    biscuits soften when they go stale, cakes get harder when stale, so jaffa cakes qualify as cakes as demonstrated in court.

    • @DavidZ4-gg3dm
      @DavidZ4-gg3dm 9 місяців тому +4

      Yes, they're thin, disc-shaped, sponge cakes which are half-covered in chocolate. However, you'll often find them shelved with biscuits. The court case was important because (at least at the time) there's VAT on biscuits but not cakes.

    25:38 "Meet Ricky Gervais", is actually rather funny for a meet & greet chat show. It had ridiculous skits too. He famously had Jimmy Savile on there (who was later revealed as one of the most evil men in showbiz after his death). The show sadly can't go on here, they pull it down after a week or so. Hard to come by too now, especially that episode.

    It cracks me up that Jaffa was actually ruled on by a court. I think it was only once or twice in life that I thought it would be odd and ridiculous, but interesting if something so small and insignificant and common would be ruled on by a court. But sure enough, here it is.
    Karl has a thing for Elephant Man.
    Round of applause to Rusty Dog for all the research done for these videos. i. e., the part about curcumin. No wonder it takes him 4 to 6 hours to make these videos (plus the fact the episodes are an hour long). Most people don't realize how long it takes to edit, or what it entails to do what Mandy (and now Rusty) does. So if anyone is wondering why Mandy now takes some days off, sometimes (besides next week), that's why. Well, plus Sunday is a good day, to many people, to take off, anyway. It's tedious and long to edit videos. That's why people hate editing. And then, the fact you gotta learn SO much to be able to edit. But, hooray for the research, cause it's nice that these videos are educational, along with entertaining.
    41:10 Gareth Gates ...... Me ..... No relation. ............... Bill Gates .... Me .... No relation....... Henry Louis Gates Jr. .... Me. ..... No relation. ........ Dang it! Who do I get to claim?! 😄😂
    Home Improvement was a good show. I watched it all the time. And the side kick for their "show within a show," the Tim the Tool Man Taylor part ... so, that would be the guy with the plaid shirt ... that plaid shirt is a play on Norm Abram from This Old House and The New Yankee Workshop (on PBS). I watched both of those shows, as well. Norm Abram would always wear plaid shirts. And by the way, Norm's famous line on The New Yankee Workshop was (the shop safety part, at the beginning of each episode), "There is no more important safety rule than to wear THESE safety glasses." "These," as he points to the glasses. So one time, Richard Trethewey, the plumber on This Old House, he had to say the same thing for something he was about to do, and he said it comedically. It WAS funny. I was waiting for someone on This Old House to do that, and Richard did it.
    And, thank goodness the heat might be letting up. Mandy, I prayed for you. I've been SO concerned. Her heat dome equals deep fryer oven, like my polar vortex equals deep freezer.

    • @CMDRRustyDog
      @CMDRRustyDog 9 місяців тому +2

      Exactly. It is her space. If they only want the video they can go watch the originals (so to speak).
      If Mandy posts a 20min video and it's a 3 min video reaction and 17mins of Mandy talking, then that's how it is.
      I don't understand how people don't get that. We are here for Mandy and her reaction to whatever the video happens to be.
      For me, Mandy is the benchmark in YT reactors. Take 3:58 (up until 4m43s) for example...Steve says a line which makes Mandy laugh, she pauses the video and gives her thoughts and opinions on it while having fun with it.
      THIS is how you do a reaction video. It's these moments that just seems to come so naturally to her.
      So yeah I don't get how people don't understand that this is how it works.

    The goats that "pass out" have a genetic disorder that causes them to become temporarily paralyzed when excited or startled. The paralysis is caused by a stiffening of the muscles, and the goats are completely conscious while it happens. The condition is unique to a specific breed of goats, which are known as myotonic goats or Tennessee fainting goats.

    That story about a farmer amputating his own arm with a pen knife, I think Karl may be mixing it up with that story of the mountaineer that got his arm stuck back in the early 2000s. The basis for that film "127 hours" with James Franco. That dude had to break his own arm first, because obviously you can't get through bone with a pocket knife.

    The whole "put what you hate in a room" game always made me shake my head in confusion. Like ...Or we could just say what we don't like? Seeing as there is no room and you are just doing the exact same thing lol Like what?

    • @SpeedBoost
      @SpeedBoost 9 місяців тому

      The "Room 101" concept is an homage to the George Orwell novel 1984, where the government has a "Room 101" that they use to break citizens who refuse to conform to the government's propaganda.
      So "Room 101" is used by the government interrogators ironically called "The Ministry of Love" to psychologically break people and the room is metaphorically seen as a place where "peoples hate and anger is kept".
      So the show just took that concept as a means for guests to talk about stuff that annoyed them or to publicly air out grievances (Phil Collins for example used some of his time on the show to respond to Oasis publicly criticizing him).
      It's easier to get people on to a show where it's based around an abstract concept to publicly complain, as opposed to getting them on to publicly complain with no gimmick.

      @@SpeedBoost I knew of the origin. I guess I was just confused by the thinly veiled notions tha6t humans are ok with even if they are nonsensical. They are still saying the same thing. But because there is a room in there imagination it makes it ok. It should be ok to complain anyways! lol

    That's hilarious!🤣 complaining about 'the kids these days'. Tell me you're old without telling me you're old 🤣💜 no wait, you did say you're old!😂 also, if you want something new to watch, if you haven't seen it already, try Freaks and Geeks. Cult classic from the 90s. Only one season but an amazing cast all before they were famous.

    Yeah, Tim Allen's stand up is not that good, not a bad actor but bad when he comes up with stuff on his own usually. Tim Allen started off as a coke dealer, got caught in a sting at an airport with an undercover cop then told the judge if he could get his life right he would like to be a comedian. LOL and his first role in a movie has a drug deal in an airport. He wasn't one of the main stars or anything but that is ironic. Don't bother watching his standup unless you want to see how boring it is. Might get a chuckle sometimes but ain't as good as the 90's old people thought. His whole thing is men know cars and tools and women don't.
