My band opened up for Yngwie back in 87 . We never really achieved major success .At the time of Yngwies first album . I became as a guitar player more interested in the harmonic minors and diminished . Which Yngwie lives in . My bandmate would later go into for a short stint . Become the bass player for Iced Earth . I grew up in the era of the emerging metal of the early 80 s . No internet ,no tabs ,. To have seen Yngwie in concert back in those days . Was mesmerizing

Yngwie's first 3 albums are absolute classics, with "Marching Out" being the best of them.

Many haters just hate, he´s bigger than life and flowers growing taller than others are to be cut off - i think he is partially vindicated today by new generations discovering him - always liked his stuff, now i like him more and more, especially after his latest interviwe and his Coffee Talk talks w Steve Vai & Zakk Wylde

Yngwie gets too much crap, but he is excellent. Joe Lynn Turner vocals on this song are on point

This was the first thing he recorded after being partially paralyzed in a car accident. Perspective is everything and while not a lot of people are a fan of Yngwie the person, the guy's a beast on guitar.

imo, his first album is his best, not a bad song on it, great vocalist, all songs are masterpieces, killer playing, and compositions

I was either a sophomore or a junior in high school when "No parole from rock and roll " by Alcatrazz came out and every guitarist I knew was absolutely blown away!!! I can't stress this enough, the minute Yngwie came on the scene, everything changed! I played guitar and my inspirations, at the time, were Steve Morse, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Frank Zappa and his new guitarist Steve Vai. I was also heavily into Jazz guitarists like Alan Holdsworth, AL Dimeola and Bill Connors... I wasn't a huge Eddy VanHalen guy nor Jimmi Page but appreciated them. But Yngwie moved the needle!!!!! While you can hear Uli and Blackmore's influence in Yngwie's playing, he immediately became legendary, a true guitar influencer! I knew photographers that would say he was very "snooty" even a down right a$$hole but keep in mind he was 18-19 years old when he was in Alcatrazz and EVERY music publication was calling him a guitar God... Steve Vai was talking about how Yngwie changed and grew as a person since back in the day and you can now hear the humility when he is interviewed as apposed to the tone he had when he was, really, barely an adult! Mike Varney spotlited him, basically calling him the next great guitar sensation and that was prior to Steeler which Varney was instrumental in putting Yngwie in that band. Lastly, I was under the impression that Yngwie wanted to work with Dio but Dio refused... Turner was brought in to help Yngwie with more commercial, main stream success and it did exactly that. He went from being an opening act to headlining in many places.

Big big ego. Hopefully he's. Been brought back to earth some with age. Egos we're a big thing in the 80's still love him 💕

Eclipse and Fire and Ice are the best albums.

Fun review guys! Dustin, when Joe Lynn Turner first joined Rainbow, I wasn’t a fan. Different style than Ronnie or Graham, but his voice quickly grew on me and I became a big fan.

I'm not a Turner fan, definitely. His lower register works for ballads, in my opinion.
You can compare how other singers who worked with Malmsteen did this song:

Iconic. I obsessed over Yngwie in the late 80s. There was nobody like him back then. A true guitar hero, despite his clear and present douchebaggery.

I recognized the name... and found an old vinyl "Marching Out" from 1985, but I don't think I've ever heard!
