I’ve stopped taking them early and my infection came back 5 times worse. I hate antibiotics but I have to finish this course.

The second doctor pretty much avoided the whole question altogether, but he's point is completely valid. Short course antibiotic treatment is better than longer. It lowers the chance of resistance as you as taking the medication for a shorter period of time and FINISHING it as told by your doctor. I'm currently of a 5 day course for strep throat and even though i feel better halfway through, finish the dose. It's only 5 days. You would rather have taken less antibiotics to build a defence than too much at a time causing more issues than you started with. Having said that, listen to what your doctor says, as each case it different and everyone handles their medication differently. Some people get side affects from certain prescriptions and others don't. Same goes with how your body fights the infection. At the end of the day, listen to your doctor.

It might depend on how much a person has taken antibiotic in the past. How much resistance they have to it.

Some antibiotics indicates possibly of liver damage. Then in a case of weak liver perhaps shorter term is better on a case by case basis.

I think finish the course even after your feeling better because theres a very high chance it will come back.

Well I'm no expert about this field, but shall we stop consuming antibiotics when our body has generated enough natural antibiotic to fight the disease? Too much antibiotics can also bring harm to us, isn't it?

Asian, I'm on 10 day dose for abscess tooth. Talk @ harm....
the side effects were somrthing else for me. I endured for 8 days and mouth feels great. The rest of me felt horrible. Dr. said get off. Felt better each day from there.
There has to be exceptions. If i made it 8, that's enough. If only on few days maybe he would have given a different antibiotic.
Anyway, i kept up salt water swishing in mouth.

I guess it depends on the person. Everyone's immune system is differant. Like me in past I get sick with strep, or tonsillitis, in worse case bronchitis. I get get put on antibiotics, I'd take the recommend dosage 2 pills 3 times a day for 7 days along with the nasty(grape flavored) cough meds that just mainly put me to sleep and sore throat lozenges. I'd almost finish them but stop about day 6, i hate taking pills and be fine for another 1 year or two. always came back during the late summer early fall. Weather changing and my sinus draining. I have bad sinus issues. But been taking claratin once a day and it's been keeping that sinus drainage at bay. Since i hate taking pills my doc. Would give me a steroid shot in the hip area, id still get the liquid grape cough meds to help me rest, within 30 mins I feel better, tonsil swelling would go down, fever break, i was able to eat chicken noodle soup, drink water or apple or orange juice and within 3 days, I 100% myself.

Sammiez Jewelry lYou ought to try mucinex on a daily (or every few days, once a week, whatever) basis. It’s awesome for that stuff.

Depends on your individual scenario and illness. My kid gets such aweful ear infections sometimes without any warning of prior soreness, or pnemonia, it's so scary. The doctors will sometimes have her take a super dose of antibiotics for 2 weeks, plus a gross tasting steriod for her lungs to combat the sickness. Even if I get strep we both always follow the instructions to the letter because we were taught that viruses can build up an immunity if you don't kill all of it the first time with the whole script of meds. But in other situations with other people your doctor will tell you if you need a follow up checkup if you start feeling better. Just don't go off meds until consulting your MD beforehand.

I love how the producers made the whole studio audience skinny city girls in leather jackets, spaghetti straps and glasses nobody prescribed them.

I was on triple antibiotic for 2 week, for H pylori. I have had H pylori for 15 years. I finally decided to treat it. I took every pill, with only minor side effects. It didn't work or I re caught it.
About a month later I am put on triple antibiotic again. Only a different kind. I have have upset stomach and trowing up, burbling, eyelids turned dark pink, eyes hurt, Constipation and jet black stool from the Bismuth. I also feel funny when I stand up. I got down, my frist dose this morning. I couldn't force myself to take anymore. My stomach is swollen and hurts. I have now missed 3 doses and still throwing up, dosen't look like blood or chocolate. Just food. I quit ! Trying some probiotics, a little water and going to bed. It's now the weekend. Doctor has not returned my calls. I had managed to stay on the antibiotics for only 5 and a half days.

Can you take colloidal silver instead of antibiotics or iodine?

    • @thelonelypigeon9554
      @thelonelypigeon9554 8 місяців тому

Late reply: No, because drinking pure Ag+ is like rolling bullets onto a target. But 925 Silver, a silver alloy mixed with copper and zinc DOES. Drinking such a thing could pose problems like killing good gut bacteria. Doesnt actually go into your bloodstream as it'll probably get filtered by your kidneys or liver before it could do anything.
Applying 925 silver on a wound however does actually work but also CAN destroy healthy cells as well like a double edged sword but steroidal creams do the same thing. 😂
Long story short answer: No, it'd be pointless to drink such a thing as substitution for antibiotics. Also don't drink iodine, that's bad too unless it's a oral medication.
