This looks great, Anthony! For those of us with no tools or a space to even build stuff like this (rental apartments), it's nice to know we have an option that is prebuilt. I've seen tons of the DIY videos and your options tick all the right boxes. Very cool!
Just picked mine up yesterday ❤ love love love it 🎉 thanks SO much for the great communication, professionalism, and detailed attention to your craft 🎉 having a ton of fun 🤩 and had the best night's sleep last night all stretched out on those long platforms 🐾 Dog Approved 🐾
Can't leave a comment on Etsy. I don't know why. Anyways, long overdue review on this platform. Very sturdy, drawers are very good. You can take out the separators if not needed which is cool. It is solidly attached to the vehicle so it doesn't rattle around. I tried it in the Sierras several times on little offroad trails and it follows the ups and downs of the car no problem. It's exactly what I expected it to be. Anthony is responsive an d can make a few little custom changes for you if needed. The only advice i could give to someone who wants one for a Forester is to really think about the headspace. I might of underestimated my 8.5" drawers. I feel a little too close to the ceiling when adding mattress etc. If I were to go back in the past, I would probably make it 7.5" at the expense of drawer depth. Anyways very good design! Highly recommend!
I think I'm going to do this! Nice to know that you're in Chico where I went to college that far of a drive for me. Cheaper than a roof-top tent that's going to be difficult for me to remove as a single person
I like it b/c nobody thinks I've got stuff to steal - just another SUV. Theives target money and rooftop tents scream "something to steal here" to the world.
Great question. The trunk frame is about 30”long by 38” wide, the bed extension is about 27” long, and the headrest is 17” long. For a total bed of 38” wide by 6’1” long 👍🏼
I'd have to measure first, but would only need half of the setup. Probably the table side. Not a Subaru but a 98 Ford Explorer. My back seat has a 2/3 - 1/3 split, would use the 2/3 side. Do you sell just one side? Would have to ship to Wisconsin.
this looks awesome only had two things I was worried about/would recommend 1. possibly find a way to not have the cord rubbing up on the car seats (could cause damage) and 2. on the 4runner find a way to have it fitted over wheel wells so you could fit a full size mattress in it.
Nice camper conversion, shame your across the pond as It would have been nice to have one for my 2016 outback. I'm currently researching the best camper build for mine.
Just to clarify, you just need one singular drawer without the framed platform and drawer slides? Shipping wouldn’t be too much for that, maybe $40 or so. I’d have to check with UPS
@@compasscamper5730 It would be for a single drawer slides that is around 55-56" long and 20- 22" wide and 14" height :) It's for my Jeep Gladiator. The other half of the truck bed has a large fridge/kitchen slide already. What's your guess on the shipping for that?
@@compasscamper5730 Didn't see your reply til now. I will be removing my rack setup and install an alucab canopy hopefully by this weekend or next. Will be taking measurements and shoot you an email.
It's under the platform beneath the stock floor liner, he talks about it and what to do to access the spare with the unit installed. However, Subi only made this area for a donut so if you want a full-size spare, do what the rest of us do and get a rear bumper tire carrier or throw it on top of the rack into a roof basket.
that's probably not something you ask a craftsman trying to sell you his/her product. I think a few viewers missed the fact that these are for sale. He's not showing you what to do for a DIY project, he's showing you all of the features of his product. I wouldn't ask a portrait painter how much the cost for canvas and paints so I could do it myself, but that's just me.
My build out is a similar height. It is more difficult to get in and out with less headroom, but it doesn't make a different when it comes to actually sleeping. There isn't ever enough room to use the space for anything other than sleeping so I think it is worth it.

A pleasure creating and installing your Kit! Thanks and I hope it serves you and your dog well on your travels!
Very nice work. You have obviously put a lot of thought into the design. This is the only custom kit I’ve seen that I’d consider buying. Love it.
great to see a build where you can still use the read passenger seats when needed!

Wow! Very well done. Definitely need one for my 2019 outback.
I ordered mine with the star-burst pattern
Looks good to me. And affordable. How long is the bed frame made for a 2020 Rav 4? And how much head room when it is in place. in a Rav.

Total headroom above the camper is roughly 27” depending on where you measure exactly

AWESOME" on my bucket list for sure! NICE JOB! newsub from Idaho
I live in Canada , I know you said you ship in the USA would you consider selling plans
It's worth driving down. Spend the winter down here camping?

Can you make the drawers lockable?

Thank you! I do offer freight shipping if that interests you
Wish you were closer. I just need one drawer. Wonder how much shipping cost would be for that to SoCal.

Do you have a video for the 4 runner model?
how do you access the spare ?
You just detach those 4 turnbuckles, and slide the trunk frame over your back seats, then you access that spare tire area
Where is the spare tire?

Cost to build this setup 👍

There is a link to his website in the description above, and that has the prices for the kits. Very reasonable, in my opinion.
I would never ever put a raised bed in such a small car 'sorry but theirs just nothing like bad head room
I’d rather have poor head room than sleep on a surface that isn’t flat.
