Kira LoveGod Prayer my dear. And intentionally letting God lead us. We are both very intentional on Spiritual growth firsts as individuals, also as a couple. We study the bible together. Not just a verse to keep the devil away but serious study of the Word of God. I also had to let go of a lot of my single and Married friends whose idea of marriage is not what is in the bible. We chose our friends wisely.

We married without dating too :) we talked on the phone once and knew we were going to get married after that. He flew up to propose to me 6 weeks later and we got married 4.5 months later. We’ve been together 3 years now. It all felt so ordained and God’s hand was so heavily on it that we were immersed in His peace and grace through the very quick process. I love our story and I love yours! God bless!

From our first phone conversation ending in talking about marriage to spending time with our families before an official in-person date, we didn't have a typical "dating" relationship. It was something like an old school courtship - and now we're getting married :)
Hope you enjoy this video learning about our story!

Jamie Grace I love how your story played out and I sincerely wish a lot of young ladies out there would 'not date cause they want to get married'. It makes so much sent to wait on God cause then He'd totally bring you the best!
I wish you the absolute best Jamie Grace! ❤

Jamie Grace You actually dated. Because that's how a normal Christian dating should be like. It should be intentional or with a purpose because when purpose is not defined, abuse is inevitable. The only thing is that maybe you guys didn't really date for long before you got engaged or before the courtship. The world today or in your case , america, sees dating as just something you go into if you're feeling lonely or just want a guy or sex etc. But real dating which is what true Christians should do is exactly what you did. Just that they do it for a longer period most times say a year or more just to really know the person even though a similar thing would happen in courtship. Its always good to really know the person inside out before being engaged even though you both have the intention of marriage so that when the engagement actually happens, you won't even need to court for so long cause you now already know a lot or at least 80-90% about the person. And if anything goes wrong or you find out that there are certain things you don't like about the person or you won't be able to keep up with when in marriage, it can be easily cut off at that dating stage rather than at the courting stage. I mean its better to have a called-off dating/relationship than to have a called-off courtship/engagement(where your family and friends are now already acquainted with the person). It would be less shameful as well. But I'm guessing you were really sure. Congrats!😊☺❤❤

How was your prayer time before the engagement? How were your talks with your heavenly father? That's all the father I have right now. I'm hoping to get into more of a Godly community before I start courting though. (I've already had a child & that relationship is dangerous & it wasn't marriage which made it spiritually dangerous. So ladies beware of your spirit while just dating while not regularly communing with God & his people)

Thank you for posting this! Being a young women with that same mindset, I get a lot of negative opinions about my decision. I’m pretty mature for my age, and I’m just at a point where I don’t have time for the games, and dating around for fun, I don’t want that type of life, I chose not to go through that. Most of the time people always tell me “to live,” I never understood that saying because I’m happy. Why is hooking up with multiple guys, called living? I’m sorry I don’t do the things most people around my age do, but I rather protect my heart, and save it for someone’s who’s worth it. So thanks again. I will continue to wait, and stand my ground with my decision, and I know that God will place the right guy in my life.

This is so encouraging!! It’s good to know that I am not the only women in her mid 20’s with these standards!!! Living in a world where it’s the norm to just date for fun it can feel like you’re the only one who is actually marriage minded and actually DO NOT want to date unless that man is, first and foremost a man of God and secondly actually is looking for someone to settle down with in marriage eventually...not just dating around to see where it goes. Congratulations, and you guys are in my prayers!!! 😄

Funny enough, my pastor was preaching on Valentine’s Day about how courtship was never intended to last for years and years. It is relatively meant to be a short time period, which to me makes sense because God wouldn’t ask us to abstain from certain things(sex) before marriage knowing it is a good and natural desire in marriage. Like it shouldn’t take him/her years to know if he wants you to be his wife and vice versa. That stuff is really established early on in the heart whether he/she vocalizes it or not. Anyways, GREAT VIDEO AND CONGRATULATIONS 🎉

dottiEpre I came to say this. I see people dating 5, 10 years nowadays talking about "well we aren't ready, we want to test things out and get to know each other". It really takes 5 years to get to know them? Really? BUT they see a person like Jamie and go "why would you bring all this serious stuff up on the first date." And from talking to men (real men), I've learned that they usually know very quickly whether a woman is wife material or not.
      People are something...

Xiosoranox amen!!! And those people that are together all those years wonder why there isn't a difference for them when they do get married. If you are living together and already intimate what do you expect! I cooked for my hubby one time during our 5 month courtship I told him we not married yet😂😂😂
I am so happy for Jamie Grace and pray that God will bless them with much happiness and JOY!!!

I love your story. And I love how you said that you guys courted without the pressure of feeling like you had to marry eachother. But in my situation, I have to establish very clear boundaries with my parents because of their mental health issues.
I think if I were in your situation, I would want to date/court with serious intentions but have it be a more long term thing. I want to build a relationship over time. That's just me though.

I didn't date my husband either. We served in the same congregation for 3 years going to 4 and we got engaged and now we are married! We desire to carry out God's plan in our lives. I didn't ask God for a boyfriend I asked him to bring the man he had for me as my husband in his timing and when the days were getting close my husband was fasting for me and our marriage! It was beautiful how everything happened and he did ask my mom for my hand in marriage and my mother prayed for us and blessed our to be matrimony. When God is in the situation it's beautiful! I'm glad I'm not thr only one that went through the not whole dating thing 😀. God bless you and your Husband!

@jamiegrace Me and my fiancé have a very similar story to yours. We wanted to be intentional in dating people. When I was 16 I made a list of all that I wanted in a husband and when I met Brandon, I told my sister two weeks after talking to him that I was going to marry him because he met all 32 things on my list. He also made a list after his first and only break up and as you put it, was looking for a wife. It took him three month to be sure that he was going to marry me because of his very difficult past relationship, but once we knew that we were going to get married, this was just what we felt for us was best, we dated each other for a year until he officially proposed two days before our one year anniversary.

Hey, Jamie Grace! I was listening to your music earlier and I subscribed once I found your channel. My parents tell me once I find the right guy- to take you as an example. My dad isn't a fond of dating just for fun. He wants me and my sister to date to find a husband-not a temporary bf. Thank you for telling us more about it so I know, when the time comes, to court and not date only for a bf. I watched your I Don't Date Because I wanna Get Married vid when it came out, and I took it to heart and advice. Thank you! And I actually met you for your God Girl concert years back- I think 2014 0r 15. Idk, anyway- you have changed a lot and I've listened to you ever since I heard your song with TobyMac (Hold Me), I rly think you've changed in maturity and Christianity. Thank you for being a rly great example!

For future videos, can you and Aaron talk about boundaries in a courting relationship, and what that was/is like or you?
Also, do a video where you interview Aaron, like a Q&A, and ask him questions about what type of men a christian woman should look for and just what a godly man looks like/ acts like. I would love to see that!

Well said, "have older, wiser people who have been where you are and who are where you want to be, give you wise counsel."
Thanks Jamie Grace... All the best with your wedding plans.

Yes, to being noisy! ;) Haha! I am all for courtship. I don’t want to date just for fun or because I’m bored. I want to see that someone as a potential husband, and like you said, even if he isn’t for me, he is someone else’s and his future wife deserves me to treat him right. I also like quick courtships and encouragement. If you know, you know, why linger? Aw, Jamie Grace, I’m so excited for you and Aaron! Waiting is hard but so worth it!

Dear Jamie, all that matters is that you guys are getting to know easy for an intentional purpose. You can never really know anybody but I believe God has chosen Aaron for you. I want to wish my love life or story turns out like yours; without heartbreaks but I know it's not gonna be easy just like it wasn't easy for you. I am your biggest fan and I am very happy for you. You're really a fighter and the God's girl. My biggest role model 😘. Hope you can think about coming to Nigeria soon. Nigeria needs to hear your voice, baby girl. Love ya... #Gabbie Cares

Thank you for this video. I can't seem to form the words for how your process and thoughts on dating a man who wants to be husband (but not necessarily yours) affected me. You are very wise beyond your 26-years.

Thank you Jamie for sharing this special time in your life with us. My best friend of 38 years and I celebrated 34 years of marriage last year. I am excited for you both.........."Abba Father I pray for Jamie and Aaron that Your will be carried out in and through their lives. I ask that as they continue draw closer to each other as a couple that they would also draw closer to You, as a three fold cord is not easily broken.May Your joy be their strength and may the essence of Corem Deo ( living in the presence of, under the authority of, and to the honor and glory of God.)bless their lives. Amen"

Yaaaaassssss... you did it right girl! It reminds me alot about how my husband and I courted. We both wanted more than a girlfriend or boyfriend who's here today and gone tomorrow and your story just makes my heart excited for you guys! God bless and prosper your union. What God has brought together, let no man put asunder. Amen. Be blessed!!

Wow after hearing this, I realize this is exactly like my relationship now. I always knew it felt different than any other relationship I experienced or see with other people. So hearing you talk has been so refreshing and insightful for me. I also love the way you feel and talk about your parents too

I think this is the sweetest story ever! I wish I had parents like you do, but it’s still so encouraging to see this video. I had a question too! I don’t have parents really in my life, so how would you find that example or where to find the advice when it comes to courting? If that makes sense haha! Thank you so much! 💕

I LOVE your hairstyle! Could you possibly show the right side and the back? I would really appreciate it! I knew my “now” husband from a decade earlier, but we were dating other ppl at the time. When I was single again, so was he and we went on a double date. When he walked through the door I intuitively KNEW we would spend the rest of our lives together. I knew I wanted to marry him. We had many conversations and he made me laugh. He was just so easy going and we agreed on so many different subjects / issues that it became clear we were meant for one another. He is the love, love, love of my life! We lived together for years then became engaged, then married in my dream wedding waterfront at a relative’s beautiful home. Everything was perfect. So, that’s our love story! ❤️.

'Honest open and vulnerable'... Word. Ppl please be real. Life's too short. Your best life happens when you are being most authentic. It's ok to have agenda just be honest about it.

We should share more that our relationships may not look like the typical relationship we see even in the church where dating lasts long and might not be super focused on marriage... just so we're ready to approach relationships in a new and different way.

On top of asking parental advise because they are older and a little wiser and have been there, I like to ask there advise in stuff like this because they are on the outside of it to some extent. They don't have on the rose colored glasses that I might be wearing.
Love your videos, new and old! You are honestly my role model, watching how you ride the singleness train with grace and in God's time moved on to marriage and now having a little girl. I can only pray that my walk with God in this time of singleness and waiting is as much a light as yours.

Absolutely beautiful.... thank you so much for being so transparent and for sharing your walk with everyone. You have a lot in common with our Jenevieve and Tommy. They, too, included their families in the beginning of their relationship. We felt like "family" almost right away and it just felt "right". So I get it.... and could not be more happy for you and Aaron (who is a sweetheart by the way!!!) Love you. P.S. Yes!!! Let's get some Aaron on here too. He's the best!

Courtship I understand it as guarding their heart and being really good friends and letting everything in the open for family to know and not dating just for getting something out of it. Intention.

Jamie, I am leaving a comment to encourage you.. I also did not date my husband in fact he was my best friend for about 4 to 5 years and then we became husband and wife. This year is our 10th year anniversary I looking forward to even more years with my best friend. My advice is to keep God first (constantly) To pray with each other . Remember being a wife you are a helpmate . Being submissive does not mean you are a Slave.. Humbleness is not a form of weakness. Let God( not this world) leads you ... Congratulations

That gives me a lot of hope too,, i always viewed long distance relationships to be difficult because of the distance but i know deep inside that love can traverse ANYTHING. What would be an idea or helpful if the other person is from another country?
