I've never been a " preper " but my late grandfather always told me to keep dry/tinned food and water and gas stove in the house, have done now for over 30 years..also a log burning stove. Candles, lighter, matches and never leave home without my swiss army UK legal edc knife. Even have a small toolbox plus leads and a jump pack in my car. Used it loads..but to help others out:) plus oat bars , water and sleeping bags/blankets and a mobile 300w power station..all fits under, behind my driver's seat. I think I am now a real prepper;) Enjoy your informative videos sir 👍
Glad you enjoyed your weekend mate. I will attend the Bushcraft show one of these days, my budget makes me choose between meets and I can go to three others for the price of this one so it keeps losing out. Nice to be able to go virtually though with you guys on UA-cam 👍😁
Things are starting to add up and it certainly feels like the calm before the storm. Panic never helps so it does feel like it's all being drip fed to ease the shock of a more extreme situation. The general public unfortunately still treat prepping with a stigma and are unwilling to take measures to prepare for anything - even a power cut, let alone war. People are too comfortable to take it seriously and would rather stick their head in the sand. Making a plan and gathering supplies is just sensible, practical advice that everyone should have.
I came across a good morning tv (I don't watch tv) show talking about the gov prep campaign and it was embarrassing and derogatory towards preppers and prepping in general. That's where the stigma comes from even now.
Too many channels look at events and state with absolute certainity what it means. The truth is we don't know until we know. Your analytical humility is appreciated.
Got to be honest, between freezers and cupboards, I would have thought that most people probably have got close to 3 months. The biggest problem is that most people will chuck out a tin that is a week out of date, not realising that it's still good for a number of years.
At the *very least* 3 months. That’s actually being underprepared in my opinion. I planned for at least the next decade including a family on top of my own caloric requirements.
Norway just increased self preparedness from 3 days to 1 week today, which includes 20L water storage per person. Weather has been pretty unpredictable and extreme, but the advice is also due to the current unstable geopolitical situation.
Norway has been on 3 days since 2018, so it is a big change in advice today. Tensions are building up here too, but not at the scale like the UK. Sweden has been advised 1 week since 2020. Interesting to see what advice other countries in Europe have been, or will be, announcing.
I don’t go food shopping every three days I do a weekly shop for bread; milk etc and I monthly shop for food that last longer so this advice to have three days or even a week is a joke who doesn’t have a week’s worth of food in their pantry?
@Helpmboab-ue5cku getting screwed by the banks. The WEF the elite running the world collapsing .deliberately raising the cost of living. And u blaming Muslims lol.ok sheep
Prepping starts when you start prepping and it isn't prepping if you're reacting. Being prepared though is a different thing all together I feel. It's a lifestyle of living with the seasons and doing what you can when you can to have full cupboards on a minimal budget along with the tools and equipment that makes daily life simple with minimal disruption. It's why alot of my equipment is now hand equipment rather than electric. Don't get me wrong I love my food processor and blender I truly do but I have hand alternatives that although it may take a little more work I can still do everything I want or need to do with no issues.
Great info as usual. Definitely reaching a point where those who aren’t prepping-focused are going to be in a hard place in the near future. It’s just inevitable at this point.
@@everydayprepper So why do you keep saying that phrase in your videos? I don't think that it's helpful in any way, that term needs to be banned, it's something that the sheeple still cling to , to dismiss us critical thinkers who are sharing truths at the end of the day.
@@steveclark.. Sorry but there are also some totally batshit crazy theories out there that I don't subscribe to so the phrase still works for me. Each to their own.
@@everydayprepper What sounds like a batshit crazy theory today often becomes true within 6 months so how can you really know/tell? In Australia, we think that we are safe far away and insignificant on the world stage, and that is basically the extent of our preparedness plan for the population. We are so unprepared here it isn't funny..
I know everyone is worrying about world war 3 and that seems to be the only topic of discussion among preppers. Around the same time as the new government website was launched and the emergency supply Notice went out, and the election was brought forward...... in italy there was a meeting of the mayor's, not in italy but in Rome, this was due to a M5 earthquake at Campei Flegrei, and there has been alot of online interest and videos posted, plus the uk was not the only country who's government advised an emergency supply of food and water, several other countries over the past year have revised their emergency preparedness advice. What ever is going on at the moment, do not discount natural disasters.
I would never have a SMART meter. But guess what, I also know exactly how much I'm using. I have this amazing concept called mathematics. 😮😮😮 I multiply the units used by the unit price (plus the daily charge) and hey presto, I know what I've used
Yes it’s easy enough to read a standard electric meter over several days to get an idea of how much electricity is being used on a daily basis. A smart meter doesn’t save you money only using less electricity save you money. Anyway I’m time shifting energy from cheap rate overnight and using it during the day by charging a solar generator overnight and supplementing it with solar power during the day.
Jesus I remember 2013 when all todays news was told and “preppers” were seen as crazy and those that called out the phrase”tin foil hat” are now a reckless stock piler with zero idea 😂
All a pile of poo -oh ook here comes a fan!!! Anyone else recognise the phrase in Prepare website, for what to do it an event happens??? "To in. Stay in. Then in" ??? Same phrase on New York buses, Public service announcement last year for what to do in a nuke incident 😥 Think they trying to tell us something??? 🤔 Prep On People! 😎

Thank you. Yep, old school preparedness. In the 70's and 80's we always a whole lamb in the freezer, sack of potatoes in the pantry, spare fuel etc.

It's so the government can tell people they've warned them and they didn't listen.

Great vid Steve! Thank you for the mention 😊 I will be definitely topping up my preps as discussed.
The earlier one start to prep, the better and cheaper, because everything going up Weekly and one can't have to much...😮
Hey, I saw some photos on Ana's IG. I love ❤️ Ana, she's great 👍🏾 👌 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
She's a lovely genuine person, very knowledgable. We will hopefully doing some more videos or content together too.
3 days of supplies is nowhere near enough for any emergency situation. It would be best to have at least 3 month's worth in my opinion.
Got to be honest, between freezers and cupboards, I would have thought that most people probably have got close to 3 months. The biggest problem is that most people will chuck out a tin that is a week out of date, not realising that it's still good for a number of years.
Or cook a whole chicken and only eat the breast!

The time to prep is whenever you have the cash, time and knowledge. Then and always. Now should just be 'topping up' on what you already have.
These are worrying times indeed. It would be worth bugging out of the cities if or as soon as the military exchanges take place
Agree with that. Not an easy move but could be necessary.
Really interesting video mate and likewise, great to meet you at the weekend. Really looking forward to next year ☺🤙
Everything you've just said about Rishi is exactly what I've been saying since the election announcement and beforehand come to that.
Great video. 👍

Thanks for that info, that's a very important change. I wonder if that will spill into the other nations advisories.

I know Preppers that are now doing a surge in procurement of food and equipment. Same here. Late July will be the telling time.
Why do you say late July?
3 days food notification was just a nudge. If they had said any longer, it would create panic.
Very true.
