- In this video I make a TV Stand for my living room (1500mm x 800mm x 400mm).
I decided to try alder for this project. This is relatively cheap stuff, which I got from the local sawmill.
I used transparent varnish to preserve the natural look.
I'm happy with the outcome.

I always loved alder. My home is still being worked on from Hurricane Harvey flood. We decided to do a whole renovation. Our complete master bedroom furniture is all alder from Pennsylvania House. All our cabinetry is being custom built right now and all knotty alder.
Wonder why people disliked this DIY.. its awesome!

My parents are really good with carpentry. They both focus on making different things and definitely don't make a living from it, but I've watched them for a good part of my childhood. My mom really like working with old cypress. All that to say, good job! I really enjoy watching everything come together in a project like this!

Nice using a few simple tools, Clever use of laminate wood for the draw bottoms and back, I know a guy who makes cabinets and just uses luan at about 11 bucks a 4x8 sheet lot cheaper than using hardboard or plywood. But the Luan flooring is a clever idea. Its in the back who's going to notice or care or even know?
You could also hang that off a wall with a set of french cleats inset in the back, would make it look like it's floating and help keep the floor under it clean. you could also hide the wires in the cavity the french cleats make if its 4/4 thick. something that big I think I'd do one at the top and one by the bottom.

Did you know, saw dirt is good for your garden. it mixes with existing soil will turn soil loose and soft. plant love it.

Well, this has been very interesting and a bit of discovery in design for me. In the last video of yours I saw for the first time your "Full Extension all Wood Draw" and I am in the process of building a work bench all double mortis and Tennon for a friend of mine and I really like your method of recessing the full body of the draw glide into the side of the draw itself and your attachment of the draw front doweled into the draw sides. I also like the design of the brute build of your draw fronts and doors. No girly ins and outs like a set of Kitchen cabinets. I am going to use this design of yours on my friends work bench. I like the fact that these look like a mans work bench not some girly kitchen cabinet play bench. BRAVO. your dog look really good too.
