If you like that "east-meets-west" kind of sound you should check out an album called "the Edges of Twilight" by The Tea Party, it's a Canadian band and they incorporate dozens of types of eastern musical modes and instruments in their stuff. It's totally different than CocoRosie mind you, much closer to flat out rock music, but a thoroughly impressive group. They have 2 very different styles and they are both great! Everyone doesn't need to sound like they have had a vocal coach classically train them, you know.
