Culver's needs to keep doing what they're doing. I've lived in the midwest my whole life, and they have a niche that is fit just for them. Don't try to be McDonalds or Burger King or anyone else, just keep doing what they're doing. Mmmm... butter burgers.
That's going to doom them. Young people want healthy,v fresh food. There's an increase in vegetarian and vegan food with young people. In 10 years everyone should disinvest in places like Culver's.
@@MilwaukeeWoman I think you overestimate your knowledge of people's eating preferences. Let them eat what they want, whether it's what you think they want or not.
@@MilwaukeeWoman Culver's has been doing just fine with Young People. Young people are o pretty diverse mix, and Culver's is higher quality than places like McDonalds, Wendy's, &c.
@@MilwaukeeWoman I'm an old man and am sad to say that all of my "health nut" friends are now dead. Genetics and luck are what keep you healthy and alive unless you grossly overdo everything (smoking, eating, etc). Those who go to extremes to eat only "healthy" food seem in the end to be as bad off as those who grossly overeat unhealthy food. Ask the people you know who are actually over 80 about their lifestyles and you might find a more moderate answer to a long healthy life. I’ve worked at the second oldest location in the country in Spring Green Wisconsin, and I’ve never been so welcomed and felt as if we’re a family as I have working for Culver’s. I’ve met Craig Culver twice and made his food for him too, and he is such a wonderful man and so caring. He asked us how we liked our job and if there was anything that needs to be improved. One time he was driving past our restaurant and saw we were really busy, he popped in and started taking orders and delivering food to the guests in the lobby. It really was a sight to see.
I wish they were all like that, The one I work at is a total nightmare. The management socks and is actively pushing away the new employees, we haven't had a new hire stay for more than a few months in over a year
As a local Wisconsin guy, Culver’s is a big part of our culture up here. We all eat it and love it. I don’t think I ever met anyone who hated it. It’s a good meal for around 10$.
Anytime I go there I end Up spending $30. I always thought that it was good but dont go there very often because of the price. I live in Illinois though.
@@9852323 here's a secret from someone who works there and rings up orders all the time, the upgrades on the sides like getting cheese curds bump up the price of a basket by 5 bucks which makes it really expensive to buy multiple of them. Try getting the fries next time as the side it is a lot cheaper. I also like the cheese fries more than the curds and that is only a dollar more instead of 5 dollars more.
The 1 in my county must be the worst of all Culver's. Dirty, crowded and worst service. They wanted to know why I wanted my root beer float I paid for after I waited 30 minutes. 2nd visit was not much better and my spouse had a great shouting match at me as to why we stopped there all the way home. We did not eat that night. I am sure that a 3rd visit would end in divorce court. The location is over 2 years old. now.
Culvers is my favorite “fast food” restaurant. There’s something about their burgers that make them so dang good. It doesn’t feel like fast food at all, especially with their amazing service
I heard about Culver and decided 2... try it out so I order a cheeseburger and an order of onion ring I ate the burger when I got home it was lousy but the onion rings were great. I called the manager and complained 2 him about my first experience with the burger... he was nice about it he mailed me out a coupon 2 get another burger later, so about a couple months later... I happen 2 be n the area and use my coupon 2 get another burger hell the second one was ....worth than the first, I just havenʻt been back and... that was about 5 years r more.
The patties are never frozen. They are the size oh homey pucks smooshed down. I forgot how long each side is cooked. I think it’s 1 min 30 secs. They are then flipped and seasoned with salt and pepper. I worked at 2 different ones for about a total of 10 years. So to me the burgers are meh.
I worked at Culvers for 2 years while in college, and oh boy let me tell you they were beyond successful in sales. Our location was so damn busy that alot of days I didn't get a break/it was a late break because of how rare down time actually was. The custard is really good stuff and always fresh, they actually clean their kitchen and custard machines every night which is mandatory, the burgers aren't frozen and are actually hand pressed and flipped instead of a machine doing it for you, and they got so much staff that wait times are usually real short. Plus they do a good job keeping quiet from the media. You don't ever hear any negative press towards them or any corporate managers making some stupid remarks or something.
Were they really intense on training? Because every time I go into one, everything is EXACTLY the same, even if it is in another state. The service is EXACTLY the same as well.
@@madelyn.aesthetic5366 Of course, but that is very difficult to do. If a company isn't constantly working at it, standards start to slip quickly in the fast food industry.
Culver's needs to keep doing what they're doing. This is what the Midwestern people like, a family-friendly business that's all midwestern farm fresh product. Made fresh to order.
Most of the food you guys get is microwaved tho. The soups, cheese sauces, any hot food was thrown in the mic. The fried food was fried though, but everything else, not so fresh. Maybe it’s different in other states though. Culver’s is hell to work at🤣
I lost 10 pounds when I started working at McDonald's because I chose their healthy options for lunch everyday. Salads, grilled chicken sandwich, parfait and apples and water. Culver's is tasty but I'd get so fat eating it everyday
Perhaps it's cuz Culvers are mostly in the Midwestern states with Non AssAfirmative Quota Hires. 😉😎😔 I am korean. I just got to mention it. When i walked in the Culvers near Minneapolis, it felt like i was transported back a couple decade. Felt like home, with people who cared. Try finding that in Lost Angeles. Good luck, finding someone who understands what medium rare means.
Have you read the franchise rules it's crazy you have to be ready to marry the resturant also the lot has to satisfy a pretty extensive list of criteria like over all size and trafic volume etc etc take a look on their web page it might offer an interesting follow up video opportunity as that list of requirements reads like a how to manual for success
Hello! I am a current Culver’s employee, and I can confirm all of this! Our managers are super strict when it comes to quality and freshness. If our employees break a custard lid, we have to remake it altogether. Regarding the blue, even our bandaids have to be uniform! We keep a few packs of blue bandages at all times.
I live in the town where it started and is still headquartered to this day. The Culver family are awesome, all super nice people, they still pickup shifts at their original location and do a lot for the community.
I worked as a cashier at Culver's 700th location for a year and a half, and I quite liked it! I never really got tired of the food, either; they have pretty good quality ingredients. No joke, Craig Culver himself came through our drive-thru while I was cashing at one point. He was super friendly.
Nightwalker 4202 I live in New York and I have family in the Chicago and Kansas City areas. We ALWAYS go to Culver’s when we’re in town there because yes, it is beyond amazing. And now I’m moving to California, and am pissed off that they don’t have any there either😂. At least I’ll get to go to one again while I’m moving lol
Yessssss I have four Culver’s near me, the farthest one 30 minutes from me.....I’ve got to go to a brand new one fifteen minutes from me!!! They just built it like a month ago!!! Culver’s is just so comforting...
I totally agree with you, fellow Illinoisan. I sometimes go there with my best friend to catch up with him from time to time. We live far apart. Oh, boy do I have the story of how I cried because of a spicy sauce while dining at a Colver's location.
I think the blue is a huge part of it, for other similar restaurants it’s all red, McDonald’s, red, Wendy’s, red, Dairy Queen, red, Burger King, red. Even fast food that is not as similar with the frozen dessert/ burger combo it’s still a sea of red Chick-fil-A, Canes, Arbys, KFC, and more. There is just so much red, it makes the blue really stand out and feel extra refreshing!
Red is popular among fast food restaurants as it's an 'active' color, it encourages patrons to eat more quickly and go, it doesn't fit their model to have diners sitting around chatting after they finish their meal. Culver's blue tends to be more relaxed and inviting as a result.
I work at a Culver's and I gotta say. We keep our kitchen scary clean, I think that's another minor but also significant reason to the success. It's a place you can honestly take pride in being a part of!
The employees at my local Culver's have some of the best customer service I have ever seen anywhere, & I have worked in customer service for 12 years in various positions. It is just outstanding! & their food is the best anywhere. I absolutely love going to culvers for real.
Yeah but it's not like every culvers is up to those standards. I actually drive 10 extra miles past the culvers by me because it's trash. The one I go to is heaven tho
Literally just finished a Culver's Bacon Deluxe and have to confirm that the quality is top notch. I go to Culver's maybe once a week and the quality is always consistent (at least at my local Culver's).
Have you ever been to a "bad" Culvers? I haven't. Everyone talks about that one chain restaurant in *THAT* part of town that you should avoid, but I've never been to a ghetto Culvers that made me want to head for the exit before ordering.
One thing you might have overlooked - the staff. It's not just that they hire polite friendly people, but their restaurants (at least here in Minnesota) are always fully staffed up, especially during busy shifts. Walk into a McDonalds or Burger King and you might have half a dozen people working at best, and they're all rushing and harried. Culvers has 20+ people on duty and everything runs smoother. Sure you have to wait for your food, but there's always someone at every register, there's plenty of people in the kitchen to make it and there are plenty of people to bring it out to your table right after it's done. I literally spend more time standing in line and waiting at McD's or BK for my food than at a Culvers. Why is this, what are they doing differently? Their food is more expensive, but only by a few dollars over what you'd pay for premium menu items at other chain restaurants. Is it just a focus on spending more time and resources on labor, or is there some other formula they're using that other restaurants could emulate if they chose to, but for some reason don't?
I have never been to one (they don't exist here in the Netherlands) but by hearing what you and others are saying I get a picture. Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds more like they somehow have placed them selves in between a fast food and the lower chain restaurants. They are more expensive than the fast food but similar to cheaper then those chain restaurants. and they also operate it well at that level.
I looked up the prices for everything they sell online and they are not really all that much more expensive by the looks of it. I guess I do not know of the portion sizes, but they seem to be pretty close to “cheap” restaurants like McDonalds and Burger King.
Not sure if I would agree with Culver's being cheap. As much as I love eating there, it costs AT LEAST $20 for me and my fiance to eat there and that's usually without drinks or dessert lol. Not saying it's not worth it, but I spend $20 max on the both of us at a normal sit down restaurant including tip.
I have lactose intolerant friends who will dive in to hell for Culver's. It really is just that good. Personally never had a bad experience there even my picky friend who usually has his orders messed up do to how particular he is at other places hasn't had a mishap there yet.
Fun fact, culver's paid a small farmer who had a really big barn located prominently on one of the biggest Wisconsin highways to pain their barn culver's blue and write "Thank you farmers, Culver's" on it and every time I drive by it, I crave culver's even more. Brilliant.
As a current Culver’s worker, I can tell you that our standards are up there. Everything is fresh. Our custard? Fresh. I actually know how to make the custard, and don’t tel old Craig, but I sneak in extra toppings.
Just tried it for the first time, and gotta say; best fast food I've ever had. And not sure how the employees are treated but it must be good because they were all insanely nice and attentive
One thing I really love about Culver's is the workers. Their attitudes have always been outstanding, literally everytime I've been there. Always super nice and welcoming don't look burnt out and depresssed.
@@elephantman6117 I'm from MN, and you're a gawdamn genious. I'm still sad about the fact that they took away the fried chicken and I never got to try it. :(
The closest Culver's to me is in elk river which is about a 30 minute drive away from where I live, I will gladly drive the 30 minutes to Culver's because it is so good.
I went to Culver's in Milwaukee, WI. I liked it so much I opened my own Frozen Custard store here in the Atlanta, GA area. It was called Wholly Cow in Lawrenceville, GA. We were successful purchasing the custard from the same manufacturer as Culver's, with a slight change to the recipe. As would be our demise, a local video store went out of business and killed our foot traffic. We closed our store after 3 years of operation and 3 years later, Culver's opened their first store in the state of Georgia. Great store, great culture, the best ingredients. Eat there!!!
I ate there a couple times when they first opened in AZ, and found it unusually unhealthy. Mashed potatoes ok, excellent root beer, though I don't drink soda anymore.
I've worked at Culvers for nearly 2 months now, and all I can say is good things about them. All staff and management is extremely kind and caring. They offer VERY flexible hours for young students and adults. Its a very positive environment all over. The building is always in tip top cleanliness, and all food is made fresh to order. They really live by there name. If looking for a well paying very flexible positive environment to work, I would HIGHLY suggest Culvers. 10/10.
@@kaleb5926 I started working at Culver's in Georgia a couple weeks ago and I can confirm it is true, everything is fresh and super clean, and the staff is awesome, everyone is really kind
Wisconsinite here: Culver's is some good stuff. Love going there any time I can. Expensive yes, but the burgers and chicken tenders are so worth it and the custard is also to die for. Very popular up here. So stupidly creamy. It's also in like every town so I can find one whenever. Funny how I recognized so many of the storefront/interior pictures...
I love THE CHICKEN TENDERS TOO instead of gross nuggets they give actual chicken tenders. PRO TIP [get the kids meal it is cheap with a lot of food as well as coupons on the back for a free custard] if you need more food than the kids meal offers Idk I think you should go with chicken tender basket.
I have a Culver's down the road from me - I really feel lucky. A few things are consistent: the quality of the frozen concrete, the overall quality of all the food including burgers and fries. It really seems so simple, but they're really very good every time and I find myself wanting more... @Company Man! I've been casually ingesting your videos for years - thanks for always putting out a good analysis with your data. You're presenting in an engaging and dynamic way, and I hope you keep doing these for a long time to come!
For those who haven't had custard before: Imagine ice cream, but smoother, creamier, and is less cold to your tastebuds as soft-serve. Culver's is an S tier restaurant. Edit: The reply section is cancer don't go there
Nah man. Culver’s is extremely greasy and unhealthy a large concrete mixer is 1000 calories. With a burger and fries it’s 2000+ calories. definitely would prefer in and out over that shit
You mentioned the small town in Wisconsin vibe. That makes me think that they'd do well in California by starting more in the Valley, like Sacramento or Bakersfield. Not everywhere is LA or the Bay which is something that I think people forget about. I'm not as familiar with New York, but somewhere like Rochester could be a similar strategy to get people familiar with the brand first.
I'm in Rochester. I think it would be really tough here because we have a couple regional burger chains. They're slower dine-in or take out places, not really fast food. One of them actually sells frozen custard, so it'd be hard for them to break into our market that has had Bill Gray's/Abbott's Frozen Custard (also year round) and Tom Wahl's. We have kind of a specific style of burger here; rocwiki.org/Rochester_Hamburgers
Add Whataburger to that list and then you're talking. The mightier burger not just by volume, but by juicy and spicy (if ya want it) goodness as well. Their stores are neat to behold as well, because you sit in benches that look like halved 50's Thunderbirds and Mustangs it's really cool.
Yep, I work at a Culver’s in Illinois and Craig is the nicest guy ever, he did an inspection about 4 days ago and because the place was so clean he tipped all of us $100 each
I think of Culver's as the "In N' Out of the Midwest" right now. It's to Chicago or Milwaukee as In N' Out is to LA or Phoenix. Also, onion rings. They're great at Culver's in my opinion.
RoachOverlord Yeah, it's just that like how In N' Out is associated with the West coast, Culver's is associated with the Midwest, most of all Winsconsin. But yeah, I see what you mean.
I get what you mean, and I don't disagree, but the two chains really do have different philosophies. Culver's is actively trying to grow and expand to become a truly national chain. They have locations from Wisconsin to Arizona to the Carolinas to Florida. In-N-Out is trying to stay regional, and barely expanded from the West Coast. Their Texas locations are as far as they want to go. Plus, Culver's has a way more expansive menu, while In-N-Out only has a few menu items (by design).
As a Wisconsinite growing up eating culvers I can truly tell you that quality is definitely what they do best. I’ve almost never had a complaint with their food. Also yes, frozen custard is a Wisconsin delicacy even outside of Culver’s
Also, when I was a child Milwaukee had only a handful of Culver’s in the area. But now there feels like there’s one featured in every suburb and small town in Wisconsin. It’s definitely growing
I work at Culver’s. They do have great leadership; our boss takes times to teach us, makes new team members feel welcome, and is accommodating to our schedules. Its a very friendly work environment, too! We are all buds with each other and we have our fun. Surprisingly, though, I wouldnt say we are slow. Typically, a guest will be waiting for about 2-3 minutes. The most common compliment we get from guests is how fast we are, they seem surprised at the speed. We definitely are very polite as well, and we get the door for almost every guest. We also give a lot of leeway to guests, too. At the last work meeting we had, our boss said that if someone walks in with a coupon that is expired, or even a coupon for another restaurant, to just accept it anyways. People will eventually recognize culvers’ values and I believe the business will grow.
I've lived and traveled all around Wisconsin, and probably have eaten at most of the Culver's restaurants in the state. I haven't had a single bad experience yet, the quality is the same at every location. Even eating at Culver's down south in Missouri and Texas, still the same. It's phenomenal, I probably have a legitimate addiction eating there, so good!
J K I live in central Florida, there isn’t much there as far as custard goes. We don’t have many Culver’s near where I live either, maybe a few about 45 minutes away. They’re far enough away that when I do happen to drive past them I see what flavor of custard they have that day and if it’s something I would like, I pick some up. Basically, Culver’s is kind of a “treat” for me where I only go every once in a while because there’s not much else like it where I live.
I’m somewhat of an expert on cheese curds, and I gotta say...Culver’s cheese curds are sub par cheese curds. Any local pub in Wisconsin can outdo Culver’s cheese curds
They use standard food service breadcrumb covered curds (probably frozen from Cisco) whereas pubs and fairs will beer batter fry them fresh. So yes, as stated below their curds are sub par. Other than that, it's hardly any more expensive than McDonald's these days but tastes far better = Culver's win!
I grew up in Chicago and had never heard of Culver's until 1999, when I went to college in Wisconsin; Culver's was the best restaurant in the small town of Beloit, and the prices were reasonable for a college budget, so I went there regularly (as did my classmates). 10 years later, I was living in suburban Chicago when a Culver's opened up nearby. I figured the quality would have dropped with expansion, but it actually was just as good as I remembered. And word of mouth spread like wildfire; within a year it was the go-to place for a quick, tasty burger. So yeah, I think you pretty much nailed the reasons for their success.
I'm actually from Wisconsin, but growing up there wasn't one in our town (there is now though). First came across Culver's when they opened one up in Downer's Grove in the early 00's and I've been sold ever since. Live in Minnesota now and there is a Culver's down the street from where I work and I'm there every Friday like clockwork.
@@tiny_bagel I mean, between the college and the Hormel factory, there are just so many reasons to visit Beloit... And the Downers Grove Culver's is my local one.
Yeah, bothered me that he did not say Suak City or that the Culver's there is a newer building over the original one. There is a stone monument noting that it is the original location July 18, 1984 and new building opened April 27, 2000. I think the second one as in Baraboo, but that information is long gone when they used to have store numbers in order of opening if I recall. I think I first had Culver's at the Baraboo location in the mid-80s and later when it came to Waukesha I went there all the time. Moved to Texas in 1998 and they opened on in 1999 so I am lucky to have them still. (EDIT: I mean 1984, not 2004 for the first location year. I corrected that)
I first went to Culver's when I was little, and it was to try a banana split for the first time. Never gave it a second thought for years after, but one day I went back and was blown away by how much better it was than any other typical fast food restaurant I'd been to. Ended up working there for ~3 years and never got tired of their food even after eating it 5 times a week during those years.
Wisconsinite here, was doing my family tree and was surprised to see that I am related a couple generations back to the Culver family. My great great aunt married the founders father I think, I’d have to go back and check the family tree to make sure. Great video, keep it up mr Company Man!
spirals 73 what a coincidence, this is a very interesting story and I’m going to just leave my reply here so that I can the the notifications on this thread. Update me!
Culver’s is a big part in Wisconsin. My dad always judges how good (meaning Wisconsin stuff) it is and the town passes the test of it has a Culver’s and Kwik Trip
I actually searched for this video because I travelled down from Canada and had the opportunity to try Culver’s while in Michigan. I was so happy with the experience, I wanted to know more about how they got started because it was such a unique experience in a positive way. I appreciate the informative video as always!
Hi, im from sauk city where craig opened the first culvers. When they first opened, the menu was a mile long. Much more of a diner than a fast food restaurant. Like for instance their dinner section was much much larger. There was pot roast, salsberry steak, fried chicken, meatloaf. There were taco salads in the eadible shell bowl, hot dogs, corn dogs, just lots of things. About the blue he bought all the plates silverware and cups from sysco also the food. Sysco is a restuarant supply in baraboo a town 15min from sauk city. The blue and white is sysco colors of their stuff. For years their cups had sysco on them before he got the culvers embossed ones. Also in begining craigs dad george would cook his mom would take the orders, make the frozen custard, and take food to tables. Craig would bounce between the two stations. I dont recall a failed franchise/expansion. As much as i remember the second and third locations were baraboo and spring green. There was a cafe type place that didnt work out called blue spoon cafe. There was one in middleton that closed after a year or so, but there was one in prairie du sac that lasted about 10 years or more. Just closed during pandemic. Fun fact the recipe # thing they use on advertising is just the order stock number used by sysco foods. I can answer questions if you want to know anything. I was 9 years old when first culvers opened so i have a fairly good memory of it. I lived a few blocks away from it and still do. The thing i like best is the cod dinner with onion rings and cheese curds and a turtle sundae. I used to get strawberry shortcake sundae but they got rid of that. Carmel cashew sundae is good too. Along with the pork loin sandwich, i like it with barbeque sauce, fried onions and pickels. Chicken caesar salad is good also. Plus the flavor of day get the four pints for $10 special. And choose 4 different flavors from the freezer. They keep them for the last couple weeks flavor of day in the freezer. They used to do a frozen custard cake that they also kept in the freezers but i think they stopped making the cakes. Them are my recommendations
I was at Culvers today & todays special custard was Double STRAWBERRY(strawberry custard with chunks of strawberry in it) - so there is hope for you yet... !
For the strawberry shortcake sundae, ask for a 2 scoop with cheesecake strawberry, with whipped cream and a whole cherry, I work at a location and i order custom sundaes like that
Not just in small town Wisconsin but here in Milwaukee too. We have one close to the Brewers Stadium and one right there to welcome you to Milwaukee close to Milwaukee Airport (General Mitchell International)
I love the double Culver’s Deluxe. Man talk about pure joy. My wife and daughter run away from me after I eat it. Those raw onions WILL HAVE UR BREATH KICKING 🤣.
Wisconsin born and raised. I've eaten at Culver's hundreds of times. I've maybe had 2-3 bad experiences related to service and maybe one bad food experience. Their level of customer service is unreal and the food is consistently fantastic. I hope they never hollow out their brand.
as a born and raised Wisconsinite, yes, will we drive out in the dead of winter for frozen custard from Culver's. we don't give a damn if it's 10 degrees out, we want the flavor of the day
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots, in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate, this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
I was literally just talking to a friend about how amazing Culver’s food is and than this video is in my recommendeds and word of mouth advertising is a key reason to their success. To any viewers without a Culver’s near them - my sincerest condolences
I myself work at a Culver’s, and quality, and guest satisfaction are our top goals. We want every guest that chooses Culver’s to leave happy and satisfied with our service
As a Wisconsin girl, I have to tell you, frozen custard is much more than simply a Wisconsin thing... very simply, the egg and increased milk / butter fat content makes the custard richer and creamier than the traditional ice cream other people are used to.
As a current Culver's employee I will say that even since a young kid eating there; Culver's has always had fresh to order food that always looks exactly like what the picture on the menu shows, well staffed and very clean. I also enjoy working with a great crew of people
When we were in Illinois we saw Culver’s and were like, “butterburgers and frozen custard? Wtf is that.” Just before the drive home we gave it a shot… god damn, that was a juicy delicious burger.
I remember the first time my grandparents took me to a Culver's. They picked me up from school after I finished my exams and took me to Culver's for a butterburger, fries, and a concrete mixer (custard in a cup mixed with different toppings if you're not familiar with their menu). After that day I was hooked! 😆
I’ve worked at Culvers for a long time, and it’s really easy to be cheerful as all the managers are really kind people, and the entire atmosphere is relaxing yet energizing making it a great place to work so I find I’m cheerful most the time (dang this sounded like an add)
I work at Culvers too and love it there. The employees definitely make a Culvers what it is. The biggest take away from training it to always be polite and kind to all customers and fellow employees, which makes for a great work environment.
CULVER'S - Concrete Mixers: Best restaurant desert even though they usually put peanut butter cups in instead of peanut butter. - Cheese Curds: Unique and very tasty. - Everything else: Very good for fast food.
Company Man, you hit the nail on the head. Finally a business that gets it. Slow and steady is what wins the race, or one of the keys in running a successful business.
I've been to Springs many times and sometimes have seen the restaurants but never actually went to one. I've avoided fast food over the years but I may wanna go in the future to try the custard that Company Man mentioned.
Despite having lived in Culver's homestate for most of my 20 years I've probably eaten at one less than a dozen times. Each of those few times has been positive though. Food is good, custard is good, etc. The sheer amount of blue definitely helps them stick out from the abundance of fast food who uses tons of red and honestly draws my eye to them more often since red just feels bright and blinding. And "their flavor of the day" is very interesting, whenever I wind up passing by one I always make an effort to read it (I'm most often a passenger so it's easier to catch what they all are) and whenever I do pass by one I always remember the few times I've been there and how positive they were and want to go again. Though I never really do. Overall it's a very good place that always feels familiar when I see it on long road trips.
Lillian Shepherd I feel ya I haven't ate at my local one much either, maybe 4 times in the 15 years it's been there. Place is fucking expensive. If I'm eating fast food 90% of the time it's because I only wanna spend like 5-7 dollars
We love it! Mostly because it's in the small town where my wife and I met, and our life started together. The food is good. Not spectacular, but the cheese curds and custard have been our faves. And of that custard, the absolute best was Carmel Cashew!
I desperately want Culver's to become more successful. In my personal experience, customer service has been great, the food is great, and their custard knocks it out of the park. Culver's just seems like a no-brainer if you're in town and you need a bite to eat and it just happens to be nearby. It's an amazing fast food chain and I really do hope it sells well.
I've been to Culver's a dozen times, in Minnesota. I live in Pennsylvania. We would take a bus from MSP airport to LaCrosse, WI. On the way was a Culver's. The bus driver recommended it and we always enjoyed it. Word of mouth advertising does work.
Fun fact: I actually live in Wisconsin and work at a Culver's, and seeing how great everything is going now, they definitely won't be going out of business anytime soon. EDIT: Woah what the hecc this blew up, appreciate the likes! This is my first comment ever to blow up like this!
I live in Wisconsin too, and ever since sit down restaurants closed for the pandemic, the line at Culvers has been out into the street! It’s by far the best fast food around
I work at one of the only Culvers in Alabama, mostly working the custard machines and front work. The kitchens are incredibly clean and efficient, as well as the custard areas. I lived in Michigan before moving down south so I was of course stoked for it to show up. Culver's is the best, hands down.
XZYTE Gaming y I hate when people order a family size or a large because it’s like WHY🤣 who needs 40-60 cheese curds🤦🏼♂️ I assume you already know there’s 20 curds in a pack.
Me and my wife just moved to Missouri from Oklahoma. We never saw a Culver's until we got here, but it is by far our favorite fast food place. Food quality is better than McDonald's or burger King or similar places, but the service and cleanliness of locations really separate them from the pack. Great company
Must have gone on an off day. I usually work the front at my culvers and I make a 100% sure that place is as clean as I can possibly keep it. We go out regularly to clean and Remember. If anything isn't up to snuff just kindly get our attention. Please don't be exceedingly rude about it if you want it done quickly and with a smile. Remember, we have a basic standard of etiquette but the nicer you are, the more likely we'll go beyond for you.
Culver's is STUPID GOOD. Every time I go I'm always amazed at how *real* the food tastes. Like. I can't think of any other burger place like this that doesn't kind of taste like maybe I'm eating Styrofoam lol. Culver's employees are always very kind and the food is always awesome. Not to mention the establishment is ALWAYS clean.
I actually didnt like Culvers the first time, but then a friend of mine invited me again the second time, this time i tried the custard and i liked it. After that day, i went back every now and then until one faithful day i ordered the Cheese Curds. After that, at least once a week i would stop by a Culver's near my workplace just to either get Custard or Cheese Curds
I watched as Culver’s moved into my area in Sheboygan WI, (decades ago) the restaurant stirred up quite the conversation and ultimately caused the Hardee’s next door to go out of business. Good times

As a deep midwest northerner... I can confirm they are the preferred fast food burger joint amongst many of my peers and family. I think the custard and root beer they offer is the best part. Good Ice Cream is something missing from mainstream fast food restaurants. And a nice touch is a lot of their Butter Burger products are very filling.
As a Wisconsinite, Culvers is my favorite "fast food" restaurant! They're amazing, food is always great, friendly staff. We have them practically on every corner here and I'm not complaining.
I didn't even know what a Culver's was until a few weeks ago, and I just checked to find out there's one a town over from where I live. State coverage is still pretty poor, but I might have to make a visit sometime I'm that way. How does this relate? Well, I've never seen a jack n the box either, so :/
I never feel guilty about eating at Culver's like how I do with places like Mcdonalds or Burger King. It always feels better just being in their restaurants too. It always feels more homey. Also their management on the smaller scale seems to be much better than other companies I've seen.
To be honest I love working at Culver’s it’s so much fun. We have a group chat and plan to go see a movie with the people who are off on a day together. We also go on picnics, Christmas party’s, and celebrating birthdays. I’ve made so many friends and have customers that come to see us and say hi. I truly love this job.

I’ve worked at the second oldest location in the country in Spring Green Wisconsin, and I’ve never been so welcomed and felt as if we’re a family as I have working for Culver’s. What would you recommended for a first timer?

That's for health and safty, blue bandaid are easy to spot if fallen off

I think the blue is a huge part of it, for other similar restaurants it’s all red, McDonald’s, red, Wendy’s, red, Dairy Queen, red, Burger King, red. Even fast food that is not as similar with the frozen dessert/ burger combo it’s still a sea of red Chick-fil-A, Canes, Arbys, KFC, and more. There is just so much red, it makes the blue really stand out and feel extra refreshing!
For sure. The only other fast food establishment I can think of with blue as their main color is White Castle.
I agree with how clean the stores are, and the philosophy of taking pride in doing so.
The staff is so on it as well.
I also work at culvers and can confirm its scary clean, they dont even let you put boxes on the floor-
Literally just finished a Culver's Bacon Deluxe and have to confirm that the quality is top notch.
Tommy Thao did you get the single double or triple?
@@darzimus I always get a double! Great beef patties but I don't want to go too much with a third patty.
More people need to know just how good the bacon is at Culver's. Nice, big, crispy slices. Not soggy or chewy like a lot of fast food bacon.
The burgers are always really nice. At the one I worked at, fish was always a shot in the dark - always different quality, usually pretty bad.
A lot like a Chik-fil-A of the North. :)
Agree completely!
I'm simply floored with the sheer amount of positive endorsements from staff to customers. Well done Culver's!
Brilliant.
I was wondering what the story was behind that. Thank you!
I’ve driven past that barn at least 100 times

Also, onion rings. They're great at Culver's in my opinion.
Culver's is a lot more widespread than In-N-Out. Kind of funny that you mention Phoenix, since Culver's has a lot of locations in that city.
Biggest difference is that Culver’s is good
RoachOverlord Yeah, it's just that like how In N' Out is associated with the West coast, Culver's is associated with the Midwest, most of all Winsconsin.
Twin Mommy when did culver first pop up in florida
As former Culvers crew trainer...this makes me happy
I work here too lmao a “little butter”
I've lived and traveled all around Wisconsin, and probably have eaten at most of the Culver's restaurants in the state. I haven't had a single bad experience yet, the quality is the same at every location. Even eating at Culver's down south in Missouri and Texas, still the same. It's phenomenal, I probably have a legitimate addiction eating there, so good!
We eat there pretty much every time we go to Platteville
I notice that the restaurant is nice. It's just set up well and clean.
@Aidan Speaks I'm from Darlington. We go to Platteville to buy things.
I walked into one in Austin Texas with my dad and we ended up not eating there. I need to find one where I live now and try it.
I'd gain 200lbs if a Culvers was 2 blocks from my apt. 🏘
I definitely think Culver’s is one of the highest quality restaurants you can classify as “fast food”
You should check out Freddie's
In N Out is overrated. No, I did not say it was bad, that’s not the same thing. Something can be good and overrated.
In the past they have considered themselves not "fast food" but "quick service"
@@djdeadbeat4380 Culver's is ok and overrated. If you have access to a better frozen custard stand you don't go there.
As someone who works at Culvers I 100% can vouch that the food and service is like no other
Приходите в Рассию ,места хватит всем !
"Unique menu" doesn't mention the cheese curds at all?
Tessou a bit offended haha
I was about to say something about no mention of cheese curds as well
I’m somewhat of an expert on cheese curds, and I gotta say...Culver’s cheese curds are sub par cheese curds. Any local pub in Wisconsin can outdo Culver’s cheese curds
@@jackkienbaum2702 lol I wouldn't say any local pub. Now The Alley in Ashland, those are definitely better.
Kinda funny how the towns you mentioned I’ve been to....

I wonder if he keeps saying "small town in Wisconsin" because he doesnt know how to say Sauk City lol
I corrected that)
Idk he first talks about Shopko now Culver's... I feel like he is trying to say he lives at least in the Midwest
