La prima cosa che si nota ascoltando Franco Bordoni è la merivigliosa messa di voce ma poi, ascoltando bene ci si rende conto delle altre straordinarie doti. Musicalità, forza interpretativa, appropriati colore, timbro, il tutto basato sulle fondamenta di una granitica tecnica. Ciò che possiamo ascoltare di lui, in questi CD è tutto live, senza trucchi e inganni. Con Bordoni l'Italia ha avuto un portabandiera che passerà alla storia dell'Opera Lirica: gloria e vanto di Bologna!
Si veramente un vero baritono e che si affianca alla tradizione dei puri baritoni...e in più bellissima voce.Peccato in Italia si sia ascoltato poco...In queste sue arie è magistrale.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If truth be known, Bordoni is up there with the best of baritones, past and present. What an easy flowing top. The Trovatore aria brough back memories of the De Luca version i have in my collection. I have also heard him sing arias and duets from I Vespri Siciliani with Placido Domingo and a Sharpless from Madame Butterfly.
Can you do a video about lyric vs dramatic voices? People complain that dramatics are gone but it’s more like lyrics are being given the roles. There are some who “pull it off” but there’s nothing like a true dramatic voice in the rep but people don’t seem to care anymore
Actually, I don't think I can. I'd have to compare videos of different sound qualities, and especially the older ones reveal very little about how the singers actually sounded. It is super easy to sound big and dramatic when the recording is bad and overly compressed. Some frequencies are eclipsed, and with them not necessarily only the good but very often also the bad. When recorded in a certain way, even Anna Moffo can sound huge. So, in order to make a fair video, I'd need footage of different singers more or less made in the same way. Very difficult.
