I have one of these amps and it's AMAZING! I have a great collection of vintage Marshalls, Fenders, and Voxs, but the Gibson is one of my absolute favorites. Beautiful sounding amp!
Hey man, I seem to remember having it set on Pentode, Hi Jack, I think I had the V and T around noon. Reverb barely cracked. I replaced the reverb pot and put new tubes in it for a buddy of mine. I used JJ EL84s and I think I put a EHX 12ax7 in PI. Been a while ago. Guitar is a Mark Jenny partscaster with Lollar Vintage T Pups and RS kit. Neck is rosewood. GREAT TELE! Thanks for the comments though! I thought it was a great sounding amp! He has a my old Spitfire now too! Lucky dog!!
@motokev No special tubes here man. A new set of JJ EL84s is all. JJ 12ax7 in v1 and EH in v2. This is a buddies that I re-tubed for him put a new logo on it and fixed his reverb pot. Nothing else really. I actually did this so he could hear it before I gave it back to him. It is a great sounding Amp! Thanks for commenting. I have a couple of Matchless amps that I am going to demo on here next!
Hey man thanks for the comment, that was the Strymon Blue Sky! It allows 2 different reverb settings. I have one set to modulation and other is called it's Shimmer which adds the harmonies you hear.
Thanks man, just wanking around after re-tubing and fixing the reverb knob for a buddy. I think is a great sounding little amp for the monies! Thanks for the complement. I should think out what I'm playing in the future though! :)
Great demo man. Beautiful. Could you tell me what settings you were using on the amp? Pentode/Triode? Tone setting? Hi/Lo jack? And maybe the guitar you were using?
