Imagine being 16 years old and buying a Tupac CD not knowing you’re going to hear this. Blew my mind all those years ago. Fantastic artist.

I was 20 when it dropped and it had my jaw slack and my eyes blurry the whole time... I'm 53 now and it still has that effect on me!

The part where he carries Brendas baby and takes her away even tho it’s not his baby is so powerful. It’s like he’s showing us he’s willing to help society.

    • @brileygabriel4949

In the beginning of the song when the first guy says, "That's not our problem. That's up to Brenda's family" and Pac replied, "But let me show you how it affects our whole community!" Then you have that last scene you mentioned, of Pac walking away with the baby....I think Pac was trying to show that the community is left to raise the child... but if only the community, in reality, were as compassionate as Pac... Most likely, that child will go into the "system" where she will go from foster home to foster home, suffering the same type of abuse her mother did and end up multiplying herself times four or five.... creating ever more Brendas...

Sad fact is, this story happens too often. Just search for "baby in a dumpster" on Google news, and you'll see. If you come across the one in Austin a few years back, that was in my old neighborhood. I didn't know the people, but I knew the apartment building well.

This is why #Tupac is considered as the greatest the rapper of all time. It wasn't just because of his talent, its more because of how his music made people feel.

Great reaction brother. Kids today will never understand how much of a privilege and honor it was, to grow up on 90s hip hop. Artists like Pac were literally center stage. We weren't having the industry machine shovel crap down our throats all day long. I still can't watch this video and not cry for that young girl. Makes me mad.

    Great reaction man!!
Tupac was definitely more than just the average rapper!
A cultural Icon, Voice and Symbol of HipHop.
He used his voice to speak up for the voiceless, He brought light into the darkness, the inner cities.. the streets. He was always for the minorities, the oppressed, the underdogs! His music was there to affect change within society. He wanted to see his people and others to grow, he strove for unity and for communities to evolve!
His music wasn't always beautiful, rather raw but honest. He always spoke about the raw side of reality and life.
Till this day.. his music is still relevant.
Tupac was around 19-20 when he wrote this song. Basically a youth wrote this song.
Next reaction of his should be - "Keep Ya Head Up".

Its always awesome to see how people (like you) open their minds to other genres. I grew up on AC/DC and Rammstein and I used to say rap is always the same and requires no talent. I was so wrong. Until I discovered it 2 years ago and now i'm a Hip Hop head. I love this genre now and I still listen to rock or other things.
Its way better when you open yourself for other music, its always a win.
