Thanks for this clarification. But... wow is it stupid by Google to make users open a web browser to see the backed-up content that's no longer on the device. This should definitely be a feature of app itself! And as others have mentioned... there's no easy way to RESTORE to device (using Download saves in a new location with new metadata. 👎) Hopefully this can be updated in the future.
It tells me to download the app even tho I already have it installed on my phone :(

Try setting the page to desktop mode. I don't have an iPhone, but for android, just click the 3 dots on the top right-hand corner and select "desktop".

There are photos that are backed up with saver quality and also with original quality. So how to know which photos are backed up with original quality ? (As original quality is taking up space from my Google account- I want to remove them )

@@nanthuvenkat154 you mean you have pictures in Google photos. But you are not able to delete?
It should be simple - you delete the pictures first and go to Trash to delete forever.
If you are doing it from phone and still confused about it, then I suggest open the Google photos from laptop browser and try deleting it.

To free up space, you can go to Google Photos, select the photos you don’t want, and delete them. Make sure to also empty the trash in Google Photos. If your phone’s storage is full because of downloads, you can clear them from your device without deleting them from the cloud. 👌
I have a question about my backed up photos My phone keeps asking me to back up my photos and I never want to do this because it eats up memory on my phone but somehow by accident I said yes one of the times and it backed up tons of my photos and I want to know if there's a way to undo it without having to delete my photos?

The backup process is soooo slow do you know what affects the upload speed I tried 100 and it takes forever to finish
Trevor Nace: I had some photos taken with my samsung galaxy in the summer of 2018, and they will always show in my google photos, but as of the begging of this year 2024, these specific photos stop showing and I can't find them anymore. I have a 100 GB of storage through google subscription, and only 30 GB of the 100 are taken. I've checked in my google photos over and over and over, but I can't find them, am I missing something??? I backed it up but the dates of when the photo were taken are wrong? There's multiple photo of different places and they're all on the same date

I am stil missing a shit ton of photos. It's sad. It was from an airshow which my country did every 2 years I think, but that one I had photos and videos from was the last one they ever did, because of funding because it was too expensive. It was in 2018. I can literally not see any photo in that time line.
Losing precious memories is tough, especially from such a special event. Have you checked all the folders in Google Photos, including the archive and trash? Sometimes photos can be accidentally archived or deleted. 🤞
Why does the photos and videos don't get backed up automatically to backup after they are clicked ??.....it gets backed up only when I'm home
It's probably because you have it set to only backup photos on wifi and not cellular data. I think you can change this in backup settings.
when a video is backup on Google, does that video still exist on your phone or it went to Google photo?
Make sure you have it set for Mobile data usually it only connect with wifi in the settings

ok but how do you see it within the app? i dont want to go to a website. i have some photos in albums but those are the only cloud stored photos that will display on the app. and when i try to make a new album in the app, the only photos it shows are the phots on my device. i want to see the photos on the cloud within the app. not a website. i want to organize them all intot he folders that my phone has them in. not sure why google photos just organizees by date not by the folders they were in
