  • As a final check before the vintage car race this weekend we took the Fiat 124 Spider that my uncle built to the dyno. Before the dyno pull we changed it out the carburetor jets to lean it out a bit.
Check out some photos: / jalaube_cars
    Results:
    150hp @ 7.64k RPM
    110ft-lb @ 7k RPM
    About 180hp at the crank
    Specs:
Tires: TOYO Proxes RA1, 205/60-13 for Vintage
    Headers: custom 4-1, 1.9” 36” primaries.
48 IDFs, big valves, big cams, 12mm dome Venolias.

I'm very pleased with my estimate before I saw the charts. Four carbs + header = cam = 147bhp, 2.7bhp short. These cars are deep in my veins though a set of springs and Konis are the furthest I ever got.

woah! 150 at the wheels? very nice! My fiat is pretty strong, and it is like 125-130 at the wheels.

Where did you get those wheels? They look amazing on the car. I have abarth style wheels on my ‘80 which I love but these really fit the body lines of the car.

HisLordStigness it’s my uncles car, he’s in Colorado so I probably won’t get a chance to see it much unless I come to his races.

sad to see IDFs on there that bend on the intake manifold will always limit the intake flow, Ive built many of these engines more then any other type of motor my current project I expect to get around 250HP NA but its a little of an extreme build compared to most with a stroker crank and over sized pistons ending up with 2207cc DCOEs which might be switched out for FI throttle bodies
