Hakotora: The Hakosuka Skyline Faced Sunny Truck - 09Racing

- I've been wanting to show a Nissan/Datsun Sunny ute for some time but just couldn't find one with all the right 'Wasabi' qualities. Seeing as my hands were tied, I had little choice but to show a cool one. What makes this one cool is that it features the Hakotora body kit by 09 Racing. There are 8 components to the base kit, with several other exterior and interior options.
Mini-rant: I just know someone will say it's not a truck. But that's exactly what it is in Japan, and the tora in Hakotora is even derived from the word *truck*.

QOtD: I saw a three year old Toyota 86 (they are called GT86 here) parked opposite of my civic in my neighborhood. A nicely done one with spoilers and decal sets! Apparently this lady earns enough to buy a GT86, but not enough to live in the neighborhood the GT86 owners normally live in...

WasabiCars I think I figured it out: the GT86 wasn't here during the weekend. She is probably a commuter and parks her car here because I live near the train station
just a bit of info about that holden with the mustang nose you were talking about at the end of the vid, its called a 'Folden' and it was made by members of the New Zealand radio station 'The Rock' a couple of years back. It was auctioned off and the money went to a mental health charity.

wow i really like those hakozuka ute conversions but yeah, the bonnet intakes are too evo-ish if you ask me. the rest is really amazing! i wonder if someone here would be crazy enough to get a kit and modify an old grocery lifter 620. hahaha the mighty boy is hilarious, more hilarious though was something my father told me they did in the 80's. VW beetle with rolls royce grille, all plastic of course. i saw one of those fronts a long time ago, that thing was ridicoulous.

I actually saw those VW conversions for sale in some 70's Japanese car magazines that I have. Maybe in about '74 they were booming!

Fantastic little ute, I love the sunny pickups but I simply do not fit in the cab very well. qotd, I seen a a70 supra with a commodore front end with a hilux ute tub rear end postes to some page on my FB.

What did I see? I'm not sure if this counts, but I live in the US and I recently spotted a Canadian market Nissan Micra. I was pleasantly surprised to see this as I've seen dozens of these cars on trips to Bermuda I've taken in the past.

QOTD: l don't see a lot of "facelifts", unfortunately; but I'm still kinda stuck on the RX-7 with RX-3 inspired nose work. It's just great craftsmanship.

about qotd,i actually have a full folder of these kind of swaps,i sort of collect pic like this lol...mostly bad ones tho lmao...i have way too many of this but one of these worth mention is an itasha silvia s15 with s30 gnose front and r34 skyline rear lol,pretty weird thing

Reminds me of the days I had a friend who collected turbo Buicks (Grand Nationals mostly). We'd go to meets where those cars would be and someone had done a Chevy El Camino ("Holden Ute" in Aussie talk) with a Grand National front clip and drivetrain.

Panfilo Johnson the S20 is a six cylinder engine that needed the original hakosuka front end to be extended. So probably not...

SR20 is a four cylinder, and that would fit. But the SR20 is a bit too modern for my taste...
