I have multiple injuries on my spine, a traumatic brain injury, along with nerve damage throughout my body, and a messed up Achilles tendon. I want to cry every second of every day,but girls don't flock to that, so I try not to do that. This song pretty much sums up, almost exactly how I feel, most of the time. They sound like they know how true pain makes a person feel. When they don't want to end everything, but a single minute of relief, seems otherwise unobtainable. If a person doesn't get this song, they should thank God, because I would give up both testicles not to get this song. But I do, and I appreciate them for sharing their experience, and hope with me.
My Achilles' tendon is fine. Otherwise, we share a lot of injuries in common.
They can't do surgery on my spine (c3-c5) because it would paralyze and maybe kill me.
But I also can't take meds because I would habituate. So I'm stuck with Lyrica on my really bad days.
Naprosyn on my kind of bad days. And Xanax nearly every day for anxiety and to not care about the pain. (Still feel it, just keeps me from obsessing on it.)
And on the worst days, sleep as much as possible and hope that things are better when I wake, but they rarely are.
Not to be insensitive, but what the heck happened to you? Did you get hit by a bus or something?

I feel your pain man. Life changes so quick.. Im 43, was a GM of a great company but working 80-90 hour weeks for many years. June 16th..had a 3 minute seizure, woke up in ambulance, to find out I have a 4"×5" brain tumor wrapping around an artery, its massive apparently. Now overnight Im on 4 meds, horomones are 3000% off and I really secretly struggle mentally, Im just trying to survive daily bro. I have a 13 year old daughter who needs her dad. The good thing is spiritually I was not committed..but always had faith. The time has allowed spiritual closeness with God.
I was lucky to experience a real deal detailed demonic haunting when a relative passed away..( different story)...that proved to me that yes, something exists outside this realm. Anyway, stay positive, stay connected , God Bless🙏

I used to think of this song as the story of my own life but as I got older i found out that their is more to life then looking down at yourself but to looking up at every thing you can accomplish and those you love and care about.
This is an amazing song and it sheds light on our drug epidemic in our world today. I lost my best to an overdose and 7 other close friends. Its sad but it shows that addiction is a real disease. This song describes the lifestyle my friends lived and now they are gone . So as humans ,if u know someone suffering from addiction just sit and talk to them. Sometime a shoulder to lean on goes a long way. I would of had alot more friends that passed away if I didn't start doing that .

I overcame after 10+ years of use and not just pills. The thought of my son getting raised by someone else was enough to get me off the crazy train of self destruction. The road ahead of sobriety, shame and hardship was enough to make me want to end myself. But you just have to forge ahead and do your best and if you stick with it life will reward you in ways you may not even understand until years later. Best of luck to all my brothers and sisters with your recoveries! Each one of you that pulls through is inspiration for the rest who haven’t made it this far yet. Life does change and not always what you want or expect but keep on your will to want better and it will be better trust me.

I got pregnant and after falling off the wagon in the first year of pregnancy I have been sober eventually you stop thinking about it. Use the halt method. hungry-eat angry-vent lonely-connect with a friend/tired-sleep; find a distraction like a video game to pass the time and each day as it comes dont beat yourself if you have a slip even if that includes doing something reprehensible. People forget. Trust me; it's been fifteen years.
I had a drinking/drugs problem masking a depression problem, for whatever reason I started to hide at the gym. Hide from people, hide from feelings, hide from responsibility, hide from everything. At first I didn’t even do anything, just go there and watch videos or listen to music. Over time I just started to feel better. Eventually I felt strong enough to start giving up my vices 1 at a time, even was able to give up vaping. Been sober 7 months now.
