I gotta say, I would've loved to see more of Jenner as a pit reporter, maybe even as a play-by-play announcer (assuming we wouldn't have another Bill Weber case of being a lot better in the pits than in the booth). Jenner did some NASCAR reporting too, when NBC broadcast NASCAR events in the early 1980s. Pretty solid, I might add.
How hard is it to know where Al Unser Junior is from? In theory he should've already known where Al Senior and Bobby are from because he was announcing the year before.
Johncock's last win.The '83 Wildcat was a lemon so this win was a fluke.Rutherford crashed TWO of them at Indy and missed the race. The car sucked so bad that Patrick dragged out the '82 Wildcat for Gordy at Michigan and he promptly led much of the race before a half-shaft broke and put him in the wall, breaking his ankle and causing him to miss the rest of the season.
Gordy reduced himself to part time status after the MIS crash to 500 mile races only usually with Menard Buicks and mostly at MIS or Indy as he was born in Hastings, resided in Coldwater and Long Branch near West Branch.
@@Eibarwoman Not quite. He ran a full season in 1984 and then abruptly retired before the 85 Indy race when Patrick was going to have him run ovals only. Then after that it was just the one-off races at Indy and occasionally the other 500s through 1992 when he had second thoughts about his retirement.
Clown Show, rewatching these old races furthers solidifies the facts that these races were not genuine presentations. Molested by sponsors as is all Professional Clown Shows.
The new configuration is too much like Las Vegas.......I don't think IndyCar is going to risk these mile and a half ovals again...... Texas may be the last mile/half oval we see........

He has very little what we call "sheet time"..........................Time in the hospital........Uncle Bobby laying down some Bobbisms
How weird is it to see Bruce as Bruce?
Wish they would go back there. IndyCar needs another oval race and AMS needs another event.
I guess I'm quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?
Gotta be Indycars! Paul Page is there! :)
Derek Daly from 'England' ouch....
+LB1973 lol wow, just wow
Living in Milton Keynes because F1 teams are based there explains that oddity
Coolest IndyCar track. I want them back!
Better back then !! I miss that.
Caitlyn did a good job in the puts.
She almost got a NASCAR ride - replacing DW at DiGard
We can see Mike Mosley in #18 car, who died march of next year on car accident.
He almost won this race.
That's Atlanta? Wow the track has changed so much!!!!
Yep. Of course, it is owned by Bruton Smith the same man who owns Charlotte and Texas which are almost twins of that track.
The front straight in this race is now the back straight of the track.
Yep, they missed the old Atlanta track, so Homestead was created 🙄
Started as an 1 mile cookie cuter, and now is a 1,5 mile superspeedway
2:53-2:54 Little Al from Phoenix, Arizona? LOLZ!
SMH 👎🤮 LOL!

Bruce was just a normal guy back then. Living proof that The KARDASHIANS will kill brain cells! 🤪
3:50 Hi Caitlyn
16:00 More proof that Dr. Steve Olvey was a badass.
What ever happened to "Gentleman start your engines"
Bring this back!
@32:41 lol back when it was a 3 tire stop! I think it was the left front that was almost never changed.
How many gears in those cars ?
After Tom Sneva's Indy 500 win in 1983 he did absolutely NOTHING! what happened!

Was it even safe to race these cars on a 1.5 mile track with that kind of banking? Surprised it wasn't like the 2001 Texas disaster tbh.
Start at 11:15
You can't win if you don't finish!
Round 1 - 1983
10:45 REST of the field LOL
Sounds are awesome. Almost sounds evil.
