    I was there in1966 when IT was going down, I've been in both bars and one night they were expecting a RAID and they came around and picked up some people's whiskey bottles and put a number on them until it was over, I had lots of fun working in JACKSON TN.

    I’m beginning to be surprised that the movie didn’t have Buford arresting Lee Harvey Oswald.

    When I was stationed at Ft Benning, GA, I heard stories about Phonex City, AL. It was just across the river. The stories I heard were from the 40 or 50's. This was the 1980, they made it seem like it was last year. Funny how these stories grow a life of their own.

    Love your program Mike, especially when Dennis sits in. I have a question for Dennis; In 1981 I bought my wife's wedding ring (which she still wears today) at Jimmy's Jewelry in Corinth Mississippi; I was told that Jimmy was a Hathcock. If so, how was he related to you? Thank You and keep up the great work!

    My hometown was Corinth MS. The state line's notoriety was well earned. I remember when the Tennessee Patrol parked cars and troopers outside to warn folks to stay away because of the danger inside. More than bootlegging going on. This was in the mid fifties and before Pusser. I personally knew most of Corinth's bootleggers and they were just selling an illegal product by paying the special tax to the sheriff. AKA bribe. Not so the Hathcocks on the state line. Jack and Louise were the scum of the earth and were more than willing to place knock out drops in the unfortunate clientele and rob them.

    • @bufordpusser1122
      @bufordpusser1122  Місяць тому +3

      No one is saying Jack and Louise were angels. The place had been bad for years. The point is that Buford claimed to have "cleaned up the state line." What did he do? This purpose of this video was to explain that there were only two establishments on the Tennessee side of the state line, the Shamrock Motel and the White Iris, during Buford's reign as Sheriff of McNairy county and only two people he had to deal with, Toehead White and Louise Hathcock. Tishomingo County Sheriff arrested White for the "three state moonshine operation" and sent him to federal prison. Buford then had to contend with only Louise Hathcock, who he killed just prior to the IRS taking the state line properties to satisfy the lien they held for non payment of taxes. Hathcock's family member say that Buford killed her so he could search the property for money she allegedly had hidden there. So, the point of the video is to show that Buford did not clean up the state line as he claimed.

      @@bufordpusser1122 She posed with photos beside the casket. Like Uncle Jed's says that takes the rag off the bush. Who does that? The front page of the paper in Selmer was full of lies that the family was unified. Bad part about that Diane's son posted in a post on the Jackson Sun newspaper his Mother knew Pusser killed his grandmother. Pauline's great granddaughter's also posted on the Jackson Sun they didn't know nor have they ever been around any of the family nor did they know what happened. The Vance's live in a land of butterflies and unicorns about the whole Pusser story. You would think when they weren't recognized in Pusser's will it would have been a clue they weren't anything to him. Yet they defend a man they never knew. That bunch is hard to figure out. One thing for sure Dwana' raised her children to tell the same lies that she had fantasies of. I have flipped through her book at a resale store in Henderson and it's just lie after lie. I think her demise was due to all the lies. She just couldn't handle it anymore. Money wasn't coming in fast enough.

    No faith in the TBI they had this case for 57 years just now getting serious give this case to the GBI please. Nancy Drew could have solved this early on

    • @bufordpusser1122
      @bufordpusser1122  Місяць тому

      The TBI of today is not the same TBI of the 60's This is a case they didn't have to take on, however, they did and I commend them for it. They had to start from scratch, find witnesses that should have been interviewed years ago. I assume they did as I have in reconstructing the alleged ambush. Finding records and information from almost 60 years ago isn't easy, especially when you still have to work your current case load.

    • @David-pt6zk

      @@bufordpusser1122 I not so sure bout the TBI.... Mike you have done more investigating than the TBI ever did and until they interview Dennis and his buddy this is a sham and a shame shoddy police work or cover-up 101. I suggest the TBI watch the film Murder in Coweta Co Ga this happened in 1948 the GBI had this case solved and the murder executed by 1950 this film was watched by my father and he said it was right on point he was a teenager then growing up in Coweta Co TBI could benefit by watching this film Lets have Justice for Pauline or let the GBI have this case

    • @Rockjunkie
      @Rockjunkie Місяць тому

      GBI has just as much going as the TBI. I can't see how one would be any better than the other. I would bet with the Pusser case as soon as one thing is figured out they find something else just as bad. Ray Blanton and his associates had a lot of bad deals going at the time. His first wife did an interview years ago. He was into a little bit of everything.

    • @David-pt6zk
      @David-pt6zk Місяць тому

      Remember one thing here.... The TBI of today will cover for the TBI of yesterday keep that in mind the GBI shut down the Kingdom in Merriweather Co Ga in 1948 that was unheard of they don't care who you are or who you think you are let them have this case it is right down their alley and it would be a non bias independent investigation

      @@lisawatkins8134 you are exactly right. I'm in my 60's and I know exactly that Dennis is saying is 100 💯 true. My Daddy worked for the equivalent of TDOT in the day and people laughed their butts off at Pusser. He didn't dare get on the new I40 because the state troopers didn't go for all his drunk and wreckless driving. The Kirby woman is so ridiculous she stole my lead Pearl is alive and posted the photo on another Pearl Wade on find a grave. Even asked did you live in McNairy County or know Pusser. Now you tell me how a dead woman in Alabama is going to answer. It's almost comical if not ridiculous. No dog in the race but Dennis knows what he's talking about. The Foster lady was a child and goes on the museum or Pusser heroes lies. SMDH
