Did I Waste My Money? Which is Better Retail or Hobby Box?

I stopped buying artifacts retail. I am recently into the hobby, and I probably opened 5 total boxes. Got 0 numbered cards, 1 single rookie (barre-boulette), and a handful of the teal parallel (the super basic parallel.
Unfortunately there is slim picking for choice in my area

Hobby is generally better, but artifacts retail is horribly the worst of all retail
