Vasudeva is a playful instrumental band who deploy an array of delay, reverb, and echo to define their complex textures. The reticent three-piece formed a lasting relationship in early childhood and have been friends and musical confidants ever since. This personal relationship is an integral part of Vasudeva’s clean, effortlessly dynamic sound. Corey Mastrangelo and Grant Mayer’s dual guitars bounce off each other playfully tapping and strumming harmonious lead parts. Derek Broomhead’s quick hands deliver beats fit for a club; constantly pulsing as conductor of the trio’s chaotic arrangements. His stable undertone creates a firm backdrop for the band’s slickly grooving guitar banter.
Recorded on July 13, 2015 in Chicago, IL.

Dereks playing both drums and bass. He actually has two extra arms growing out of his back that are playing the parts so fast and smooth you can't even see it happening.

Stop Making Yourself Miserable- 12:44

you're a hero! thx
AudioTree has turned me on to so many bands...Vasudeva being just another one i love. Awesome performance here the only thing that would have made it better would have been a live bass player.
"AudioTree has turned me on to so many bands",,,me too
"Audiotree turned me on"
Same.......same. 😁
i did not even notice there was no bass player..
Since the first riffs i just got amazed, didnt want this session to end.
The sound in that room is amazing!
I used to see vasudeva at shows in Bernardsville and NJ back in 2010 . Their music brings me back so much it’s crazy . This band is truely one of a kind and played a huge part in my musical memory bank . Makes me wanna go back. Thanks vasudeva ! One day you guys will get the recognition you deserve !
This is really good. Smooth yet upbeat. So glad this whole performance is available on Spotify because it sounds great. Keep up the good work!
that drum kit sounds amazing! love the snare sound!
I'm so happy I just stumbled across these guys. Pretty unique and seem like great dudes
This band is so amazing I could listen to them all day every day
Great energy for a chill/ambient group. Love the sounds, what amazingness!
They've been this good for years. So cool to see them getting the attention their talent deserves.
Seriously, I saw them for the first time SEVEN years ago playing Roots of the Tree for our high school
@Ross Newhouse
Yup, I went To BHS with Grant & Corey. Never hung out with them, but always liked their music & played in Battle of the Bands against them
I love this session so much!
Feels like chon and enemies are playing at the same time ^_^
Love this band so grateful for their music
So excited to see Chon and Vasudeva live in Tucson next week.
Saw them on KY Louisville. Dance Gavin Dance kinda ruin it though.
2016 was a different time
I met these guys a couple years back at their gig with Tides of Man in my hometown. They are super chill dudes, we shared a few drinks then me and 2 mates went to London the next day to see it all again :D
Friends got great taste!
such a talented group of guys
Do you think they use flavor guitar picks ?
😂😂😂
Hahahahhaa
Gotta be like a strawberry kiwi pick
idk why they even have them to be honest ahahah
The economical approach to drumming is fascinating! Super solid with an absolute minimal kit. Great!
Glad I stumbled upon this
amazing stuff!
Super bandota! Audio Tree, gracias por todos las las nuevas grandes bandas que me acabas de enseñar.
SG's are pretty underrated in this genre. Too many guys go with shredder guitars like Ibanez (which I like) but the SG's got a nice neck that is pretty good to tap and the sound is pretty whole like a Les Paul without the weight.
YESSS
These guys are fantastic
Awesome!!
Congratulations!!
these guys are amazing!
Great performance! Love the bass on the first track. I agree it would've been great to check that out live.
This is wonderful
Just saw these guys last night on tour with Eidola,Dance Gavin Dance, and Chon. Never heard these guys or Eidola before but they put on an awesome show!!
Excited to play with these guys July 10th in MN!!!
Awesome!!
Bruv I come back so often to re watch this for inspiration 🔥🔥🔥
I love this band, we're waiting you guys here in italy.
Love this - reminds me of an instrumental Minus the Bear
Simply amazing
New favourite band. Thanks again Audiotree❤️
wonderful and invested interviewer, he's always my favorite for bands.
I like the fact that he asked about the bands gear. Is an interesting way to do an interview.
Santiago P. The audiotree team usually does for each session
these guys are fuckin amazing. i'm gonna be listening for the next month straight.
Inspired and brilliant.
Awesome band!
beautiful
clean rules! full tone ftw
This is fresh!
My new Favorite Math-rock band! Thank you Audiotree!!
They seem like super cool guys.
Believe it or not, these guys are awesome to listen to in the gym.
Jool confirmed!
I dig this
Bloody good drummer.
My go to post rock / math rock band if you like vasudeva you will love Corey's solo project just as much I want to see them live some day
these guys are so fucking GOOD
good stuff
I remember these dudes every now and then
This is just good music !! Friday morning playing V loud :)
The sort of band you can have in the background, or focus the fuck out of. Great stuff.
super awesome 🔥🍻
I love indie!
that drumming
I was looking for a good song\album to get relentlessly high to, needless to say im beyond satisfied.
Good stuff, my son just showed them to me 👍
I dig it
Huge drummer !!! :O :D
interview and band both laid back as fuck dig this!
Great songs. I love it. curious to know though. Is the bass a pre-recorded track or the bassist is just not on the video for some reason?
The drums sound great! Clean and crisp!
Daniel Horton
Daniel Horton i
drummer is insanely good
This was 2015? Whatre they up to now? Time to google and wiki. Damn the melodies and how each of them play w each other 👌🏼
ohhh yes
Some great tapping skills. Not enough going on at times for me to fully enjoy the choice to be instrumental. But amazing musicians, and clean composition and performance.
I think that might actually be why I like them so much. I adore stuff like Toe but it's great to hear something with energy that also isn't mind boggling complex.
Nissim Bloom I think part of it is the way the drums and guitar contrast too much at times. but listening again I can appreciate it more
Nissim Bloom duuuudeee but not so many people know about toe i fucking love them but their tracks are full and have lots of stuff going especially two moons
Nissim Bloom my thoughts are different with toe compared to this band. I definitely have gained more respect for vasudeva, but toe is more versatile, and presents a lot more timbre in their music. so, hard to compare completely, imo.
Ryan Perrin toe is definitely in a different league skill wise but these guys have some nice tunes
Finally--neck tapping used for something other than "shredding."
that use of feedback at 15:27 THO!
I want to work at audiotree. So many great bands play here
What is Karpizzle doing on drums?
best goddang band 😍
That invisible bassist though haha
if there is heaven in UA-cam this would be it
I can't really tell what to listen to here... so many different ideas and sometimes all at once. But nicely done.
Why do they even have picks when they just chew on them the whole time?
DomSchu , not all the time.
Oral fixation.
That's my pet peeve as a guitarist. Seeing other guitarists put their picks on their mouth, there's better alternatives.
Lol
@@eldirtyfaygo5395 it makes me feel cool
Props on the black SG. Possibly the sickest guitar ever made. On some batman shit.
I love the interviewer so much.
I wish I could hear what the band was saying about their pedals :\
Love this band! They remind me a bit of Minus The Bear
definitely felt that as well
haha, same here. But MTB is better.
Justin Ford Agreed! Not enjoying the new album though...
could you send me a link of a song that reminds you of them? Because what I found well ... let's just say I didn't enjoy it that much
listen to HRP, MEO, and Beer Commercials.
does anyone know the name of the "host/interviewer" guy? he is like very passionate and interested in every band he works with in audiotree, such a nice guy, I want him to be my mate hahah
love that sh#t man
mmm yummy guitar picks
if you like this you might like these
Alaska - Shrine
Tiny Moving Parts - Swell
Algernon Cadwallader
American Football
A lot like Birds
Mom Jeans
Physics House Band
Enjoy the listens man
Thank you so much!!!
u are an angel thanks
You're welcome :) music is for all to enjoy. We should never keep secrets when it comes to good jams
I would like to piggyback and add:
Piglet - lava land
Enemies - we’ve been talking
Maps and atlases - tree, swallows, houses
Ttng- animals
Don Caballero - American don
Hella - hold your horse is
Ghosts and vodka - addicts and drunks
Toe - the book about my idol plot on a vague anxiety
Minus the bear - highly refunded pirates
Look Mexico - this is animal music
The Appleseed cast - mare vitalis or (two conversations)
Are those flavored picks?
19:00 the drummer talks about his influences and taste in music.I've been trying to get the names but I failed. I hear "mango" and "synchro" is a english dubstep project ? Can somebody help me ?
mango is a fruit
There's Sango and Synkro. Both dubstep artists, both really good.
anyone know what tuning they are using?
god damn
I may be missing something here but where is the bass coming from? Lol
Also, great performance -- love these guys.
hey yeah that's why I was scrolling thru the comments...I will scroll further
@@timodelange Its just a backing track probably.
yeah it's a backing track. You can see the drummer hit his Sample Pad in the beginning of every song. They also did it that way when i saw them at ArcTanGent '16. :)
Oh yeah and the drummer is tight AF
One day the bunny will be on AudioTree❤❤❤❤🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
yo homies who knows the 2 bands the drummer recommends I couldn't understand
Anchor Drums represent.
bass backtracked?
yeah, seems like bassist left the band so..
cool like
If I enjoy this Band, Chon, Toe and LITE, which other bands should I check? Thanks!
Sebastian Shammer Caspian, Stoned Jesus, Polyphia
brilliant, thank you!
Sebastian Shammer- plini, animals as leaders, intervals.
Stoned Jesus and this band are nothing alike.
Uchu Conbini.. to give you a fresh start listen to their song Pyramid..
Um I can hear the bass line being played and see a bass cab... but where is their bassist? lol unless they pre record and play their bass line on a backing track?
A lot of bands do that now :) It's sometimes hard to find a bandmember at the right time and you can't cancel such events like audiotree or huge lives !
bass tracks are pre-recorded, you can see the drummer pressing play and cuing the guitars in
