The fleet museum has a great gift shop where you can buy a small bag of genuine Starfleet rock chippings from the inside of the consoles of various exhibit ships.

It's great to see that the 1701-A is still intact after more than a century. She fared much better here than in William Shatner's Ashes of Eden novel. This is one bit of Alpha Canon I can definitely get behind. 🖖😎👍

Definitely agree there, the Constitution refit is my favorite starship class. Seeing the 1701-A preserved was a joy, she was a legendary ship and deserves to be saved. Seeing her restored and held in the fleet museum meant she wasn’t lost or destroyed as in the Shatner novel. Jack had it right she’s definitely my favorite too.

That actually doesnt make it canon officially, as only the model or design was canon... IE it could have been an aborted concept, hence why the actual starship was included in Season 3!

So glad you are feeling better. I really like this episode. Makes me wish we really had the fleet museum that we could go and visit in person. My favorite is the Enterprise Refit. She is a beautiful ship and a visually stunning update to the Constitution class vessels. I remember sitting in the movie theater for the Star Trek movie as they did that virtual walk around while she was in the space dock. We were all cheering. We had waited so long. It was just awesome!
Thanks so very much for posting this.

I don't think the Enterprise A was ever the flagship, when Kirk first got it it was a lemon of a Starship with nothing but problems that Scotty managed to turn into a gem over the few years it served.

Good to hear that the NX-Refit is now cannon. IIRC the Enterprise show runners stated that we would have seen the Refit if we had the full seven season run. An entire season dedicated to the Earth-Romulan war would have been great.
Wouldn't mind seeing a Refit Miranda as part of the Museum. Hopefully Starfleet didn't burn through all of them during the Dominion War.

LOVE the Starships in the Fleet Museum, mostly the legendary USS Enterprise 1701-A and of course the Constellation class that's there.
Now some years ago as soon as it became available did a "Tri-Cannon" thing in ST:O because I love the look of her and finding all the background information that I could took the USS Stargazer out of the museum and has been my starship ever since, until they bring back exploration or the Enterprise F ship interiors into the game.
So I'm looking forward to Part 2 xxx

I saw it pointed out that Picard mentions a Constitution I being in the fleet museum all the back in TNG 'Relics', which if this was an intentional inclusion by the PIC S3 writers, is a masterful piece of knowing the source material. The NX-01 refit is a piece of canon-isation that I was very glad for.

While, this was enjoyable. There is some wrong information. The Coni-refit. It cannot go past warp 9.999 since ships in the 24'25 century still cannot get past the warp 10 barrier. There is a line in Voyager that confirms this, when Tom tries to break the warp 10; Janeway and crew says something along the lines of "Tom is the very first person to break warp 10. Granted that episode is the only in Star Trek history where there were calls to decannonize it.

Warp Factor 12? I thought the Constitution Class Refit had a max speed of Warp 8.1, max emergency speed of Warp 9.Something? I think I am taking that Warp 12 with a little grain of Stardust.

Is there an actual canon explanation for how a vertical (or perpendicular to a ship's gravity plating, at any rate) warp core is functionally better than a prone one? I don't doubt it's easier to maintain and eject if necessary, but in just operating, how? Considering how easy it would be to exclude a gravity well around the core and the warp conduits.

Great vid but whether many fans like it or not the sizes of some of these ships have been retconed as official canon. The Connie is now 450ish meters. I imagine the refit would be 475-500 meters. Personally I think they needed a size, not cosmetic, upgrade anyway. Sets never really fit, especially the massive TMP hangar bay. Doug Drexler himself felt the tos Connie was too small to truly make the sets fit and I believe he pegged the ship over 400m to make everything fit properly.
It doesn’t really make sense that the nx refit was nearly the same size as the Connie anyway. If you look at the starship museum fx, the E -A is pretty clearly upscaled next to the titan and ultimately the D.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the SNW E is ugly as F, but the size makes a whole lot of sense and at the time when Matt Jeffries designed the E the largest ships were the Iowa class Battleships and Carriers. 50 years later (besides the retired Big E) they are making far more massive ships at sea.

Since we see a tos constitution, does that mean that discovery isn't canon, since its depiction of a Connie was different?

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  Рік тому +2

No not at all... DSC is canon, akways has been, always will be, so accept that! And there is plenty of time for DSC Connie to become TOS Connie, so it really doesn't affect canon at all!

Your comment has been deleted for disrespecting channel rules and the community here by referring to DSC incorrectly, using a derogatory term. Do not do it again, or you will be banned. Try displaying some of the basic fundamentals of the show you claim to cherish like respect for others!
As to the rest of the comment, it doesnt matter what you or I think... DSC is canon, and in the same timeline as TOS, TNG etc... So both are accurate... Point blank, the end!

@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics so then I can only conclude that there were no memorable star trek: discovery era vessels, as depicted by the star trek: picard showrunners. Maybe you can hold to those values you espouse by answering the critique instead of attacking the messenger. Unsubbed.

Dude, you're not that important... Declaring your "unsub" like you're the Queen of UA-cam just proves what I've already said above, that you do not embody the basic fundamentals of the show you "cherish" so much! No one will shed a single tear for your loss, and the channel will go on! And no one attacked you, you just dont like the answers and are projecting your nonsense to make you feel better. Your deleted comment broke channel rules and was argumentative and disrespectful, so dont blame me for calling you out on that!
As for what vessels are important from the DSC Era, well first, there's PLENTY of room inside! Second, there's also a ground museum as seen in Lower Decks. And whether a ship from that Era is included or not, doesnt change that DSC is canon, and in the same timeline as TOS, TNG etc... So again, whether you like it or not, you need to accept it! CYA!
