Avengers: Infinity War packed a ton of characters and storyline into a single movie, but naturally, there were quite a few things which ended up on the cutting room floor. One of them was backstory about the characters in Thanos’ insidious Black Order. Today, we’re going to be talking about Corvus Glaive, who was Thanos’ masterful general in the comic books. We’ll let you know whether or not Corvus was married to Proxima Midnight in the comics and why Glaive is so important. There’s much more to this member of the Children of Thanos than meets the eye and we’ll share some things movie fans might not know.

That is a serious formidable talent if he can slip past through the most technologically advanced country on earth in the mcu. Think about all the cameras and gates with passcodes he might have slipped past to get to vision undetected and unexpected.

Remember he is a strategist,i dont think he really killed anyone to get there as they could have cautioned shuri and stopped the mind stone procedures beforehand,maybe he has cloaking abilities too or thanos helped him teleport there using space stone ,endless possibilities.

I think that one thing that would have been great would’ve been to have a movie based on the Black Order ... that’s what I would’ve done since my recollection of the Black Order was truly lacking.

Muirnin Rose Yeah, one of my main issues with the movie was how little we got from the Black Order and who/how they have died (hurt Vision, non-Hulk Bruce, and sending Ebony Mah out of space).. I do not think they deserved a solo movie for themselves, but they could’ve put them in any of the other space based movies (Thor Ragnorok or either of the Guardians movies).
What would’ve been best was if the Disney+ streaming app was out before IW and they had a mini series on them.

How To Speed Run Having them as a solo film don’t really make sense for Marvel due to them having so many characters that need their own solo movie. It would be nice for them to have showed up in previous space based movies, but that didn’t happen. I would love if they get a mini series on the new Disney streaming app.
I loved the Children of Thanos. I am absolutely in love with Thanos. I consider myself a Child of Thanos. I really loved the whole team and idea behind why he wanted the Stones.

I'm a big fan of the Black Order and all, and Corvus Glaive is my favourite (in the comics), but gotta say it's a stretch that Corvus comes back in End Game. The Russos admitted they had to depower the Black Order down, particularly Proxima and Corvus, or else a) they overshadow Thanos and b) would be too much for the MCU versions of the heroes. Case in point, in the comics, Corvus and Proxima have fought the Hulk, Hyperion (Marvels' Superman analog), Captain Marvel, and Captain America, AT THE SAME TIME, and were actually WINNING until Proxima accidentally hit Corvus with her blacklight spear. So the MCU versions are nowhere near their comicbook power levels at all, which I think would include Corvus' immortality shtick.
Plus originally according to the concept art and presentation by one of the 3D studios Marvel hired for the Black Order, Corvus WAS going to be the de facto 'leader' of the Black Order in the MCU as well, before the Russos decided to push Ebony Maw more as the de facto 'mouthpiece' of the Order; Corvus then got pushed to the wayside and kinda has less lines than even Cull Obsidian in some ways.
If Corvus was going to be more prominent AFTER Infinity War, I feel like they would have given him more screentime to establish him over Ebony Maw. That said, of all the Order members, Corvus at least has an intact body to 'res' from compared to everyone being gibs, exploded, or frozen in deep space. So it would be a nice surprise if he does pop back up in End Game, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Carrie Oaki Corvus couldn’t cut Thanos with it in Thanos Returns comic though proving Thanos’ durability. Thanos crushed the actual blade in his hand then forced Corvus to commit suicide with a fragment lol. That just proves Thanos is durable to sub atomic weapons

All The Black order were totally watered down to make the weaker Avengers looks strong(Black widow,falcon....)Truth is Proxima would have smashed black widows head in and Corvus would have destroyed the others-but have to make Black widow look strong even though she is only a spy and so they nerfed the Children Of Thanos to achieve this
Correct me if I’m wrong, but since Corvus was killed by his own weapon, doesn’t that nullify his ability to come back? Since his Glaive reduced Vision’s power after stabbing him with it, wouldn’t it have the same effect on him? I don’t know much about the character from the comics so idk if that’s accurate or not.
No the glaive is what brings him back , so its not his actual ability. In comics he actually cant be away from his blade for too long or else he will die.

@@actionjackson6206 Actually don't believe what Arkeem says about needing to 'be near' his glaive, that is never shown in the comics at all, he just naturally holds onto it close-by (And if not him, Proxima does). Once Corvus was completely vaporized down to dust, i.e. he had no more body at all to be 'away' with. Proxima held onto his glaive, and he regenerated around it (his arms were shown gripping it as his skeleton and flesh literally regrew from nothing). If anything it shows that where his physical body is or what state it is in is inconsequential - he will respawn AT or WITH his glaive.
In Avengers: No Surrender, his powers were stolen by Rogue temporarily who 'killed' him by punching a hole into him. Corvus looked dead (amusingly Proxima had to say with a caveat that her 'husband MAY be dead again') but at the end of the event, after Rogue relinquishes his power off-screen he's back to being 100% fine again.
Note that in No Surrender, there was a hint to how him and the glaive are linked in that his glaive was reforged and he had visible glowing cracks all over him that were not part of his design before.
However in the new Black Order miniseries, he's back to his default design with no more cracks. It could be the Grandmaster healed him even further back to normal.
None of this will happen. The film would have did a better job of demonstrating Corvus Glaive weapon's strength. Only comic book fans noticed those cookies in the film
Yes! Corvus can return as long as his weapon is in one piece, there's less likely chance we get to see another black order member 'Supergiant'.
Also don't forget about Red Skull, he may have something up in his sleeve, as he said when the soul stone is gone he will be freed from the curse, he might team up with thanos or may bring more mayhem!
At this point, anything can happen!

@@Georgeharris99 In the comics they call themselves the Cull Obsidian but Thanos thought that was too foreboding so they settled for Black Order. I think Cull Obsidian is a great name for a movie about them but that's not how Marvel approaches it's titles.

When watching infinity war I was hoping there would a scene where the avengers found themselves in a dire situation , finally managed to 'kill' Corvus, a moment of relief, only to see him regen back to life
I thought this was just a movie but now it sounds serious, serious as payin school fees serious
I thought about that, and while I understand that they have more important characters to focus on, it would be awesome if he came back in a future movie, possibly as a side-villain in a future MCU team movie. In the comics, I definitely think Corvus is the coolest of the Black Order.

Kinda honestly floored that, with all this info, you never mentioned that “The Other” aka “Thanos’s #2 that Ronan killed in GotG” was STRONGLY hinted at, and then more or less suggestively confirmed by Feige and the Russo’s, to be Corvus Glaive. His glaive survived...so did he. He’s always been second in command...and still was. Sorry for not having a link, but I was FOR SURE this was what the entire video was going to be about, and then...nope!

pretty sure he can't after the snap, the guantlet is fried and he can't use the stones without it.

Thanos can use the stones individually, but to use them simultaneously or paired he needs the gauntlet. He could just solely use the soul stone to revive them or time stone, as well.
If this movie was 4hours long I really don't think anyone would complain. This franchise has defined the term epic

I'm not that informed in the entire Marvel universe so this was new. I did love these 3 foes and how powerful they were. It gave me a vision of how they could eventually bring classic animes into the big screen, like Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball.

Just my opinion but they could have for sure made this a three part movie an actual explained the characters to the new fans an made the old fans re-live the comics on the big screen. I for sure would have rather them stretched infinity war to give us back stories or at lease put it all in the deleted scenes.

I was surprised when I heard the Black Order would be featured in IW. They only just appeared in the comics in 2013.

I think we will see the goddess of death return. Most rules of any movie are that if you don’t see them die, they aren’t dead. Not to mention Thanos previous motive in the comics to impress lady death would hold up. She will probably be very wounded...perhaps even skeletal like which would make sense.

Marvel should've made a 10-15 min UA-cam videocannon about the Black Order
They could even do a tv series on Thanos and his origins from concerned citizen on titan to struggling with the knowledge of what he feels he needs to do and the realisation that he's the only one with the will strong enough to to carry it out. The whole thing can been done through his eyes, from his point of view as the protagonist. There should be enough content for a 5 or even as much as 10 season series where we get to see him go from hero trying to make the hard choices to save the universe from itself to what many consider the ultimate villain bent bitter and twisted by the enormous pressure of that responsibility he took upon himself and the sheer emotional weight of everyone hating you, trying to stop you doing what you believe down to your core is what best for the universe.

Needs to be a “Thanos and the Black Order” Movie, showing the history of Thanos’ Childhood on Titan, and the Black Order as starting off as Thanos’ kids, and as they grow, expand on their powers.

I was so excited to hear that the children of thanos would be in infinity war, so im hoping they or atleast one of them will return but i doubt it.
There's a few other "ultimate" weapons from Marvel we haven't seen yet: the Staff of One, the Ebony Blade, and Mar-Vell's Nega Bands. There's others, like the Ultimate Nullifier, the Muramasa Blade, Silver Surfer's surfboard, and the M'Kraan Crystal, but they're probably out of bounds as they're associated with the Fantastic Four or the X-Men or other properties not under Marvel's control.
The Staff of One is in The Runaways show.
Since last years deal, Disney has access to all those properties under Fox- Fantastic Four, X Men, Deadpool, etc- so it's not out of the realms of possibility. Kevin Feige was recently even talking about an idea for a standalone Silver Surfer film.
That doesn't cover Sony's properties of course, but they came to a mutually beneficial arrangement for Spider Man, so access to Venom, Sinister Six, etc isn't 100% off the table.
He was a bad ass villain in Avengers infinity n so hyped for Avengers endgame
When I saw Avengers 3 I believed he would show up in Avengers 4 because in the comics Corvus Glaive can only die if his glaive is broken. I’ve thought that the movies will reveal that in Avengers 4.

Hey ! In my opinion the glaive can cut things only which it sees fit like vibranium or its alloy sheild, which is super durable not ultra durable like adamantium. And corvus can survive death only if he's holding the weapon.
They should've had a scene at the end where Ebony Maw gets dusted at Titan so after A4 he would be brought back for future movies as a frienemy of the guardians(?)
2:58 lol before Handing it over to Thanos. Thanos grabbed it from his hands. Then after Hiemdal was stabbed, Corbus grabbed it back with a pissed off look at Thanos when Thanos back was turned.
