Finally got mine - it's really quite nice - I don't regret it - I only have a couple of other Fans Toys figures, most everything else I have is Takara - I was not overly impressed with the previous Fans Toys purchases I made - while the figures certainly look beautiful with the paint, etc, I was not very impressed with the engineering - things seemed kind of .... jury rigged in places. This Ultra Magnus figure, however .... I am impressed with all of it. I have not yet transformed it into car carrier mode, but I have looked over the full robot mode (with armor) and I have removed the armor and gotten the core robot fully transformed into its robot mode, and I must say - while I find the engineering to be overly complex in places, it does not feel jury rigged. Everything has its place, and the engineering feels more....mature. This is the first Fans Toys figure I have handled that feels on par with Takara engineering. The feet of the core robot do not seem problematic to me at all. He seems perfectly balanced, to be quite honest, and the surface area of the feet, if transformed correctly, appear to be perfectly sufficient.
It is funny that this Ultra Magnus needs to stay on that "Anime Forward Pelvic Thrust Pose" for both Armored and Core Robot. Splendid review and a very cool figure. (Imo, I feel reassured that Magic Square's Light of Peace is the most optimized Transfromers Masterpiece Optimus Prime figure.)
I have to say his proportions are VERY good considering they went with the core robot + armor gimmick. Way better than I was expecting and better than the photos made him look. I still prefer the more buff/heroic looking XTB's look overall, but Ultra Magnus being probably my favorite G1 character I'll still be getting this anyway.
I said this on the transformation video, but XTB's Stack takes the same amount of time to transform as this figure's CAB (which somehow has MP44 beat) and got so much more flak. Also, the backpack and speedo-looking crotch were not even mentioned. This would have been a 3 for any other company. For the record, I wanted this figure to blow it out of the park. UM is my favorite character, and I more than saw the appeal of a white Prime in armor. I don't believe in wanting other companies to fail because I prefer other companies (which, I still think that FT is the best in the business), but this feels like a downgrade to Stack, sidegrade at the very best.
Yeah, I love Fanstoys products but people do tend to overlook their flaws a bit too much. The XTB's transformation was NOT fun (although there is one particular guide on UA-cam that helps a LOT), but this one honestly is even worse. I just leave my THF KO Magnus in truck mode now, while my XTB is my go-to bot mode. But he will soon be joined by the Fanstoys. I don't usually double dip when I have an MP scale figure I'm happy with unless the quality improves MASSIVELY (which XTB's Commander Stack did imo, just the look and the articulation was so much better than the MP which I was never especially happy with), but for Ultra Magnus I will make an exception 😁 I don't really care for the core bot, and I do like XTBs proportions better (and the articulation is a lot better). I would say the FT probably has the better paint job. So I would agree with you calling it a side grade. And if this was any other G1 character apart from Ultra Magnus, I'd skip him. But he's my favorite G1 character and I'm on a mission to own every G1 Magnus and BW Cheetor out there. 😅
@@leGUIGUI I understand what you are trying to say, but at the end of the day, you can translate both of these transformations to some amount of fun. While I see why Stack was knocked down for the transformation, but we have never seen such a clean Magnus figure prior to Stack and there are other figures, including FT ones, that have transformations just as bad, like Roadking, while still being nowhere as clean or receiving anywhere near the criticism that Stack got. However, we have seen a multitude of Primes, including Newage's design that accommodates a Magnus. I have my criticisms of Octavian but also acknowledge the limitations due to its size. For MP figures, this could very well have been tweaked for a cleaner silhouette. However, the FT design has far more complexity but has a very similar profile.
Fans Toys should either release Margh with fixed core bot feet, a set of fixed feet, a set of newly designed feet, or include a set of fixed or newly designed feet with their Optimus (who would himself have fixed or newly designed feet).
13:55 Hey hey hey...where is Rewind. He had a cameo in that glorious film 😂. Great Review TM. I'm waiting on mine. Got him for the unarmored Roboto mode.

@wintdah7778 As someone who has all the MP Primes and still thinks MS02 is easily the best one not just in sculpt/G1 accuracy, but in terms of transformation and articulation as well, I actually am still excited for their release of Optimus cause I think he looks good for a more slimmed down Optimus Prime, and like the proportions. Thry already have images of their prime standing next to Margh and it does look much better. Overall, MS02 is still more cartoon accurate and still my favorite, but I do like the slight proportional differences and feel it's accurate to some frames in the cartoon. And the amount of transformation lines and panels on the cab of the truck look absolutely disgusting. MS02 definitely wins by a landslide there. The only thing I prefer about the fanstoys truck is the full tires that actually have the thickness of a real semi truck's tires. No other company has done that yet, which is cool, but it's not worth the extra money, and that transformation
Why is there no cab mode comparison between X-Transbots Commander Stack and Fans Toys Margh? And even with the comparison we do get with the Takara Tomy Ultra Magnus who is there no point-for-point comparison of the car carrier modes?
The truck cab looks great , especially the back of the truck , transformation is smooth , and Like you pointed out , issues with it , & still MP-22 Is The best in my mind

The combined mode looks great, and has a good level of articulation. The core bot looks great, but the ankle and feet are a real oversight, but then Asian figures do like a hip thrust pose. Will definitely be using your videos for reference when I get my copy soon.
Looks really cool in robot mode (Ultra Magnus). It is disappointing that the alt mode suffers so much for the gimmick of the white Prime. Mostly because I would never had display it that way.
I just hope the issues with the core bot are fixed for their version of Optimus. Not sure if that's possible but yeah, not giving me hope right now. Fwiw Commander Stack will be the one I pickup eventually, one of the few XTB bots that beats out FT.
FT is my favorite 3rd party company thanks to jazz, mirage, Galvatron (all 3 paint versions), sound wave, and cliffjumper, but this Magnus is trash compared to Stack. Any other company would be 💩 on for that back pack alone for the gaps showing white prime, let alone the panels on the cab and carrier in alt mode and the jacked up matrix chamber.
Don't you find it odd that the faces and eyes are on a sprue/runner? Just seems like it leaves a little room for paint chips and a non-painted spot on the chin.
The advantage is that by delivering on the runner there is no chance at accidentally having the same part double or missing one. A factory employee would have to undo the parts from the runner and then pack them all into the box, giving a high chance of human error.
We are just noting that it is different from what FT usually does, they always prepack them in baggies, but it wasn't much of an issue once I found the numbering system
@@TMReviews Okay, and how does that reflect on what I said? The runners help with preventing people getting double parts or missing them right out of the box, i.e. a factory mistake. @justhereforinsanity asked a question and I gave the answer as to why Fanstoys started doing it this way. 👍
Damn it! I was dead set on not getting him because although ft was going to have the best paint, there was no freakin way that ft was going to get the proportions better than xtb having to do a prime with armor on top! Thank you for the review, great job. I'm disappointed the inner bot can't stand properly, makes no sense. Other than that, this is by far, without question, the best ultra magnus that has ever been made. Can't wait for the comparison with xtb and maybe takara,
When you put the FM beside Xbot.. i just realise the porportions of the arms are way better on FM. Too bad, was liking the Xbot due to having nicer alt mode. FM does standout in bot mode. Think the core robot is a good desgin..would been better without the red paint on the forearms.. it would still look good in full armor mode. Overall the transformation looks good aswell
I still want an Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Hotrod or Optimus Prime that can actually hold the matrix... All matrix designs are way too small for the autobot... This Ultra Magnus looks amazing though 🤘🏻
Looks killer..Love the seperate bot/cab..The transformation process..fk that.. absolute mess.Over engineering just for the sake.Im all for complex and clever transformation processs. It needs to be intuitive and fun still IMO.This is just sadistic😂😂..Looks awesome tho.
Wow, that monstrosity made XTB version look simple and intuitive and we didnt even get to see the transformation into the truck, only half the "Prime", a never buy from me
I feel like FT got the chest too small. They went the opposite way Hasbro did when they made it too large. Honestly I think XT looks better overall. Otherwise usually FT figures look great posing but are terrible to transform. I have a few but rarely transform them. I’ll stick with my simpler more-fun SS 86 Ultra Magnus for now. I just wish Takara would come out with a fine-tuned +version for MP-22
Didn't see anyone comment on this. You didn't transform the core robot crotch correctly. You need to put it back to the original position you found it when unboxing. It will shorten him a bit, hide the hip joints, and it should help balancing him better.
It looks beautiful for sure, and I'm sure the build and finish quality is high up there, but I've never liked the white prime gimmick and prefer toon accuracy, and for those reasons I'm very happy to stick with my 2024 reissue of xtb magnus with the improved shoulders(At least my copy's shoulders are perfect). I love the all in one style transformation, just like in the cartoon, he's one kf the figures I enjoy flipping back and forth the most. I am really looking forward to how FT does their optimus however to possibly replace my te01
And yes- Margs full truck mode looks kibbly and a bit ugly. XTB wins in truck mode- though my xtb has a stiff wheel too and the crotch flap is unnecessarily fragile given its not central transformation- thats odd.Margh looks nice in full armoured mode though.
I know it is a Chinese company but I am going to reach way out of nowhere and say this name is in homage of Large Marge the trucker from Pee Wee's big adventure. Good Luck proving or disproving this but that would be so cool if true.
Looks lovely, but gives me flashbacks to a disappointing Christmas long ago, and finding out that toy Magnus was a weird albino Optimus Prime. I'll stick with the XTB version, because that's how he SHOULD have been.
Margh is the sound my wallet made when I paid for this guy...
Yes we know. we all heard it when we ordered ours.
crazy, same sound i’m making laughing.

Hum. Keeping my TT UM right where he is
Great video man. This is Bryan Weatherhead BTW. lol
Thanks for telling me, I always have trouble figuring it out 😂
Damn man FansToys is slippin. First Ethereaon now this, SMH.
XTB still looks better im waiting and hoping one day Takara does a new one
Please use all your influence on Bobby Skullface to ask Fanstoys to do a Rodimus Prime (people say Bobby is the CEO 😅😁)
😂
Owch, that alt mode isn’t great. Glad i went with the X-transbots despite its transformation. Both modes look great on it
Nice. Definitely getting one
I feel like the heel is a result of designing parts on a computer
25:07 that's the closest thing EVER to a fans toys Optimus prime
Wow, that monstrosity made XTB version look simple and intuitive and we didnt even get to see the transformation into the truck, only half the "Prime", a never buy from me
Transformation was a separate 30 min video
I feel like FT got the chest too small. They went the opposite way Hasbro did when they made it too large. Honestly I think XT looks better overall. Otherwise usually FT figures look great posing but are terrible to transform. I have a few but rarely transform them. I’ll stick with my simpler more-fun SS 86 Ultra Magnus for now. I just wish Takara would come out with a fine-tuned +version for MP-22
Margh looks a bit blocky- definitely XTB nailed the sculpt better.
What ? He's literally thinner and less blocky than xctransbots in every way. Put your bifocals on.
@@ChristopherGreen-wf8qc Its more squared overall, block like and less proportioned is what I meant. Just my opinion.
This is gonna be a very controversial VS
@@TMReviewsLooking forward to the video.
Should do a vote before the comparison video
I’m shocked XTB’s looks closer to the anime than FT’s … I’m still torn . I think that inner robot has lots to do with it being a little off
Didn't see anyone comment on this. You didn't transform the core robot crotch correctly. You need to put it back to the original position you found it when unboxing. It will shorten him a bit, hide the hip joints, and it should help balancing him better.
if you put it in the position it came in the box it will for certain be wrong, it doesn't sit flat in that configuration
It's crazy that the core bot is as thin as paper and somehow he is backheavy lol.
It's not thin, very heavy and solid
Fake grill, and it looks like a nightmare to transform...
I'm talking about the core bot mainly btw
is it pronounced marje or marg?
It looks beautiful for sure, and I'm sure the build and finish quality is high up there, but I've never liked the white prime gimmick and prefer toon accuracy, and for those reasons I'm very happy to stick with my 2024 reissue of xtb magnus with the improved shoulders(At least my copy's shoulders are perfect). I love the all in one style transformation, just like in the cartoon, he's one kf the figures I enjoy flipping back and forth the most. I am really looking forward to how FT does their optimus however to possibly replace my te01
This looks really cool and all, but I have to be honest, it kind of makes me mad how many cool toys you have!
And yes- Margs full truck mode looks kibbly and a bit ugly. XTB wins in truck mode- though my xtb has a stiff wheel too and the crotch flap is unnecessarily fragile given its not central transformation- thats odd.Margh looks nice in full armoured mode though.
저는 g1설정과 일치하는 엑스트랜스봇에 한표 주고 싶네요.
My favorite figure apart from Jazz.
13:40 its a sausage party without Arcee lol
The car carrier trailer looks awful. Other than the heel issue, which is bizarre, it looks beautiful in combined robot mode.
I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order. 😬
Na,...this was too much just to try to get a "bot in armor" gimmick to work.
I know it is a Chinese company but I am going to reach way out of nowhere and say this name is in homage of Large Marge the trucker from Pee Wee's big adventure. Good Luck proving or disproving this but that would be so cool if true.
You were also even more blatantly missing Arcee.
Love it looks great but that core robot is a pass for me personally when it becomes Optimus prime, sees so very over complicated
That trailer is ugly af but the rest is great.
The alt mode is AWFUL and the white prime doesn't even stand for 250!?!? Easiest pass ever!! Ft's employees need to get out the comments
Easy skip for me
Looks lovely, but gives me flashbacks to a disappointing Christmas long ago, and finding out that toy Magnus was a weird albino Optimus Prime.
I'll stick with the XTB version, because that's how he SHOULD have been.
💙🤍❤️
oh shit this is an MP44 clone with armor not a single unit like the Xtrans version.
It's not really like MP44, different design, materials and transformation
