I just got mine and did the same as you… just winged the transformation. Between my attempts and things you tried, I managed to get it into what I believe is full bot mode. One difference is that if you pop open the front bottom shin panels and then swing down the upper front shin panels, it will let you tuck away that unsightly panel covering the knee. Then you just close the two shin panels and the legs are done.
I like the vintage toy gimmick that doesn't let u transform into bot mode until u connect the powermaster. It was so simple to do, that's a pity they didn't reply on this figure. Overall is very show accurate to me and I'm glad to have a copy of this. I think I'll buy another for the Super Mode, giving me the opportunity to show both. Maybe a third one just to have alternate mode with trailer 🙂
Tengo la figura completa y es impresionante,es la figura que estéticamente se acerca más al cómic y a los dibujos animados, además de tener un tamaño masterpiece idóneo,ya que power baser de Fans hobby debería ser un poco más alto para escalar perfectamente (tengo ambos) La nueva versión de takara será todavía más pequeña y aunque parece una buena figura creo que no es tan parecida a la animación como está figura de KFC y sería para la escala chug. Buena review
