Clara Lieu was an Adjunct Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design from 2007-2020. Her artwork has been exhibited at the International Print Center NY, the Currier Museum, Childs Gallery, the Davis Museum, and more. Lieu received an artist fellowship from the MA Cultural Council, has written for the NY Times, and lectured at Brown University, the NAEA conference, and in Vancouver & China. I just recently started drawing and painting portraits. If the shape of the face isn't correct, it doesn't matter how well I draw or paint the eyes, nose, or mouth of the figure. It just won't look like them.
And honestly, this is the easiest thing for me to correct.

I really was starting with the eyes, the nose, the mouth, and then adding the face around everything, before I watched this.

A very informative video once again!
I have a question if we don't start with the eyes first in a portrait, then how shall we take the measurements? I use the eyes as a measurement tool to get my proportions in place. Would be extremely helpful if you answer!
I don't draw with measurements, but I think the important thing is to look for the skeletal structure instead of the eyes/nose/mouth.
