I am reading "War and Peace" by Tolstoy and this song is referenced as emanating from the clavichord of a Napoleonic war era Russian household. So incredible to hear and be transported to another century in imagination! Truly a gifted pianist.
Cada vez que ouço esta obra de Dussek a par das sonatas opus 31 de Beethoven, mais me maravilho com a Invocation. Ah, grande Jan! Que alegria me vens trazendo à alma!
This is a terrific sonata - its opening movement really should be considered one of the best of the period. There's something really arresting about its pompous hunting calls, repurposed as forceful swells. I do wish this player had a little more fire behind their playing, though. Dussek needs a hard (but not harsh) edge, in the same way that Brahms needs a weightiness and Mozart needs a developed sense of melody.

Well, he actually wrote a few more than that, but as far as the sonatas which have been assigned numbers - you're close, there are 29. This one is number 28. Though I'm not sure if the numbers were original or if Musica Bohemica Antiqua added them. The latter seems more likely.
Friend, did the Dussek great grandson killed your mom or something? Your personal hate is not healthy and makes no sense. If you don't want to listen that's ok but let people express what they want, you won't correct anyone's feelings or their musical taste.

Same! I am also a pianist and I did not know this composer...
I only recently got into learning his music. Dussek was definitely one of the best. His keyboard concertos are brilliant.

I can't believe this sonata was written before 1830. Absolutely stunning!
the form is incoherent, not "stunning"
@@Whatismusic123 Why do you say the form is "incoherent"? Could you elaborate?
@@stephanjwilliams analyze it for yourself and honestly just take one listen, it doesn't take a master to spot this music's immense flaws.

Pure and Transcendental Beauty! Bravo 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 ❤!
"Invocation" di chi, di se stesso? Dussek, se ci sei batti un colpo! (Scherzo, è un bellissimo pezzo e lo sto ascoltando sino alla fine)

Anyone else here from War and Peace?
Me!
Oh my goodness! Yes!

Dussek wrote 28 sonatas??

There are actually 31 complete sonatas and he died while writing his 32nd
The edition I found on imslp includes whatever he had written for the 32nd sonata
What a pretentious description. You cannot tell a man's life from their music, you're just deluding yourself.
You must a general snob.

@@Lucacarrara3173 I'm criticising the creator of this channel, not dussek, bozo.
