I can't watch it anymore, especially, with them portraying Covid-19 stuffs, I simply can't watch it after losing my grandma 2 months ago. I can't go through those emotions again. Killing Melendez is the stupidest plot development tool I have seen in a while. It just killed the series for me. And now this Claire talking to ghost or hallucination thing to give her a "closure"? Lol that's another stupid plot point. Claire deserves better, losing her mom and then Melendez (after confessing about her feelings). Writers went pretty crazy to make it "realistic".
But can't forget Dr Melendez for a moment , whenever Good Doctor is mentioned...Miss him so so much. A character dearly missing...not happened many times..Salute to Nicholas for putting life in that beautiful inspiring character...Thank you @Nicholas Gonzalez
If they really wanted the character to leave, The writers could have shown Melendez getting injured, and lose the stability in his hands, but NOOOO, let's kill him off by septic shock.
I love so much this quotation : "This room is filled with stories that were cut short ; like ours. But you, you have an amazing story ahead and I can't wait to see it". I love it, but it makes me cry.
You know, I was glad to see Melendez back and all, but this only infuriated me even more. Neil and Claire deserved so much better. The only reason the writers did this whole thing with ghost!!Melendez was to cover their asses after seeing our anger about their terrible blunder killing him off. Plus his goodbye was pretty anticlimactic IMO. I tell ya, The Good Doctor is really on a downward spiral and killing off Melendez got the ball rolling.
I think season 4 really should be the last season, there's no point carrying this thing any forward. To me Murphy was not the only character whose storyline required attention and detail. Claire and Melendez had a very different relationship from other things i have seen on tv. Both characters individually too were extremely layered. Melendez wasn't the usual cynical, reckless, playboy, detached doctor and Claire wasn't the usual female resident who was always a damsel in distress and required her attending's validation. Both extremely intelligent and dignified characters, and I would have really looked forward to seeing one of the very few uncomplicated, non toxic, enriching tv romances. it was a foolish decision to kill him off like this.
Words can't describe how disappointed I am with TGD. Killing Neil was the biggest mistake ever, I just can't bring myself to watch the new season. After 3 years of character development, 3 years of deepening his relationship with Claire, he dies from a curable disease, with no one - except Claire around him, while the whole medical staff was outside Petringa's room when she was dying. And now, when he's dead, no one, no one mentions him, like he never existed, which makes me even angrier. There are so many superfluous, annoying and boring characters that producers could have got rid of, but they had to kill one of the most beloved characters, who was about to have an amazing story with Claire, but their story was "cut short". My heart broke once again, when I heard these lines. With Melendaire, season 4 could have been the best of all. Instead of this, writers want Shea to be at the centre of attention, but honestly, I'm fed up with their storyline, it's so meaningless, the only thing Shaun cares about is sex, as he did in season 3. Claire and Neil didn't even share a hug or a kiss, but their feelings and emotions were so real, their love was so pure, that's what makes them unique. I'm definitely done with the show and I'm not the only one, there are plenty of people who decided not to watch it anymore. I'm sure Shore knows that, so he's trying to keep the audience by bringing Neil back as a ghost... but neither Nick nor Neil deserves that.
The story would have been very good if Melendez died treating covid and getting caught and died a hero fighting an unexpected and un known virus... His death would have had meaning! Unlike the original plot where they killed him just to keep story interesting!
@@ocbusfan yea... And they again brought him as a ghost to claire....! That's just sad! U know they shouldn't have done that... they are dishonoring charecter!

Miss you forever, Dr. Melendez! 😢😢
@@sole449 I'm happy to hear that, I hope they will continue to lose many more viewers. Because they deserve just that after the move they made for pure "shock value" this is the worth of that creative idea of killing the character that gave so much value to this show.

I mean seriously taking the love of her life and bringing him back as a hallucination was just complete and utter bullshit, I was sitting here thinking really hasn't Claire suffered enough first she loses her mother and then she loses Neil how much more are you going to put Claire through? And then they come up with this ridiculous storyline where Shaun starts having inappropriate feelings for another woman while he's with Lea it's like seriously you go through all this trouble to make those two a couple just to turn around and "Almost" have Shaun cheat on her didn't make any sense to me not to add that they have Dr. Lim get in this motorcycle accident and she doesn't have one broken bone not one she just walks into the ER with just a couple scratches and I'm thinking seriously? I just thought that was completely unrealistic because she would have had way more injuries than that.
@@katie2967 oh yeah the ghost thing was ridiculous! I mean it is medical show, she having hallucinations means she has some kind of tumor (as Dr. HOUSE would say) and then those lines were complete shit. Yeah, storylines are super not natural, they all develop so fast, and they almost cut all the lines which they made through the seasons and start them over. I mean Park should have left or his family should join him here, they made it clear that he wants to have family back. Then Reznik story which became quite interesting to the end of season 3 is forgotten. And Shaun and Lea, I have no words about it, I fast-forward through it. It is super annoying. This relationship turned Shaun back in his development. Now he is sex obsessed teneger. It is sad, that good show became this. Double sad, because I didn't watch anything in very long time what would be so enjoyable. I gave 4th season a chance, but after I watched this week episode, I gave up. The writers had their time to prove worth of that "creative idea"...
@@with-BANDURA Not to mention that another thing that pisses me off about the show is the fact that they bring in Andrews niece and she gets way more backstory than Neil does and she's not even in the show four episodes! And Melendez was in the show three years and the only thing we find out about his life is he had a sister that was disabled that he took care of and before we can find out anymore about his life they kill his character off and that pissed me off. Another thing that is really irritating me this season and maybe I'm overreacting a little bit but nobody and I mean nobody except for Dr. Lim and Claire has even addressed it or showed any sort of emotion that Neil has passed away or even addressed it not even Shaun has even acted like he cares that Neil's passed away. The only two people that has even visited Neil's grave is Audrey and Claire. You would think at least Dr. Glassman considering how long he's known Dr. Melendez would at least show some sort of emotion or even visited his grave, I mean has anyone even told Jessica that Neil passed away? I mean I wonder.
One reason that keeps me watching Good doctor is Dr Melendez and the whole romance building up with Claire, after season 3 I dont feel like watching it again.
Claire has been through so much, losing her mom and losing her love interest. Still, there are so many things (or mysteries) about life and death that we can't understand, and so many things we can't control. I hope all the doctors know that.
his death was so unnecessary... what's the point of the whole building up, the slow burn, and then kill him off like that?! this scene is beyond painful. that "I can't wait to see it" breaks my heart more than I can express. he will aways be with her, but we won't see it. heartbroken. we miss u Neil 🥺
They should’ve kept him alive for the first episode or two, have him and Claire treat a COVID patient and Melendez unfortunately gets the rona and Claire has to sit there seeing the man she loves die slowly in front of her and it’ll have a story arc of Claire asking herself “Could’ve I done more? I should’ve saved him” etc
My motivation to watch this series was Melendez And his association with Claire was the most interesting Killing him sucks Whether you invent some science fiction or anything just bring him back preeety pleaassssseeeee😥😥😥
The way he died was stupd, there was no closure and they left it hanging like they wern't sure what to do... ugh, they had a more interesting story than shaun and lea
Honestly there was no closure I thought the ending was extremely inappropriate and unnecessary no disrespect to David Shore or Daniel Dae Kim cuz I think they're both brilliant producers but they didn't even have the decency to give Neil a proper death! And that pissed me off. I love Neil and everything but they didn't need to bring him back as a hallucination I thought that was extremely inappropriate. Because all they're doing is torturing poor Claire. There's no closure to what you've done... All of this was unecessary... Except making Claire suffer and grieve once again, except telling your viewers she can't be happy. I'm done with this show as much as I love Antonia Thomas. I can't stand seeing her crying all the time when she has so much potential. And I really don't care about Glassman and Debbie or Lea and Shaun who are only arguing. Melendez has not even had a decent ending. All seemed rushed and unnecessary. I haven’t watched this new season...because of what they did to Melendez and Claire’s character it was so heartbreaking...I don’t need closure jor..😭 but I hope I can get over it someday... I dunno 😒
You know what really bothers me this season is that nobody and I do mean nobody except for Claire and Audrey even acknowledge that Neil passed away or act like they even care that he's gone and that pisses me off. Like Shaun for example he doesn't show any sort of emotion or seem to care that Neil passed away all he seems to give a shit about is his relationship with Lea. Even Dr. Park Glassman and Andrews don't even act like they care or acknowledge that he's gone. The only people that have even visited his grave is Audrey and Claire! It just irritates me that nobody else has addressed Neil's death.
This I agree with. It seems the writers just wanted the audience to assume they have grieved and some time has already passed. But still, some acknowledgement of his passing, especially from the main character, would've been nice! But it looked like he wasn't affected by it whatsoever.

Since day one... Melendez & Clair relationship is all I voted for. Wish they could have a beautiful relationship ❤️😭.
i did also, could not wait for it.
DR. MELENDEZZZZ!!!! MISS HIM SO MUCH
And this is not making me (or anyone else who misses him as much as me) feel any better 😭😭😭
@@vgg31 no it doesn't make me feel any better I'm happy to see him but at the same time it also makes me want to cry.
Am sitting here just wishing we'd seen something as simple as Melendez hugging Claire. I mean I will never know what that is like!
💔💔...they played us big time..
@@janeojeogwu7123 From the very first encounter, just.......why?
It kind of feels like he was brought back to appease fans of this storyline. For me, it just reinforces how stupid they were to have gotten rid of him in the first place.
Exactly Exactly Exactly!!!
I just binged the show I'm stopping at season 3. It's over for me. Maybe they thought they were grey's anatom, killing off a main character like that.
Absolutely stupid move
Same here binged the entire show and just stopped as soon as he died. It’s nothing for me now. He was such an iconic character 😭
I hope they fired the guy who forwarded the idea of killing Melendez for making the worst decision ever and losing so many viewers single handedly 😒✌🏻️👏
Oh my freaking god, the way he looks and smiles at her, knowing what they felt, makes me melt as many times as i watch it, also incredibly sad. They deserved so much better i hate the writers for doing this to me
Once again I ask, did Melendez really have to die
Nope
They were unnecessary
It is the stupidest death in TV History, IMO.
@@RoyalMasterpiece I completely agree with you! I feel like the only reason honestly they're even bringing Dr. Melendez back in my personal opinion is because so many fans last year was so pissed off that they had killed his character off so they're bringing him back as a ghost/hallucination for Claire! so they could keep their ratings going and at the same time keep the viewers happy because excuse my french knew they fucked up by killing Dr. Melendez off.
Cuz you know damn well that the only reason half the viewers are even
tuning into this season is to see if Dr. Melendez is going to make an appearance and David Shore knows this & is using it.
I think it was for them to make shaun the main surgeon &the good doctor in the serie
I'm not watching this show again, like ever. For me The Good Doctor is only of 3 seasons.
Ikr, I don't give a hell about what happens on the further seasons

I have stopped watching this show post Melendez death. This popped in my YT recommendation, just clicked to see Melendez.

I was haunted, when Dr. Melendez's death. I was crying.
I started crying when he said that
Just bring him and Claire back, make something up like Marvel be doing all the time 😭
When she looked away from him and then looked back and he was gone. 😭💔💔💔my heart is shattered
I don’t want to watch it anymore without him
I think season 4 really should be the last season, there's no point carrying this thing any forward. Both extremely intelligent and dignified characters, and I would have really looked forward to seeing one of the very few uncomplicated, non toxic, enriching tv romances. it was a foolish decision to kill him off like this.
that was so well said!
I hate that they killed off that wonderful character! The show is history now. For me.

His death was unnecessary period.
I feel like this closure is more for us than for Claire💔😂
The most unnecessary death of all time. Doesn't make any sense! Stupid writers.
The scenes in which dr. Melendez appears bring us dubious feelings, of joy to see him and of much sadness for his death. 🤔💔😔
Every single word of this is taken right out of my mouth! Thank you
@@DutchmanCalypso I'm glad to read that!
Agree 100%. Very disrespectful to Nick, after all the hard word he's done for the show, he didn't deserved this. Shame.
Get a life. It's pure fiction.
@@amywalker7515 You assume we don't have a life, just because we like a TV show and discuss what's happening there? Sad.
The story would have been very good if Melendez died treating covid and getting caught and died a hero
fighting an unexpected and un known virus... His death would have had meaning! Unlike the original plot where they killed him just to keep story interesting!
If only they knew COVID was coming had they decided to kill him off that way instead, but the last season ended before the pandemic hit
@@ocbusfan yea... And they again brought him as a ghost to claire....! That's just sad! U know they shouldn't have done that... they are dishonoring charecter!

The whole story with Dr. Melendez being killed off was bullshit! And I'm just about ready to give up on The Good Doctor I am not impressed with this season at all. I'm probably just going to buy the first three seasons of the good doctor that actually have Dr. Melendez in it. I already have the first season I just need to buy the second and third.

They killed Melendez off to save Lea 😒😡. Why start a love story for him to die??? I was so amped up to see where their story would've taken them.

@@amywalker7515 or they can have Nick come in and play a different character I mean they did that with Shaun's brother! The saddest part of this is not that Claire and Melendez’s story were cut short but that they never had anything to begin with in the first place rather than just their feelings for each other which they didn’t acknowledge until Melendez dies

i have never wanted to fight a plot this much 😭why building up this relationship (which was the most beautiful one out of every couple this show has)at 1st place if he was going to die at the end before they even started 😭
I mean, at least start the damn thing!
I'll never forgive this series for letting Dr Melendez die 😭 they need to bring him back
Anyone else here that stop watching the show after this scene? 🙋 I tried to watch the first 2 episodes of the new season, i really give it a chance, but I just couldn't go on with it. The show was just... I don't know... like something was missing, nothing there made sense anymore, not for me anyway. And, after some weeks of thinking, I just realised, the missing piece, the one that made this show great in the first sesons, was this guy, the great and only Neil Melendez, the only scenes bearable to watch from season 4, were the ones in which he showed up. Miss you forever, Dr. Melendez! 😢😢
I stopped watching after 3x20.. and they've already lost 3.7 million viewers
@@sole449 I'm happy to hear that, I hope they will continue to lose many more viewers. Because they deserve just that after the move they made for pure "shock value" this is the worth of that creative idea of killing the character that gave so much value to this show.

Feels weird watching The Good Doctor without him. The energy is off without Dr. Melendez! I'm trying my hardest to get into this season but I just can't. And I just can't stand Lea I used to be able to tolerate her but ever since she did that to Shaun & ever since the producers picked her over Dr. Melendez I really can't stand her.
@@katie2967 happy to hear that someone feels same like me!
Out from respect to the show, I forced myself to watch 7 episodes, but couldn't stand it. It did not get better
@@with-BANDURA Not to add that the story lines are just getting ridiculous like having Nicholas come back as a hallucination for Claire was just complete bullshit!
This show helped me to find what I want in life and how to interact with people
Claire has been through so much, losing her mom and losing her love interest. Still, there are so many things (or mysteries) about life and death that we can't understand, and so many things we can't control. I hope all the doctors know that.
When we asked for dr. Melendez back, this is not what we meant
I haven’t watched the new season at all but did the show just forget about Melendez’s sister?

You know how I always felt Claire and Melendez were supposed to be the happiest couple ,then Melendez dies ,,that was a deal breaker 💔
Dr Melendez was an integral part of the show
his death was so unnecessary... what's the point of the whole building up, the slow burn, and then kill him off like that?!
this scene is beyond painful. that "I can't wait to see it" breaks my heart more than I can express. he will aways be with her, but we won't see it.

When she said "He changed me" I choked up a bit
I would rather have dr lim pass away than having Dr Melendez passing away
Right?!!
He changed me and that's not gonna go away. 😭 Made me cry so much 🙄 why did they have to kill him off Claire was finally going to be happy
Omg
Yes BBC that would have been a great storyline
My motivation to watch this series was Melendez
And his association with Claire was the most interesting
Killing him sucks
Whether you invent some science fiction or anything just bring him back preeety pleaassssseeeee😥😥😥
Why you kill him in the fist place 😡
Can we stop torturing Claire please???
It's as if I'm claire... I feel genuine pain that his story was cut short
My heart is still broken.
The way he died was stupd, there was no closure and they left it hanging like they wern't sure what to do... ugh, they had a more interesting story than shaun and lea
Exactly!!!
Bringing him back in flashbacks is one thing but bringing him back as a hallucination in my personal opinion was completely disrespectful and inappropriate.
I would have even been happy if they would have brought Nick back as another character on the show just as long as we got to see Nick again. I just thought the whole hallucination thing was complete bullshit I'm sorry even though I was happy to see Dr. Melendez again I still thought it was bullshit! Because the whole time I'm watching the episodes I just wanted to cry and wanted Dr. Melendez back plus it just pisses me off that they picked Lea over him.
@@katie2967 Yes them constantly hurting Claire is ridiculous, can she please be happy without having her heart stomped on!!!
I prefer ANYONE over Lea, I can't stand her 👎so can imagine how pissed off I was when they saved her but killed Neil!!!
Yes the hallucination hurt because he kept talking about him and Claire not having the chance to be together, it's like the writers wanted to rub salt on the wound! 💔
I would've definitely preferred seeing flashbacks, it would've been nice seeing a peek into the time they spent together when they weren't working💘
@@asiyah7714 Exactly! Not only that but last night's episode pissed me off too because they could have at least had Neil tell Claire before he moved on that he loved her.

I cried rivers after Melendez died. I loved someone who brought out the best in me. I realized very late and was afraid to let that person know in fear of rejection cz I felt that person had platonic feelings for me. Now I don't know whether I'd be able to find love again.
Every time i see this scene.. Tear rolls down my eyes.. Characters are what we can relate to.. Melendez was one.. He didn't got his love.. His story could have been better..
Literally turned off the show, and never watched it again after Neil died. Destroyed it with his death imo.
Same here. I was like I’m done I can’t believe they just did that, he was one of the best characters in the show.
So there's no decent funeral or anyone missing him except for Claire and Lim ?
Grey's anatomy, Flash and now in The Good Doctor. Men, producers do like killing his characters.
Totally unnecessary... melendez didn't have to die... I hope writers are reading the comments here... no one absolutely no one is ok with this.... it just doesn't make sense
Thats so unfair, just when Claire had finally begun to find happiness in the form of romance and friendship with Melendez after bearing so much since her childhood, they killed the character which was totally unnecessary!
Melendez is dead but park just said the most real thing to his wife
True...
You destroy your show in only one episode (320). Congratulations....
Melendez and Claire were my little idiotic happiness on Monday. I will always remember them and imagine that they finally have the happy ending they deserved. Goodbye.
Why kill such a huge charactor??????
I need Melendez and Browne more!
Vuelve Doctor Meléndez....
They killed off an amazing character only to bring him back again as a hallucination realizing they went down the wrong direction with the series lmao
Bobby Ewing came back and so can Melendez!!!Bring him back!!!!
If he comes back he'll always be a ghost hanging around.
Melendez falls into coma and then he wakes up again after a long while... I prefer this to seeing him in Claire’s imagination
I haven’t watched this new season...because of what they did to Melendez and Claire’s character it was so heartbreaking...I don’t need closure jor..😭 but I hope I can get over it someday... I dunno 😒
Bring back Dr Melendez please, Clair deserves to be happy. 😥😥
Melendez we cannot forget uuuuu love from Kerala India 💜
This series is the epitome of an example of the word "STUPID"..I MEAN..WHY DID THEY EVEN HAVE TO KILL MELENDEZ!?
I won't watch this series ever. .dr malendez was my favourite.. can't accept his death
