I have only “burned “ wood a couple of times but I do make signs with paint and use vinyl for my stencil. Trust me, use permanent vinyl. The 631 just doesn’t give the good stick down you need for sharp lettering. Plus the removable vinyl is a pain to adhere. The permanent vinyl comes off pretty easily. It would have to be left on the wood for a long time for you to have a problem removing it.
