Everything happens for a reason. The fact we can't comprehend the reason that started existence, but there IS an answer, means the answers must be absolutely mind blowing and out of this world.
I went on a train ride through Titusville, Pennsylvania which is home to the first ever commercial oil well, drilled in 1859. They showed us pictures of what the land looked like back then. All the trees were cut down and vegetation was decimated as the oil industry moved it. Fires also affected the area. For example: June 11, 1880, came to be known as "Black Friday" when almost 300,000 barrels of oil burned after an oil tank was hit by lightning. The fire raged for three days until it finally was brought under control.
The CRAZY thing is that YOU WOULD HAVE NO IDEA any of that took place there. It’s just an absolutely beautiful forest now with a train running along a creek. So, Chris’ hypothesis about human civilization being COMPLETELY buried over time is plausible.

Regarding education, we forget that most people used to live on family farms and had to get up early for farm chores. Up until relatively recent history, we didn’t have electricity and lived by the sun. Gotta get up early to milk and feed the animals and than get home early for more chores before the sun goes down.

Chris, thanks for talking about the connection between corporate industry tycoons, and big monied elite interest, in the formation of American education systems. Industry moguls of the time (like the Rockefellers, and other significant figures) bankrolled the creation AND the intentions of the boards wich were constructed within the prestigious collegiate institutions who were responsible for the formational structuring of our 'state mandated compulsory schooling' (John Taylor Gatto) systems. Many scholars/historians have investigated and written much about this. The main object, and primary function, of our systems of education was most certainly, and explicitly, an experiment in the social programming of the minds of American youth which was bent towards the conformity, obedience and the dumbing down of the American population, with the goal of the unquestioned maintenance and reproduction of the capitalist status quo, in the hopes that the long-term continuation of wealth inequality, and the uninterrogated motives of elite economic supremacy, would remain unquestioned and remain to be propagated (if u don't believe me just read the relevant primary sources). Chris u were right about this! And as far as I can tell it's been workin out pretty fuckin expertly.
Our system was in fact modeled after the Prussian system. Once again u were right Chrissy. The central figure here was a prominent academic, and one time U.S. House of Representatives member, HORACE MANN. Sponsored by corporate funding he spent time in Prussia studying and admiring the fascist Prussian educational system, and their achievements in social indoctrination, and then brought back to America as much as he could which was applicable and beneficial to the power elites of our society at the time and their inheritors.
There's already too much here to expound upon in a simple comment to a video. I never leave comments but u touched on a subject that's near to my own personal concerns as having been a product of this system, as having worked for years within this system and as having spent a great deal of time investigating this system, not to mention being the father of a child within this system.
As a fellow parent I thought u'd appreciate an 'at-a-boy' for talking about this and as a fellow history buff I thought u'd like some corroboration. I would also like to leave u with some further recourses to expand upon, and to tighten up, your arguments in regard to this isssue. NOT TO MENTION THAT THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT CHRISTORIES SEGMENT...
