that never got the huge gains, but kept decent gains going for a long time.
