When they said he looked like Mike no offense to Mike but i always wondered if he was trying to look like Prince. MJ before the surgery didn't look anything like Prince, not even close but Prince always looked like, well...Prince lol. I kinda wonder if MJ was inspired by his look because when Prince came out he looked like nobody else naturally. Prince was the one taking mysterious photo's for magazines & album covers. Whether it was a photo of just Prince's eyes or him staring into your soul at the camera. Prince was doing that since the late 70's. Then came MJ'S bad album in the late 80's where he is basically looking like Prince. Kinda wonder. 🤔
This video was fairly tame and played on MTV and VH1. I don’t remember hearing anything bad about it. His MTV Awards performance of Gett Off was another story. Lots of controversy around that. It was the same time period as this song.
This video dropped in 1991 and was on his "Diamonds & Pearls" album. It was Prince's last #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. They didn't censor music videos during this time so this video aired on MTV, VH1, BET, Friday Night Videos as you see it.
I don't recall any controversy for this video or song. Back then people weren't so extra sensitive and so "all about me and my feelings". Nowadays some people just take things too seriously and ruin the fun. Therefore, they are more anxiety ridden and stressed out.
I was there and I still can't believe this song got as much airplay as it did 🤭But it's not remotely Prince's most overtly sexual jam (see also: Gett Off, Darling Nikki)
Need to get on the “Ren” train! Hi Ren and much more! Ren is an amazing new artist on the scene with many styles of fresh music that takes you on a journey…
Prince's Last #1 Hit. Though his last Masterpiece would land a few years later with "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World." Lots more hits in the past. But no more new classics.
It's Prince! Everything he does is amazing. The NPG was an excellent band. He surrounded himself with talented musicians. Love this song! This was off his DIAMONDS & PEARLS album from 1991. It is a great vibe and the song is just a fun one. Prince experimented with a lot of different style and sounds. You want controversial? Check out the song "Darling Nikki" off of the PURPLE RAIN album. This song got a lot of shit from the PMRC and was one of the reasons for labeling albums. Also, Prince has a song called "P-Control" that created some controversy. Throughout his career he made a lot of music that was both sexual and faith driven, often times combining the two into his songs. Lots to react to where Prince is concerned.
The woman who sang with Prince in this video is the same woman who sings with him on his song "Diamonds and Pearls" Have you guys reacted to "Diamonds and Pearls"
@@you2449 Yeah, it'd been a while since I heard it. The riff is not as prominent in Cream as I remembered, but at the very end of Cream you hear a little bit of the dat dat dat dit dit dit riff.
Sorry you had to see that, guys. LOL. Told ya - his videos are cringy asf. BUT the music is what it's all about. Cream is funky as hell. And some of the Gett Off remixes are fire!
Prince said he wrote this song about himself when he was looking in the mirror shaving.
True. was literally giving himself a Pep-talk !
If you haven’t reacted to “Get Off” by Prince, ITS A MUST!

So good!
The song is from 1991. The male dancers are The Game Boyz. This is a tame video for Prince.
One of my favorite songs/videos

😂😂😂He performed this live on national TV multiple times…so yes it was very “accepted.”

You need to check out Pop Life. Cool song. It’s not as big as some of his other songs, but I think it’s a great song.
Love the channel guys , please react to “ darling Nikki” , not sure if it has a video but at least it has a sound track
This is tame Prince.
The woman who sang with Prince in this video is the same woman who sings with him on his song "Diamonds and Pearls"
Have you guys reacted to "Diamonds and Pearls"
Try Night Ranger, Don’t tell me you love me, live 1985
You should really try Gett Off
Prince was always surrounded by the pretties bunnies no doubt he was a lady's man .
Diamonds And Pearls is a good song 2.
Paul McCartney's Ou Est Le Soleil from a few years earlier has the same riff.
just listened to the McCartney song for the first time - - couldn't hear a similarity, but that was a great song. very trippy.

The video was fine, y’all are a lot more prudish nowadays than we were back in the day…
