Honestly, calling this lens a "kit lens" is an insult to it even though it technically is a kit lens. I think it's so good I haven't bothered buying any other lens for my Fuji system yet.
I did an "OnlyLens" review that I started when testing out different lenses and this kit lens was one of my favourite kit lenses ever! Such a beast of a lens honestly!

Fuji 18-55 kit lens is really good lens, underrated this i was told , but results on the XH2 were great , I shot work for a International publication on Bees and Bee Keepers , the Editor of the mag words were stunning and colours were really beautiful .
Thanks for the video Mitch! It is a great reminder to focus on compositions, and rely less on the shallow depth of field wide aperture lenses provide in eliminating elements.
Would be cool if you tested this lens in a portrait photoshoot!

Nice video. I picked up a used XT30ii as an everyday camera, which came with this lens. I'm really enjoying the small size, and flexibility. It's a shame it goes from 2.8 so quickly though.
Makes me wanna go out and use this lens!
great Video. Way too much people just shit on kit lenses online, giving beginners a really bad feeling and basically starting GAS and a unhealthy relationship to gear in photography because its clear they don't get good photos using a "shit" lens.
But the Truth is Kit lenses are great for beginner. They have a good range and allow them to try out what they like and learn about the basics.

Fugi have better Kit Lenses compare to other brands eg: 3.5-5.6 compare to Fugi's 2.8-4.
That's a whole stop of extra light with Fugi's Kit lens compare to other brands.
Agreed! Fuji-film cameras don’t seem to me as comparable products.
They are much more made to deliver a feeling/vibe right out of the camera. While others have a much more industrial look. Both have their pros and cons.

You didn't need the X-T5. The X-T1 would have been just fine. Really more than you needed.
