This is the first version of the Allemande on bass I've found and it beats any Bach Suites played on frettless bass i've seen on youtube, beautiful intonation.
Thanks!! Glad you liked. There's some really good ones I have found, but usually is with fretted basses.
great
Thanks
Fantastic!!!

thank you, I enjoyed a lot studying it and playing it. And I think there is still a world to improve to play it well yet. Thank you for the kind words.
Love it 💕
I'm glad you like it Ri
Delightfully baroque
I have the same bass! Great playing Bruno!!!
Awesome! How you like yours?
@@LaCasitaDeLosMangos i love it
Your rubato is the telltale sign of superior musicianship...well done!
Thank you so much! I actually felt that I need to work on that, but still thank you
You've been working! Nice job on a difficult piece.
Thank you Greg, I promise I also been working on the Bach that we are going to play.
I like your style homie!
Thank you!
^^ 잘 들었습니다.
glad you liked it
Amazing playing and phrasing! Bass sounds great too (I have the same one :) )
Thank you Todd, how you been liking yours? Have you recorded anything with it?
@@LaCasitaDeLosMangos Trust me, Todd LOVES his SRH!
lovely playing!
i love that sweater! where did you get it?
It's a Peruvian sweater I got it in a small shop in Lima
Brilliant playing and amazing idea to play Cello suite 1 on bass. I see complex positions for fingers from time to time. Don't you think to tune a bass by all 5th intervals instead of all 4th ?
I tried it once, it was still not that comfortable, I think if I was to use open strings then 5ths would help a lot, but some.of.the chords with that tuning would still be difficult. I think also playing it on fretless has given some extra difficult
@@LaCasitaDeLosMangos Thanks !
Hinis that short scale? Beautiful
No, it’s a 34”.
I see fender jb in background! How can you compare this Ibanez and fender in term of quality of sound? Is it possible to play Bach on fender jb with let’s say muting a string near a bridge in order to emulate acoustic sound ?
Very different basses, not only one fretless and the other one not. But also one has a hollow body and piezo pickups. So for me the fretless has a sound closer to a double bass. Really nice round sound, not the best sustain comparable with other basses because of the pickups, but I like it. The fender has a lot more of a modern bass sound, active pickups, good for slap bass, funk bass, playing chords.
Thank!
@@konstantin7869 you are welcome, are you thinking on buying one of those?
Basically, I have JB. But I like Bach suites and it seems to me fretless holoybody is ideal choose based on your recording ! Thanks a lot for your work !
what if ya had flat wound tape wound strings
I'm not 100% sure I have never tried them yet, but from having heard those strings on other basses, I would imagine it would get even more of a upright bass sound. But still what I have found with this bass is that it lacks a little bit on sustain, compared to other style of fretless bass because of it pick ups. But maybe someone else from chat can tell us more
Thanks for the video!
Great control over the fingerboard.
Perhaps it's time to take some liberty when playing the low notes by sustaining them a bit and decelerating the approach and getting back into the tempo.
Like the last note of the piece but of course not so long and not with the chords.
I think you are right, I do think I could hold on more those long low notes, thank you for the feed back.
What strings do you use?
I am not sure, they are still the original strings the bass came with. So they are flat strings Ibanez srh500f. I hope that helps
@@LaCasitaDeLosMangos it does. They are D’Addario Chromes I believe
@@cliffburton333 Awesome! Now I know which one to buy to change the same sound. Thank you!
De huevos man!
Gracias Héctor, tú haz seguido tocando?
I don’t think Bach will be rushing back to write a piece for the fretless bass. 😢
Fretless basses like the plectrum. Will sound much better with a pick than with the flesh.
I can try it out, me personally feel like I have more control and different tones with my fingers, but now that I am studying another movement I will try with a pick
@@LaCasitaDeLosMangos It sounds great finger-style. Never mind the pick
@@WyattLite-n-inn I actually tried a little with a pic, and ehat I felt is that the sound ended up sounding to metallic, and had a hard time trying to make frases sound legato. But well it was a good experiment, just not the sound I was looking for.
The instrument sound doesn't seem to fit the piece at all. I'd give you high marks for intonation and dynamics, phrasing is middling. I don't know where exactly I am each phrase (despite knowing this piece!), but in turn that may have to do with the fast decay of this sound you're playing with. I actually just got the SRF705 but I can't play it at all yet, just giving some honest feedback.
Beautiful!
Thank you! Glad you like it
