Something people have pointed out since I posted this is that the wording on rule RSC4 is vague and has two interpretations. "Teams may only utilize the blue Rings as Top Rings on Stakes". This can be interpreted as blue rings can only be used to fulfil the top ring role, or top rings can only be blue. This video uses the latter interpretation.
Great video. It is vague, but I think it means the former. RSC4 describes rules for blue rings. For less capable teams it would be difficult for them to score red and blue rings so it would be hard for them to get any top ring scores. Vex likes to make it progressively harder to score more points. e.g. a small percentage of teams will be able to remove the blue rings from the stakes so they can score on them.
just based on how it would impact lower-skill teams i don't think only blue rings can count as top rings. both interpretations make sense but qna is probably gonna rule for red and blue rings as the top ring.

@@stevejohnson2052 I don't think we'll know till the q and a drops. Both interpretations are reasonable.
colors on stakes is so confusing
Is there any points for alliance stakes? Is it just red, or both red and blue? Or neither
Nothing stating they are scored differently than in a match, I would just assume you put rings on them like any other stake.
thank you for this video.

It’s one of the things I’ll be asking as soon as it opens.
