You don't realise it, but you are rich. Give us your companies like Boeing, Tesla, SpaceX, GM, Nvidia, Apple if you don't want them
I stopped zpending money only for necessity
Not really. The money from the tariffs will be used to subsidize American production. So, China is essentially forced to subsidize American production. American goods will be cheaper. How much cheaper depends on how high the tariffs go.
Imagine Chinese vehicles being bought here with 100% tariff. How overpriced are the USA autos that they need to have these tariffs against China to stay competitive?
Should be ok amercian are rich anyway according to grandma Yallen
Cheap import cutoff American firms competitiveness because workers right and wage are higher in the USA
if it is really just 100%. Chinese ev would be still very affordable and high quality compared to other.
It doesn't matter. The money from the tariff will be used to lower the cost of American producers. So American products will be more affordable relative to Chinese products. The Chinese can subsidize their producers as much as they want. Chinese money will be used to subsidize American production.
China products like these electric vehicles are heavily subsidized in China. That’s why they’re able to sell them so cheap. Add to that the artificial devaluation of their currency and you have the cheap vehicles that’s been in the news lately. They’re not playing fair. Then again it’s China so we’re not surprised.
Syringes, needes, surgical gloves. Hospitals will now charge you 100x more for these items. Brilliant move.
Well hospitals is charging a toilet paper for $15-20. The bottom line coast of the healthcare cost will go up.
Glad someone realised this
Our healthcare insurance cost is going up. Thank you Joe Biden.
Yeah because some other country won’t step up and make them cheaper now. You act like it isn’t possible to make simple items like these.

The government gets to collect increased tariffs, while people have to pay higher prices for goods regardless of whether they're made in the US or China. Lots of things we are using are not even produced here. If they intend to force Americans to by American-made goods, they better have domestic alternatives. Otherwise, people are paying higher prices for no reasons.
Lot of companies have moved manufacturing out of China to other countries. Production in China had become more costly. Is actually cheaper to produce in a lot of other countries instead of China
@itsallminor6133 Manufacturing moved out of China doesn't solve the problems the Biden tariffs trying to address, which is to create domestic manufacturing jobs here in the States. In the end they will have to raise tariffs on all cheap goods regardless of where they are imported from if they want to force Americans to consider buying American-made goods due to price parity.

Cheap import cutoff American firms competitiveness because wage and workers right are lower in China
The tariff means that now other countries will get investment and can develop alternative production facilities without Chinese influence. It's better for the US to have multiple suppliers. The tariff is the first step to remove the lock China has on production. Other countries should welcome this and take advantage to develop their own production facilities. We all know the reasons why China wants to maintain the monopoly on production, and we shouldn't let them. One thing is clear the US should develop proper vetting procedures and country of origin checks to make sure China doesn't slip in unnoticed.

Whereas US government has been talking nonsense about defending human rights while all that its doing is genociding, killing, engaging in wars, while its population is suffering from homelessness, drug addict, inflation, crumbling infrastructures, expensive transportation, expensive medical health care.
QArabicReja, you said .China🇨🇳 needs to play by the rules and respect human rights. Do you want China to play by the rules like the US has been doing? Giving military weapon and bomb to the Israeli govt and causing at least 45K+ death and counting or do you prefer China bomb other countries like the US bombing middle east for the last 40 years. I can provide you with the list on which countries have the US has bomb and the total casualties ...we talking millions have died. Tell me what do you mean play by the rules ? I would advice you to go back to school instead of opening your loud mouth....Probably a little to late for you to learn... due to your lack of intelligence.
Not mentioned: the tariff on Chinese made steel increased to 25%. If you don’t know, there are basically only two countries that make almost all the steel in the world: China and India. China produces so much steel, it produces as much as much as the top nine countries in the world, in terms of production, including India. India produces almost all the rest of the steel in the world. This tariff is going to force India’s steel to be significantly more price competitive. This could have very significant changes for the steel industry in India and the manufacturing industry in America.
