The hiss is not a bug. Its the room tone adding up. You should watch the walkthrough since they have a nice tip on how to remove it using the adsr controls for the lowpass.
@Hydrogen Because the hiss can take up a little too much space in the spectrum or headroom. Other instruments are using the same frequencies perhaps. Etc. Etc...
@Hydrogen Sure! I do agree with that. But it still completely depends on the project/score you're producing. And the adsr function is not cutting the frequenties immediately like an eq. Its much more transparent and organic sounding anyway. If you dial it in just the right amount it wont even affect the sound of the percussion and room. They recommend attenuate it especially when the drums are compressed heavily which brings the noise floor up even more. But hey, some will use it, some won't. Everyone should completely decide that for themselves and their needs.
@@AlexMoukala Audio Ollie is releasing an update this week so that when selecting the standard stereo preset, the EQ and effects will be off so it will be an out of the box sound. I think there is +3dB at 7.5k as default at the moment.
Alex, I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now and you are such a talented composer. The more I listen to your music the more I fall in love with it. When I first started composing orchestral music a couple months ago I was extremely discouraged by the fact that I was an FL user; and you gave me hope. You inspire me so much to keep sticking to my passion of being a composer, and it means so much more than you can imagine. You’ve made a huge impact in my life with music. Your music sends chills through my body and I always think, “how does he do it?”. I know that progress will come with time and I’m only 16 but I know that some day I’ll be composing film scores with you in Abbey Road Studios. I just want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me wether it be inspiring me to get through a tough day or actually finish my projects; even if you don’t know it. Sorry this comment is so long, but thank you Alex.
Saw your Pirates of Carribean remake on Reddit. You're so amazing dude. I've tried producing a couple tracks, but I have so much to learn. You're an inspiration. I've also dabbled in FF and equally terrible.
Amazing rhythms, Alex!! In your earlier videos, how did you manage to copy all the modwheel-datas (dynamics & expression) from i.e. french horns to trombones in FL20 ? This method would save my wrist, because it's much modwheel "painting" with so many instruments. Thank you!
Hey Alex! I've been watching your videos forever now, I'm a frequent commenter! I love all the hard work you do! I've just came across this problem that and I've been away from Kontakt quite awhile now! I was wondering if you knew any Brass Libraries with Legitimate sustained Brams! I'm in a little time crunch right now and wanted to see what you could consider! I checked out Metropolis ark 3, but the Brams are not sustained! I can't recall any libraries with longer sustained brams
Rock on! I hope one day to see you doing soundtrack to a video game like Final Fantasy or perhaps an Elder Scrolls given the talent I see in your videos, and hear in my ears. I use Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio myself, how does it compare with FL Studio?
Hi there Alex this way of playing the drums is correct? or you can go off key programming them?. Even if they are percussion sounds. Because in a sort of way is a very smart and humanized thing, you know. But is correct even in this method?. Of course like you I usually program them with mouse and keyboard. Regards, Manuyel.
Hey, Alex! Thx for your tutorials. What would you suggest as analogue to LA Modern Percussion library? And I see that you are using M-Audio Keystation 49 MkIII. Did you connect it to your PC via USB or to M-Audio M-Track Plus Midi In? And one more question. Has M-Audio M-Track Plus enough power for headphones like yours DT770 Pro 250 Omh?
Not sure I understood the first question. I use my m-track plus with USB, but in this video I'm using a MidiTech i2 Mini 32. The M-Track plus is enough for me, though I don't listen to music at super high volumes anyway
Good can you do a video for beginners to start doing orchestra chords like ( I may sound dumb how I explain) how they do Chords patterns over and over but then rose to the occasion and come back down mellow but can go right back up anytime .... please please
I thought I'm the only one who play percussion on keys instead pads. But I would never play so hard :-P (by the way when it comes to pads I use them to change different articulations)
Great video! I just wanted to watch a tutorial about cinematic percussion and then I got the notification. Ps. Do you know any good soundtracks that use orchestra + hip-hop/trap percussion. I want to make a piece similar to The Great Mound Battle from Black Panther, but I need something to listen to for inspiration (I'm not a fan of normal hip-hop but that orchestra + hip-hop hybrid is brilliant). Thank you!
Sadly I don't, but I think you should definitely try diving deep in trap and see if you find something you like. Check out my friend Krale's track "No Glory", that might be a good starting point (cinematic trap)

Strike force or LA Modern percussion? thats the question
I think they're two completely opposite things.
Strikeforce: wide, sharp & washy hybrid sound
LA Modern Perc: bold, warm & thick organic sound
Why is there a loud noise in the beginning? And there's 0:42. And here it is 1:10.
These percussion sounds amazing! Do You record drums without metronome?
I usually write them manually with mouse and keyboard.
In this case I was just playing around with the lib with no metronome
