Planet Rock must been pleased after this was recorded in their studio. This was made at the same time Planet Rock was interviewing them. Floor said in one other interview that they had about 15 minutes to get ready, before this epic acustic recording was made. Not sure who’s idea was to make it acustic, but we fans are very grateful 🙂
This was the only live performance from the album "Human :||: Nature" (2020), performed right at the beginning of the lockdown. Maybe that's why it's so important to me, because it was that breath of oxygen I needed then so I wouldn't suffocate. A very complex vocal line (and at the same time very difficult to interpret, as several vocal experts have explained to us in the meantime). Following the success of this performance, Floor and Troy sang this acoustic version several times on the concert stages during the 2022 - 2023 tour, postponed by 2 years.
"She has babies". Yep, and now the line "now there's one who came from me" is sung as "now there's two who came from me" in all performances of this song since Lucy was born.
No autotune, no elaborated technology, only Troy accompanying Floor with an acoustic guitar and his beautiful soft voice during the refrain: This shows the real abilities of a singer. I just love Floor's powerful warm voice; it has so much emotions, depth and richness in it. And I love your great reaction, Red. Thank you for this. You are right: It is not only the great music of Nightwish but also the feeling that they really mean what they are singing about and that they try to live it. I like lyrics I have to reflect on.
Empathy, we really need more of this. When you say `how are you`` usually it`s just a greeting. but say How`s the Heart like wow that is powerful !! Human Nature is full of emotion`s that people should take to heart and be better people.
This song is so 100% Nightwish. When Tuomas wrote it... the deep thoughts about why we rarely asks and really means it 'how are you really'. How he imagined Floor being able to express this caring feelings - while he wrote it.. And Floor understanding exactly how Tuomas wanted us to look inside ourselves - and Floor realizing that the second verse, were about her and Hannes. Her ability to express this and make about others as well. Only Nightwish are able to do this song in so many different versions without ever loosing the deeper thoughts.. (the acoustic versions, the full blown versions and the versions in between where Troy and Floor opens, and the others joins in at the end, to enhance the experience. This is a legendary Nightwish song. Phenomenal and deep reaction from you 👍🤘
Judging by how far away Floor is from the mic when she really lays into the belting at the end, her voice must be extremely loud in that little studio.
❤ Some of the lyrics are written especially for Floor! Unfortunately her older daughter does'nt want lullabies anymore🤯😂 I also ADORE the stripped down version of Decades in the sun by Nightwish ua-cam.com/video/i2pPyhNMtdE/v-deo.htmlsi=ukS2CQoMZkn1gruk or Floor solo
Speaking of lullabies, Floor has a video on TikTok (and UA-cam Shorts as well, I think) of her singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It's so wholesome and cute ^_^
Great reaction! One of the fantastic songs from the Human Nature album. It is Tuomas's ode to human empathy. It encourages us to ask others how they are doing and truly mean it. Second verse is a nod to Floor and her family by Tuomas. We met where the cliff greets the sea Shared a story, took the leap Floor meeting and marrying Hannes Rose up rooted, hid a note You know where You've been there Floor and Hannes moving to Sweden Now there's one who came from me A child of light, another tale. Floor and Hannes adding Freya to their family. During the later legs of the Human Nature tour after Floor announced she was pregnant, she would change the lyrics to Now there's two who came from me while holding her belly. Super sweet!
Wow. Goosebumps from scalp to toenails at that ending. Sometimes I want to rock out with a wall of sound, and sometimes I want to just soak in a beautiful, simple arrangement like this one.
Gorgeous, isn’t it??? I think the acoustic version is my favorite. The two moments I love most in this performance are: 1. Floor begins the massive belt of the final chorus, and leans back a good extra foot. I’m quite certain she can blow out a mic. 2. Troy’s grin and shaking his head, at the end. You just KNOW he’s thinking “HOLY SHIT, GIRL!!!”
I think you will also like "Harvest"; "Procession" and "Our Decades In The Sun". These three songs are the calm Nightwish songs. And Floor sang this live while she was pregnant with Lucy.
Hey Red, What a Beautiful review again by you, Floor Jansen for me, is with out any doubt, the most versatile Female Vocalist around to day, in my opinion. Thank You Red.
The fans loved this arrangement. I think this is why Nightwish decided to use it in 1 of the virtual concerts and some of the tour shows. I saw them do the acoustic version live in Montreal in May 2022, with the band gently joining in near the end.
People used to call Rush's music "a thinking man's rock music". Nightwish is definitely "a thinking man's metal music" or, in your case, "a thinking woman's metal music". :-)
One of the most precious Recordings for me of the H/N Album. An lone Life Video, before Shutdown did come. Often listened and still listen to it. Great it vibe with you on same Ways. Stay healthy!
Thanks ofr sharing your reaction to a song that explores the themes of compassion, empathy, and finding solace in the midst of suffering. The song highlights the importance of connection and reaching out to others, even in times of personal struggle. P.S. This part of the lyrics tells you how Floor met her husband & had her 1st child with him: "We met where the cliff greets the sea Shared a story, took the leap Rose up rooted, hid a note You know where You`ve been there Now there`s one who came from me A child of light, another tale Dear one". P.S.S. I'm also a big fan of RUSH & have their entire discography.
Beautiful song/performance, thanks for the reaction! You mentioned you love when an artist changes things up...may I suggest Rush, Resist from the R30 tour?
I thought you would love this one. 😊 The power in her voice is incredible. No wonder she is so far from the mic! 😂 You are so right about the compassion, you see so many IG clips or you tube shorts labelled 'amazing..." showing someone helping someone or doing something nice and you think, shouldn't that be the normal way to behave?
That was a lovely reaction, as warm and welcoming as this song itself. For me, it is always the message behind the music that pulls me in, and in again. You don't get tired of a Nightwish song, because there is always more to discover, with each listen. They all seem like such lovely people, like someone you would like to live next door to. I often make the comment that they have no musical ego, but sing for the song. I think that what ego they have, as human beings, is a steady, calm and joyous ego, and a soul that wishes good for all around them.
I heard them do this live in Wembley Arena a couple of years ago, just after Floor had been through her cancer treatment, it was otherworldly live. May i request a couple of reactions to Sabaton (there is a floor link) Firstly En Livstid I krig live in Gothenberg (put the subtitles on as it's in Swedish) and 1916 (motorhead cover) the official music video, let it play to the end
I see that you have done a lot of Nightwish reactions but none with Tarya. I would enjoy seeing you react to Phantom of the Opera or The Siren. Cheers!
Doesn't Floor and Troy sound so good together. They also done acoustic Nemo. Tuomas adding in the child bit for Floor was very kind. How's the Heart video version is more heavy both versions are great yet different. The lyrics are great.
A lot of people don't realize or maybe they just don't mention it, but the vocal melody on this song is INSANELY difficult to sing. Floor makes it sound and look effortless, ...... sitting down no less...... most singers to even "attempt" this song would need to be standing, anchoring, to engage their breathing apparatus, and she just sits there with her incredible posture like its nothing. The vocal melody is not typical of most any genre, and is full of really quick slides, and odd interval jumps, with constant changes in dynamic push, and vocal placement, and she is in PERFECT tune! No pitch correction here, ..... I mean it's truly an insane vocal performance, so far above most peoples ability level that i don't think it really registers unless someone is a vocalist or a coach. Floor is truly a once in a lifetime singer, and i for one am glad i have lived in her time. Oh and how bout Troy?! What a musician, multi instrumentalist and vocalist himself!
Don't know if you've tried any with Annette as lead singer as yet. Honestly, she wasn't the best fit for Nightwish, and they bringing in Floor was the best thing that ever happened to the band. However, Annette is a good singer, and to sample the best tune she did with them, check out "Meadows of Heaven", one with on screen lyrics is best. Really beautiful song. ua-cam.com/video/vxsjv6LtRz0/v-deo.html

And Troy fell down the hotel stairs just before. 😅
This was the only live performance from the album "Human :||: Nature" (2020), performed right at the beginning of the lockdown. "She has babies". Yep, and now the line "now there's one who came from me" is sung as "now there's two who came from me" in all performances of this song since Lucy was born.
I have noticed Floor puts her hand on her tummy when singing that line.
Think one of the most things Floor can teach everyone is, be yourself, do what you want, respect every other person and if you fall, stand up again.
Floor doin' Floor things. Troy showin' his stuff. He's been a huge addition to Nightwish. The studio version of How's The Heart" is excellent also.
Troy's guitar is a Fylde Oberon - hand-made in England. Fylde is favored by a range of guitarists, from Ritchie Blackmore to Nancy Wilson.
THE ONE AND ONLY... GODDESS FLOOR!!!
AND TROY... AMAZING IN THE GUITAR
Empathy, we really need more of this. When you say `how are you`` usually it`s just a greeting. but say How`s the Heart like wow that is powerful !! Human Nature is full of emotion`s that people should take to heart and be better people.
I could see this sung in an ale tavern, accompanied by a lute and maybe a flute
Troy is now probably deaf in his left ear after Floor belted those lyrics!🤘🎸
And smiling with relieve as his right ear is still functioning.😀
So I believe Tuomas wrote this song for Floor and her husband to celebrate the birth of their first baby girl. ‘Now there’s one who came from me.”
Yes I heard this as well..
I would say that the song is about empathy and not to Floor. But there are a line in the lyrics which is for Floor.
The song is about empathy but the second verse is referencing Floor and her husband and daughter specifically.
Tuomas wrote this song about empathy. Just taking the time to ask how someone is feeling and are they ok. Tuomas has a very kind and gentle soul.
Beautifully said, my friend. Nightwish are good people, and they strive to bring that out in others.
This song is so 100% Nightwish. When Tuomas wrote it... the deep thoughts about why we rarely asks and really means it 'how are you really'. How he imagined Floor being able to express this caring feelings - while he wrote it..

Hey neighbor. This is such an amazing performance. They also did Nemo in this session. You might want to check that one out also.
Judging by how far away Floor is from the mic when she really lays into the belting at the end, her voice must be extremely loud in that little studio.
You have found wise and true words. But you don't just say it the way many others do, but it's also your honest conviction. Thank you for that.
my favorite part of this is the very last second... watch Troy closely as Floor finishes off this masterpiece. He's f'ing giddy!
❤ Some of the lyrics are written especially for Floor! Unfortunately her older daughter does'nt want lullabies anymore🤯😂
I also ADORE the stripped down version of Decades in the sun by Nightwish ua-cam.com/video/i2pPyhNMtdE/v-deo.htmlsi=ukS2CQoMZkn1gruk or Floor solo

Fenomenal !!!
How amazing!! no matter how much you hear, still love your wonder!! the spakle in your eyes! we all have it!
Acoustic Floor turned to 11!
The definition of spine tingling brilliance 🤘
People used to call Rush's music "a thinking man's rock music". Nightwish is definitely "a thinking man's metal music" or, in your case, "a thinking woman's metal music". :-)
That was very well said, words to live by. This IS a very special song, and it captures both sadness and hope at the same time.
Hello Red, greetings from UK
I have been waiting for you to get around to this one 🥰
I wonder how many mainstream singers could do this song justice?
I knew way back when that you would like this one, I remember
One of the most precious Recordings for me of the H/N Album. An lone Life Video, before Shutdown did come. Often listened and still listen to it. Great it vibe with you on same Ways.

Fantastic reaction, I knew You like it. For me this song this is the best version.
Beautiful, beautiful reaction. There were times when I almost felt intrusive ... like I should walk away and let you listen in peace.
SO good and love ya Red #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #29K #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #bestbadjokes

There is a video on youtube Floor is singing 3 lullabies in 3 languages.
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 Great great job Red
We been Red neighbour sunshined thanks Beatiful ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks ❤❤❤
I like the lights on the wall and the plant. Very relaxing background.
Troy is now deaf in his left ear 😂 and the smile at the end says it all 😊
Troy's guitar is a Fylde, modified to his specs.
Exclusive❤
