      Cool video, Scott! I need your opinion, which printer do you think is better: Creality Ender 3 v2 or FLSUN Delta QQ-S- PRO? (looking at price-quality ratio)
      I wanna buy my first printer and I am thinking between these 2 printers. I mainly want to print detailed figurines.

    Honestly, an Ender 3 is like having a tuner car. Sure, it works out of the box, but part of the experience is tinkering and making it your own. Which makes it an excellent machine to learn the hobby on.

    2:20 I fell like this might be a bad idea since that liquid can cool things down to -40 deg which would introduce a huge amount of stress on a heated glass panel and it might shatter. Also, given what we know about tempered glass, it would just become a million pieces and be extremely annoying to clean up.
    For me, I just flipped the glass bed over and used the side without the coating. It would cause bed adhesion problem but I get away by setting the bed temp higher.

    For nylon, I love using the flex plate, I have a blank whambam flexplate - and I adhere a thin sheet of garolite to it. I use that for nylon, -- just use glue stick, and 90c, and works great. For everything else, swap to the PEI coated flex plate. The magnetic surface makes swapping print surfaces super easy.

    If you need to print smooth flat surfaces use a glass bed, but turn it over with the smooth side up. I also use hair spray for good adhesion to the surface. I print small plastic panels for audio enclosures and the smooth side of the glass bed makes for a very nice and smooth appearance. I use the Creality branded one.

    I've been telling people this air duster/freeze spray trick for years, especially for resin prints that can stick super hard to the build surface, but you are the first youtuber I've ever seen mention it.

    • @jawaring4367
      @jawaring4367 3 роки тому

      Also FYI for anyone with a resin printer: If you have a very large, flat bottom of your print you can also stick the whole thing in the freezer and then once its cold hold the platform and dip just the print in some hot water and it will pop off of the build platform. No more need to fear putting large flat areas on your build plate, and you can get much better adhesion while printing because of it.

    I have a Pi3B as well and I find that OctoPrint was always ~50% CPU utilization and I wasn't even using any fancy plugins. I made the switch to KIAUH/MailSail and I love it. My Pi is a lot happier, too :)

    I've been able to print polycarbonate and nylon filament with my creality PEI bed. Seems to work well and goes up to 100C!

    Great video! Fun fact about the air duster trick, those actually contain refrigerant, not compressed air. When you hold it upside down it sprays out the liquid which boils off outside of the can. That's why it's so good at cooling, because the chemical is designed for that. Depending on the specific air duster the chemical may be harmful so it's worth checking your preferred brand to see what they use and read up on it.
    I got my Ender 3 Pro recently and it's been working great! Took about a week of tweaking and troubleshooting but I'm super happy with the outcome.
