Dude that is so spot on! I actually have 3 pillars in my life: 1. Showing up is like 90% of success. 2. Begin again. This one is from "Waking up" book by Sam Harris. Suppose that you showed up at the gym, but feel yourself so bad that you can barely complete just a single exercise. That must not stop you. Just begin again next time. Or try to do that last set as hard and good as possible. 3. Compound interest (like in stocks). Those tiny bits sum up and eventually you will get an exponential return on your effort. Just stay consistent.
OOO I love this. Waking up by Sam Harris is on my list now. Just finished rereading Psychology of Money and the power of compounding was driven home to me. Humans have a really hard time picturing/preparing for exponential growth. Trying to keep that top of mind
In investing, with compound interest and time, 300k is halfway to a million. Early gains are considered important because there isn't real consideration given to a ceiling on the upside. In exercises in which there is a limit to the marginal utility of each additional unit, the thing that makes the most sense is durability, not losing gains because you overcompensated to the point you begin decompensating.
I feel it's really rare that self-development creators actually bring something new to the table (because most things have been said already, I suppose). But you totally did, and I feel like I learnt something new! Nailing the content, dude. 🤩 Keep it up!
The advice i always give to people that want to become fit is . . . . to choose an activity you like. Every sport makes your body healthier and choosing a sport that you like makes it fun.
Excellent production, respectful of the viewer's time, incredible delivery!! Here to see you succeed, and I wish you every bit of happiness and success in this endeavour!
Excellent video. But Minihabits was such a GREAT book . Please do one on Minihabits. It is the most underrated book and changed my life in such an easy way. I went from an exercise hater to someone who LOVES to exercise every day. Great editing!! 💞
I felt like the book regurgitated a lot of principles already mentioned in awesome classic books, but in a trendy way. If it helps people, I'm cool with it. I prefer simple workbooks, like the meditation workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels, that I find more practice for my life.
This video was great and really helpful, I ended up buying the book because I love having more information. Let’s just say I personally found the book to be extremely repetitive and hardly actually explaining how to apply it, this video gets a 10/10 but I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone actually get the book. (I read often but genuinely have never been so irritated by a book :’)
Hahhaha thank you, im glad you enjoyed the video. You are right though the book is a bit repetitive. Core of it can be summed up in maybe 10-20 pages. Orrrrr a short youtube video :D.
Welp, i'm back after 2 weeks of applying "elastic habits" and I must say it works wonder! I managed to keep a 2-week streak for all four habits of mine! On my "bad" days I still carried on with the easiest option and now every time I look back on my habit tracker I would be proud for not giving up at that time :)
Watching at 533 subscribers. Thoughts and takeaways: Really like the concept of showing up vs showing off.(definitely going to check out this book) I wish you all the consistency on your 2 yr vid per week goal. Lastly that little hand pointing to you (at around 7-8 min)from the corner was a bit creepy.
Wow! 569 new followers in 2 weeks! Or more accurately 570, because I am going to hit that button, too 👍 Great video! I will try that habit- and tracking method. I think my elite tracker is a third slash so it becomes a star 😊
An excellently insightful way of building habits. I haven't seen anything like this on youtube... Im here before this guy reaches 1mil subs. When you reach 1mil subs, please don't forget about me.
Is there also some advice for quitting habits - like for example eating less (chocolate and the like), biting your fingernails etc. in the elastic habits book? (I also take advice from the comments section - don't be shy, just be kind!)
I have a mountain full of advice for all things quitting habits. To be honest, no, elastic habits is more focused on creating rather than breaking. My favorite book for breaking habits is The Little Book of Big Change by Amy Johnson.
I came up with a way to use this strategy for breaking bad habits. Reverse the order. So, let’s say you 2 chocolate bars a day. Your tiny win could be eat 1/2 a bar less (1.5 bars) this should feel nice and easy. Your next win could be to eat only 1 bar. Your mega win, the one that really moves them needle, could be to eat zero. This way, every situation leads to you eating less chocolate but there isn’t the pressure to go from eating it to nothing. This autonomy can make it easier to cut back. As time goes on you can change your targets until you’re at a point you’re happy with. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions.
One good habit to adopt is building on another book’s wisdom rather than tearing it down in your title and first part of the video. Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll skip this book if that’s what it’s about.
All I say in the beginning is "You've tried Atomic Habits but it doesnt work" Isnt necessarily tearing it down. The title is tearing it down but thats just to get peoples eyes.
I don’t think he was saying that the book itself sucks is so much as the idea of making your habits “atomic“ sucks. I didn’t take him literally unlike you. I cannot believe that is what you would rather focus on as opposed to learning. LMAO. That’s your problem.

Sounds dumb but its true.
Loved your video... Though the background music was irritating for me , subscription done
Thats great constructive feedback. Was it the volume of the background music or the type of music?
Now you have 339 subcribers

@@Willysan And you just proved my point perfectly.
How 4?
How 4? Did I make a mistake somewhere?
So someone can't write a book without tearing down someone else. Good way for me to never read this book.
Sadly next to nobody clicked the video without the negative spin in the title. Only person tearing people down is me, not the author :).
@@Willysandid you even read the book ? It’s about systems not fucking habits???

Did yall actually read atomic habits or did yall just spark notes the ideas 😂😂
It is just to draw peoples eyes. I love atomic habits, how could I not
@@Willysan or tell them to read the book
